  • This is a celebration of Skywest Capt.Tim Calvert's life (1965-2018) and the song is his last written guitar piece. Both beautiful and poignant, it's a fitting tribute to the man, the pilot and the musician.

This guy was one of my alltime favorite guitar players. Incredible talent and I loved his ability to be unique. When I first heard Forbidden's Distortion and Twisted into Form albums I was blown away by the style. The harmonic minor scales. I can't even name them. It's the 0-1-4-5-7-8-10 scale :D I was fortunate enough to see him play with Forbidden on the 2001 T.O.T.T. gig in San Francisco. And to add to his achievement he also played with Nevermore. Like Jeff Loomis is seriously possibly one of the all time best Heavy Metal guitar players and his style just blends so well with Tim's. What a legend!

Tim wasnt only an amazing guitarist but he also was cool as Fuk he always took the time to talk to his fans.Every time I seen him he had a smile on his face.
First time I met him was in seattle when forbidden played the Moore theater 1990 (twisted into form tour)I don't remember if they had a opener. After the show me and my buddy where hanging out like the typical long haired headbanger usally did for a autograph or a couple seconds of there time to shake there hand and stroke there ego and tell them how amazing they are. Well Tim walked up to me and approached me stuck his hand out and said "thanks for coming to the show I appreciate it." I asked him what do I need to do to become a better guitar player? He looked dead at me and said "Dont copy anyone, dont try to inmatate anyone,be yourself, play for yourself because you love it. Most importantly is learn arpreggios and sweeps and a scale or 2 . You do that and one day you will be up on the big stage man" he put his arm around me and said "Just have fun and do it for you,WANNA BEER?" Well at 16 fuck ya I wanted a beer so we had a beer with Tim and Paul bostaph.i shook his hand and we took off. Then a few years later (I was 18) I went to Mexico Tijuana and to my suprise forbidden was playing with Fates warning. Well I bought a ticket for like 1500 pesos (like $65.00) fucker scammed me.I think tix were like $7.00 so after the show we waited again . Tim had a huge smile came right at me and said " have you been practicing your appreggios?" He was such a huge influence to so many man.then. when he joined NEVERMORE I about lost my shit .Im a huge sanctuary / nevermore fan and living in seattle at the time. I could go on and on about every time i sat and talked to him but it would be a novel.( almost one now lol) he always asked me about my practice of the arpreggios. This man is more then just a metal guitar player he was something more he was a huge influance to me and so many others. RIP MY FRIEND I imagine you, Warrel Dane Chuck schuldiner,
dimebag,Jeff hanneman, Ronnie Dio,cliff Burton and lemmy all ripping up all together in one big jam room down at studio 7 (closed now)
YOU ARE MISSED MORE THEN YOU KNOW TIM. RIP
and whoever made this video it brought a tear to my eye
You my friend did a fucking amazing job🤘🤘🤘🤘

Holy crap! Forbidden with Fates Warning!!! Damn, 2 of my all time faves! I met Tim on the Distortion tour and like you said, a totally nice guy who remembered me when he was setting up on stage for Nevermore on the Dead Heart in a Dead World Tour :). His is with an incredible Metal orchestra in the sky \m/.

Wow, what an Amazing video and Tim's playing... Just Fantastic!!!
I worked with Tim in the early 2000's at Flight Center in Seattle (as per picture on ramp). He was such a Great Guy! He invited me to a party at his house where Members of Nevermore were Jamming...Such a wonderful time!

When I sat there speechless from the compositions You and Scott D. on bass did. Truly, truly wish I had that tape you gave us. Like everyone else the years with Forbidden and Nevermore 🤘 priceless.

Two of my all time favorite albums, TiF and DNB. Been listening to TiF since it came out in 1990 and have always loved it. Tim Calvert quickly became one of my favorite guitarists after hearing 'Parting of the Ways' and 'Infinite'...then the rest of the album and all his amazing leads. I bought DNB in late '99 after somehow hearing Tim was in a band called Nevermore and on the latest album...I bought it asap and loved it right from the start...beyond within! Amazing album. Tim ruled!
