BRIGHAM CITY, Utah - Court documents filed in the Dylan Rounds murder case contain new information about James Brenner, the alleged suspect, and why he is being charged with aggravated murder and abuse or desecration of a human body.
Here are the documents filed Friday, March 3 in Box Elder County, Utah.

I don't know Dylan nor do I live in Idaho but this case has touched my heart. I so wanted him found alive. After a few interviews with the parents you basically knew he wasn't. Such a wonderful kid who did nothing to anyone. Just wanted to be a farmer. My heart and prayers go out to Dylan's parents & family. Rest in Peace Dylan!
My thoughts exactly. Prayers to his precious devoted fearless mother and father. I think those trash bags that were disposed of would have all the evidence. So sad.

You've provided a platform for Dylan's family to be the voice of their son. They've fought long and hard for every step of progress to date. Kudos to your eagerness to help, Nate. I have never questioned that your heart is your motivation, not ratings.
To hear you share the story about Robert Wood, it shows the way the smallest details affect you and stay with you. I hate that Dylan's parents needed so much help, but count them lucky to have you on their side.
Dylan’s family made their own platform well before anyone else got involved. His parents weren’t stopping not even when SM or the cops would take them seriously.

Ok you said something that just made me respect you as a journalist even more. 4:50 you say that you knew about the phone in the pond but didn’t reveal it because it was told to you in confidence and my guess is that you didn’t want to compromise the case. Do you know how RARE that is with journalists these days?!?! A lot of news outlets wouldn’t have been so obliged for the next big story. You have integrity and that’s hard to find nowadays.

She deserves an Award & Recognition for all that She did in Looking for Her Missing Beloved Son Dylan..I have never seen such a Person & Mother or a Loving Detective Mom like Candice. She did it all Relentless & Never Gave Up. She Gave Her Best & All Too. She Put some Police & Detectives & FBI to Shame too. Nate, I watched this earlier and wanted to come back to say thank you. I’m nowhere near Idaho, but I’ve always appreciated your thorough coverage. You have a special way of reporting such tragic news. You’ve always done so well interviewing the family too. Dylan’s case really broke my heart. He was young and had amazing future plans. My thoughts are with his family, and again, thank you for all you do for not only him, but other victims as well. ❤

Murdaugh case out of South Caroline that has been in the news lately. A ticktoc vid placed the father at the crime scene after he lied and said he wasn't there.

@@karenmilligan5597 It was a Snapchat video that was on Paul's phone. SLED (SC State Law Enforcement Division) weren't able to crack the password to get into Paul's phone until 2022. It's good that Paul and Rogan were texting then and Paul got that video. He didn't have enough time to send it to Rogan, but he was the one who actually proved his dad was at the kennels just minutes before dying.

My heart breaks for Dylan and his family. I’m not even an American, but as the Mom of two, grown sons, this story really got to me. I’ve been following your coverage, Nate, and your interviews with Dylan’s parents. They have been super-human, from the very start. I sincerely hope they will be able to recover Dylan’s body, and give him the dignified burial he deserves, as well as having some small measure of closure for the family. My sincere sympathies to the Rounds. RIP Dylan - you deserved so much better, as you worked so hard to try and create a decent and hardworking life. 😢🇨🇦

You are right that violent criminals should never be out on bond, I share your feelings about being sick and tired of this ongoing reporting of people getting murdered by a person that got out and shouldn't have. They take our rights away by putting us in the line of fire in an altercation with these killers and they rob us of our loved ones when they have the misfortune of having to be their victim. We all need to start to complain to the local courts and the DOJ, and most of all read the track records of these judges and don't vote for the ones that do this sort of thing! God Bless you!

This case hurts my heart. On so many levels. Especially, when you hear. How hard working Dylan was. How he was trying his best. To be a good, contributing member. Of his community. Your son is absolutely beautiful. The story about Robert Wood brought tears to my eyes. I had a brother with autism who disappeared on a family hike, and I remember how scared I was for him. He never disappeared for too long so we were blessed in that respect. He passed from health issues 7 years ago and I think about him every day.

Thank you Nate. This case brings tears to me, he was such an innocent young man. I’m wondering if he was able to do the same as Libby German, hit record… because he knew he was in danger. Once the murder realized this had been recorded, he threw the phone in the lake, thinking it would destroy evidence. There will never be true closure for his family, but I hope Dylan’s body is found. He deserves to have a proper resting place. 🙏🏻

Thanks for keeping us updated. I’ve been following this case and I don’t know, I think of Dylan even though I don’t know him. From the remarks about him, he seems like such a nice, steady pleasant young person who was living a good life, a life that he enjoyed. I am sending so much love to Dylan’s parents and family right now. I have been following along from the very beginning when it was first made public that Dylan was missing. Something about this case was so suspicious from the very first moment. I’m so glad the prosecutors have so much evidence. Now I only pray that the suspect tells where he has laid Dylan’s body.
