25 years old! This band was the anthem of my teenage angst and high school relstionships, first love - what an experience. This life has been a blessing
Me too bro. She even looked like the girl on the album cover. Unfortunately we grew up and grew apart. I miss her so so much, still to this day haven't felt that strongly about a woman. I hope she's happy above all else, it's all I ever wanted.
I had a dream last night we Drove out to see Las Vegas We lost ourselves in the bright lights I wish you could have seen us Begging for change to get home Or at least San Francisco Let's put a ten on the high card And spend a summer on the west coast Down and to the left (Here's a map and the pen, the place you pointed at) Be California's best (All I ask, all I ask) And please don't tell me that I'm dreaming When all I ever wanted was to dream another sunset with you If I roll over when it's over I'll take this Cali sunrise with me And wake up with the fondest memories We made love by the ocean As the waves crashed around you Sunsets never were so bright And the skies never so blue You opened up into my arms And we laughed as I held you I'll never go back to Georgia Not at least till I have to Down and to the left (Here's a map and the pen, the place you pointed at) Be California's best (All I ask, all I ask) And please don't tell me that I'm dreaming When all I ever wanted was to dream another sunset with you If I roll over when it's over I'll take this Cali sunrise with me And wake up with the fondest memories Memories I had a dream last night we Drove out to see Las Vegas We lost ourselves in the bright lights Please don't tell me that I'm dreaming When all I ever wanted was to dream another sunset with you If I roll over when it's over I'll take this Cali sunrise with me And wake up with the fondest memories We made love by the ocean As the waves crashed around you Sunsets never were so bright And the skies never so blue You opened up into my arms And we laughed as I held you I'll never go back to Georgia Not at least till I have to Down and to the left
I remember listening to this or music like this laying in bed so late at night the sun would be coming up unable to sleep thinking of a girl.. wonder if ill ever experience love like that again or if young love is just for the young
@Guthrietastic that verse is in the Kid Named Chicago version of the song, Kid Named Chicago was Jason, Jake and Alex's band before Mayday Parade When Mayday re-recorded Jamie All Over for A Lesson in Romantics that verse got cut out for whatever reason, shame cos it's a nice verse
@Guthrietastic Oh I just realised that, that part is in there. There's two versions of Jamie All Over, (excluding this one) the non- acoustic one on the A Lesson in Romantics has that part of the song.
@Guthrietastic Those lines are from the original song, which was written by Jason Lancaster's old band Kid Named Chicago. (There is also a version from the KNC when they were still known as The Last Try.)
Wow I remember being 13 and seeing wanna be emo's and scene kids everywhere and all I could think I wish I had hair like that but It wasn't bad I never judged them by there looks or the way they choose they're sexual liking I just wish I could've had hair like that lol and been skinny then as I am now but thanks for uploading this best years of my life I wasn't like the emo or scene kids but I tried my best to fit in thanks you to all who made my life a living hell in school and thank you so much to those who made it a lovely place to feel like I fin somewhere in life back then it was hell but it was also Heaven I miss then forever memories I won't forget lol peope use to tell me scene is dead shave your head it just changed to me in a way I wish the original scene or the first kids with bright hair were still around they were different and didn't care what anyone thought or said mean or nice they didn't care because they were they're self and I was proud to be apart of that era that part in time wear it was Hell and Heaven for scene kids and emo kids ill always miss seeing bright hair in my school and skinny jeans call it what you may or joke call me gay at least I could say I stood for something and had friends that I wasn't alone or judging people I was myself and I was proud of it my family even sort of was mean but I did what I felt was me and I hung out with the weird off kids anyway long story uh shoulda made it short if any old school emo rocker scene kids see and were bullied because the way you dressed or looked I'm proud of you always be yourself no matter what anyone thinks because your you and that's all that matters :)
Kyle HORIzON I just wanted to point out that they don't chose their sexual preferences. I'm not trying to be mean or anything. But I can relate to what you said and I was too one of those kids. I mean the kids who didn't know where they fit in and found somewhere with the outcasts. Nonetheless, I applaud you.
i love mayday parade songs live, acoustic, studio versions. derek is an amazing singer, yes i miss jason but mayday parade is still the best band, with the most amazing touching lyrics and will forever be amazing. stop fighting and enjoy the fucking song
I miss Jason and Derek together :/ but I do really like the new Mayday Parade, and Go Radio. They both accent the different music styles of the two different singers :)
@MrSpacely89 You've gotta admit Go Radio has extremely passionate songs though. Jason is an amazing artist. Derek and Jason had perfect voices together, and we'll all miss the old Mayday Parade.. But Go Radio AND Mayday Parade are amazing bands. Just appreciate their choices to split, and accept it. They both deserve to be heard.
@MrSpacely89 i am flabbergasted. jason lancaster is fucking amazing. his voice his lyrics mayday parade wouldn't have made it as big as they did if it weren't for jasons lyrics and vocals on the fist album. Go Radio is amazing live. he has so much heart. dude you're twisted.
@kingdomkeygirl that part of the verse isnt from a lesson in romantics, its in the first release of that song which was on tales told by dead friends im pretty sure. great song though thans for uploading
@MrSpacely89 Dude, have you ever SEEN Go Radio live? They sounded better live than just about anyone ive ever seen. His voice is as flawless live as it is on the record which is very rare. Also, hes just a very cool down to earth guy. I love Mayday, but without Jasons writing they probably wouldnt be as popular as they are today.
I don't understand why people are still compairing Go Radio to Mayday Parade... C'mon guys, they're both awesome bands. And if you want to know something Jason Lancaster(Go Radio) wrote most of the Mayday songs, and didn't get credit for it. And both of the bands are GREAT live.
I personally think Mayday Parade is still an amazing band. They have been way longer without him then with him, so all you of you need to shut up about him on mayday parade videos, and go listen to him.
@dumbbelluser Yeah, I dont really care about it, cause I still love Mayday Parade. One person doesn't make a band, but some don't understand that. But I also love Jason and Go Radio
@TheChannelOfDestiny Brothers. if you want to hear a sweet song with both of them, go listen to forever my father by Go Radio. (And, to those who will comment, no, I'm not making a statement that is comparing GR or MP. I'm simply giving info about a good song).
@kingdomkeygirl @themaxhillmanSA @NeverLookBackDrummer @Guthrietastic What the hell guys? Its just a RED SHIRT! Don't fight over it... let's just listen to the song... and love each other
@mistakatz95 There's autotune in pretty much everything you listen to nowadays lol maybe not in the way that it corrects the notes, just cuz mics are so sensitive and can pick up so much that they use autotune to tidy it up a bit. Pretty much the only things that it isn't used on are guttural vocals and spoken vocals like rapping etc. it's not a bad thing... except for when the production is bad and you can really notice as in here.
@MrSpacely89 Agree to an extent, but you do realise Jason wrote all the songs on their first album, A Lesson in Romantics, right? Neither new Mayday and Go Radio are as good as the old Mayday Parade.
What I love about them is that they're not autotuned to gods end. They have legitamate tallent! I don't understand how people like LMFAO are played on the radio yet bands like Mayday Parade go unnoticed. Maybe if Mayday Parade sounded like crap then they'd get played more often. -_-
Wait what?… this definitely IS auto-tuned to death 😂 That’s not a slight against Mayday either - it’s just common practice for any recording these days to have post-production done to it to make it more it sound tighter and more polished.
GUYS CHECK MAYDAY'S FUCKING TWITTER, IT'S JASON'S BROTHER DANIEL SINGING THE LAST PART OF THIS GORGEOUS SING. SO DON'T SAY SHIT UNTIL YOU GET YOUR DAMN FACTS STRAIGHT.
@Falinthor Oppostie, jason pulled some crazy shit on them. if they kicked him out it would be different. he left for go radio. he was the ass. and now go radio blows. he is a great singer. and this isnt a new member, its just his brothe because they wanted to re record the song and felt nobody else should do it.
@MrSpacely89 Dude Jason made this band. There's a reason Anywhere but Here was such a flop. Even if it wasn't just his vocals(which were a huge part of why the band was great) it was is amazing song craft. Nothing from the post Jason can compare to back when he was in the band. Still I'll admit I kinda like this version of the song.
25 years old! This band was the anthem of my teenage angst and high school relstionships, first love - what an experience. This life has been a blessing
I thought you were saying this album is 25 years old, and I was about to be like “no, don’t you dare age me like that that”
How's it going?
Me too bro. She even looked like the girl on the album cover. Unfortunately we grew up and grew apart. I miss her so so much, still to this day haven't felt that strongly about a woman. I hope she's happy above all else, it's all I ever wanted.

