- I'm going #westward for something different. I've got a week off and I want to get my teeth into something new and what could be better than a trip to Ross-on-Wye to fish the mighty river #Wye.
Join me on this voyage of discovery as we travel across the UK for some #carpfishing, river fishing and awesome sightseeing.
2 bucket list items are ticked off the list on this trip and I'm excited to share them with you.

Some very special places captured elegantly and with your usual humour. Don't give up your day job for a singing career just yet Simon. Catching barbel from the Wye is very special and seeing someone catch their first there just makes it better.

I’ve been lucky enough to have the Wye on my doorstep the last ten plus years and glad you’ve seen what a magical place it truly is. Angling dreams alongside the Wye and Usk foundation run some stunning stretches of river. Rudely awakened...a bunch of mates are down there for the B1 deployment 😂 thought I recognised the name Whelford Pools, I have driven past them a few times to get to Fairford. Superb quality again pal, keeps getting better and better

Beautifully crafted film simon, I live near & have fished weford pools & fish on the cotswold water park, but have still to fish the wye. I've made many a visit to Simmons yat and stood and marvel at the stunning scenery and vowed that one day I will fish the wye and you may have just lit that spark 👍👌

daunting, the truth is the river wye has had its day , it went down hill about 30 years ago
It fished well for us over the couple of day including 4 barbel and 5 good chub. Lots of people saying the same about the river. We can only hope things pickup again Troy.
@@SimonMcCabe hi simon ,i have made a living from the wye for over 50years both legal and not so legal ., i was the first pike guide , on the river , i prob caught one of the first barbel seen in the river over 40years ago, but not on a rod , there used to be shoals of chub and barbel in their hundreds ,but pollution and angling pressure soon put pay to them ,its a pity ,but thats humans for you .