Be California's best
(All I ask, all I ask)
And please don't tell me that I'm dreaming
When all I ever wanted was to dream another sunset with you
If I roll over when it's over
I'll take this Cali sunrise with me
And wake up with the fondest memories
We made love by the ocean
As the waves crashed around you
Sunsets never were so bright
And the skies never so blue
You opened up into my arms
And we laughed as I held you
I'll never go back to Georgia
Not at least till I have to
Down and to the left
(Here's a map and the pen, the place you pointed at)
Be California's best
(All I ask, all I ask)
And please don't tell me that I'm dreaming
When all I ever wanted was to dream another sunset with you

@Guthrietastic that verse is in the Kid Named Chicago version of the song, Kid Named Chicago was Jason, Jake and Alex's band before Mayday Parade
When Mayday re-recorded Jamie All Over for A Lesson in Romantics that verse got cut out for whatever reason, shame cos it's a nice verse
I wish they did a full Acoustic Cover of a album! I would love that so so much!
BANGER ALERT
2021 keep it alive!!!!!
@Guthrietastic Oh I just realised that, that part is in there. There's two versions of Jamie All Over, (excluding this one) the non- acoustic one on the A Lesson in Romantics has that part of the song.
2018 and still my fave
@Guthrietastic Those lines are from the original song, which was written by Jason Lancaster's old band Kid Named Chicago. (There is also a version from the KNC when they were still known as The Last Try.)

Dude... add some punctuation for God's sake o_o
+Dana Hansen same to the both of yall music in general has helped me its unreal
TL;DR: dear emo rocker scene kids, have pride in who you are, regardless of what anyone else tells you.
You were a mistake your parents sued the condom company
January 2021, survived covid and still here!
@Guthrietastic It was on one of the first recordings of this track way back in the Tales Told By Dead Friends era.
i love mayday parade songs live, acoustic, studio versions. derek is an amazing singer, yes i miss jason but mayday parade is still the best band, with the most amazing touching lyrics and will forever be amazing. stop fighting and enjoy the fucking song
I miss Jason and Derek together :/ but I do really like the new Mayday Parade, and Go Radio. They both accent the different music styles of the two different singers :)
2017 anyone?
tryna find my headphones cos this band is too good to share :D
ahh i love Mayday Parade. But nothing will ever compare to when Jason was in the band!
@MrSpacely89 I agree, but he was a great song writer, thats why he is so awesome.
i know jason lancasters brother sings the last verse in the regular version of this song, and i think he does in this version too.
Is it really SO horrible that Jason left?
We'll all miss him, but Mayday Parade is Mayday parade and it'll never be bad~
@TateTheGreat9 no he did vocals on this when it was on ALIR so he did them on this too.
@MrSpacely89 You've gotta admit Go Radio has extremely passionate songs though. Jason is an amazing artist. Derek and Jason had perfect voices together, and we'll all miss the old Mayday Parade.. @mistakatz95 yeah there is man, you can hear it at 1:16 when Derek says "around"
@kingdomkeygirl that part of the verse isnt from a lesson in romantics, its in the first release of that song which was on tales told by dead friends im pretty sure. great song though thans for uploading
@faithlessbelievers Yeah, I figured that out like 5 minutes after posting that xD my bad lol
This song is cute
@kingdomkeygirl Not that it matters now, but it IS off the EP, not ALIR. Thanks for the upload of this though!:D
@NeverLookBackDrummer I dont even know now, but the versions I have on my iTunes just say A Lesson in Romantics.
I live in Valdosta! (its a town in south georgia)
@kingdomkeygirl Actually its from the original Kid Named Chicago version. :D
@OwenIsOnFire And? They're amazing in every way possible with or without him.
@thomasquires yes, he does. they're all still friends and such.
@Mo5664 I'm 16 and these really are the best years of my life :) Make the most of them!
i loved them, then i met them, then i was in love with them
@DelaneyWahl no actually Daniel lancaster sings the last verse
@Woodpushertodeath17 Try turning off the annotations. There's a little button on the video screen
Agreeeeeeed. I will forever be a supporter of Jason Lancaster.
It just isn't the same when he's not singing this.
I personally think Mayday Parade is still an amazing band. They have been way longer without him then with him, so all you of you need to shut up about him on mayday parade videos, and go listen to him.
@AnsellJack I agree 100%, I love Jake, but personally, I like Jason's vocals more
One of the best bands lyrically of this generation and that’s not up for debate
Still sing this song for practice and to make sure I dont sound like shit.
EARGASM!!!!!!!!!!!
i think i broke the replay button lol

@themaxhillmanSA I never said that it was in TTBDF.
Now playing.
@TateTheGreat9 No he isn't, he was just doing back up for this one one.
@MrSpacely89 Be nice, Jason wrote pretty much every son on ALiR.
@kingdomkeygirl @themaxhillmanSA @NeverLookBackDrummer @Guthrietastic What the hell guys? Its just a RED SHIRT! Don't fight over it... let's just listen to the song... and love each other

@FlippingThePages Ahaha exactly. Jason is always going to beat.
mayday parade :D

I always though it said "doughnut to the left"
so much better than original
2019 anyone?
@Falinthor Oppostie, jason pulled some crazy shit on them. if they kicked him out it would be different. he left for go radio. he was the ass. and now go radio blows. he is a great singer. and this isnt a new member, its just his brothe because they wanted to re record the song and felt nobody else should do it.
Where was Jason Lancaster for this?
Ty Croll he left the band after they released the album “A lesson in romantics”
@MrSpacely89

i just like the song before it begins (:
