Busted out the "Spirit"!
Great demo..what a killer amp. First time hearing one, thanks!
Thanks! Yeah I heard that flanges pedal sound and had to do it! Thanks for watching!
This is the Marshall sound I hear in my head. When I think Marshall this is it.
My first real amp was a 100 watt Jubilee head in 1987…I still have it..I have been thinking of getting the mini for awhile..The tones are amazing!Great video!!
Mini is so good! I have played both back to back and they sound really freakin close to the real deal!
@@BrettPapa absolutely..I have compared mine to the re-issue,and they are very close….
I couldn’t stand it anymore!!…I watched this video again and again…I pulled the trigger on the mini Jubilee today…It should be here next week…My wife says Thanks Brett,HaHa!!
Don’t sell the original! But they did do a test between the original and the reissue and I would say they about nailed it! Finally!
That’s the best sounding Marshall I’ve heard in quite awhile.
Great playing as well!
The Mini Jubilee Combo with the 25w Greenback in it rocks hard! My favorite combo amp.
I bet that is great! I have been super impressed with all of the Studio amps.
I have the combo. I've been itching for the JCM 800 Studio... but then I'll switch on the Jube and think "this does literally everything I could think of", and here we are.
@@Disembodied_Voice same. Have the jube, want the 800, but i'm sure if i went to the 800 i'd wish i hadn't sold the jube
Picking mine up next Thursday - can’t wait! Got the 2x12 vertical jubilee cab coming with it too. Can’t believe it took me this long to find this video!
Watching Jubilee reviews is the only way I can stay sane until I pick it up now 😅
Hey man, please tell me, can you do a recent gig with that setup? I'm into small/medium size club gigs, and I'm considering Mini Jubilee, but i'm wondering if it can pull it off? Thanks!
LOVE THE SOUND ALSO. AND YOUR LESSON'S!! BADDA BING
I bought all three of the studios - the Classic (JCM800), the Vintage (Plexi) and the Silver Jubilee. They are all awesome!
Wow so jealous! I need to buy the other two! Great little amps. I need all the big versions too haha!
I also have all three!! Also two 2x12 matching cabinets w/ 25 watt green backs!!!! They’re amazing!!!!
I have the JCM800 bluecombo, and the SV20 is on the way. I also have an Origin 20 and a DSL40. Now I'm wondering if I should return the SV20 since I basically have the ballpark with the Origin, and get the Jubilee instead- but then I have the DSL40, too, so...... Thoughts? Is the SV 20 kinda redundant if I have an Origin 20 already?
I love the sound of the mini mic the accompanying 140W 2x12 Marshall cab that is designed for the head and you've got a KILLER rig. For most cover gigs you won't really even need to mic the cab as most bars today will INSIST the band's overall volume is not excessive.
I bought one based on Johan Sageborn’s demo, where he was getting an absolutely spectacular crunch tone. I’m not a huge fan of the clean (it’s a bit sterile sounding IMO), so I used that as an excuse to get a Little Sister, which I love just as much 😂. YES!!! I’ve never had an EQ THAT sensitive. God help you if you get it dialed in, then so much as brush against it for any reason. It’s the only Marshall (that I know of) with an EQ….THAT sensitive. We live in such a glorious time in gear. It’s amazing to know we don’t need a 100w or 50w amp anymore to get a spectacular tone. Now, if I can just find a way to convince my financial advisor (better known as my wife) that I really need an SLO 30. GREAT video “Artist formerly known as Stache”!!!
Yeah his demos are great. Watched a ton of his demos too. Yes the EQ is very sensitive as well. Sounds like all good amp choices on your end. I would love a good SLO at some point myself!
@@BrettPapa I agree 100%. You're crushing it, Brett. I've sent a lot of people your direction who are trying to make up their minds. You've certainly helped me make some purchases.....I thank you for that. That video of Johan's where he's playing it "Loud" through a vintage cab, it's dialed in perfectly. Physical volume, unfortunately is key, as usual. Having a lot of physical air pushing a speaker cone is incredibly important (and not using too much gain) or it get's flubby, or fizzy, and loses articulation. Attenuators allow us to saturate the tubes, but I have yet to really hear IR's duplicate what happens to guitar tone when you're pushing 50-80 watts through a speaker cone. It gives the tone SOOO much articulation and percussion....two of my favorite words when it comes to those killer crunch classic rock tones (i.e. Invasion of Privacy/Fair Warning). But, I digress. P.S. I would think BAD would send you an SLO for for demo purposes, if nothing else. I had one for a month, and once dialed in, it's beyond magical. I was crushed when I had to send it back. It took another month to get that tone out of my head to be able to enjoy my other "Marshall-esq" amps 🤣. Carry on brother, you're doing the guitar world a great service.👍
Great vid Dude!
I have the 100W Reissue & for me its the perfect amp. If I ever need a smaller amp, I would just get this honestly.
Brett, this is great, I own this amp; it would be really helpful if you showed the settings with each tone you demonstrate; also, using the OX to demo any amp completely changes the tone for the 99% of us who don't have an OX; it would a million more helpful if you demo'd it without an attenuator. There's no way I get those tones at home without an OX. Maybe you should be selling OX's too.
I hear ya. The settings on the pedals I used were shown on the video and I really didn't change the amp settings much other than the amount of gain and I explained where I had the knobs. As far as the OX goes the 412 sim I used sounds pretty darn close to a greenback speaker in a Marshall cab so the tones would be pretty close if that is the type of speaker that you use. I have friends that use both the OX and real cabs in pro studios and almost nobody can tell what they are playing through unless they are told. Everything in the chain has a big effect on the tone so naturally unless you are playing the same guitars, pickups, pedals, etc as me it is going to sound different than what you may be using. I do have a Sweetwater link to the OX if you want one lol! Thanks for watching and the constructive comments. Always good to know.
Traded in my Mark V combo for the 2525H - instant tone! No messing about - Love it.
you are dedicated!!! keep it up papa!! ! love you brother!!!!!
That series of „small“ amps is still intriguing me. I’d probably lean towards the SV20 Plexi version, but this looks like a killer rock amp. Definitely would need to run it through my Ox box though.
All of them are great! Can't go wrong with any of them. Yes having an OX makes it even better!
These are great! I’ve got one with the matching 2x12 cab. They are way cheaper in Europe than in the US.
Sounds awesome!
I can't afford one but in Amplitube 5 I made a Brit Silver (Silver Jubilee) and Mini-Plex (20 watt) patch and it's one of my go to patches.
@@BrettPapa Have you tried the ToneX yet? You can use the ToneX amp models in Amp 5, it takes it up a level! I still use the regular Amp 5 models too and mixing them up in a stereo patch is awesome.
So because of this video I just ordered a Jube. My DSL bit the dust and this will be a major upgrade for me. I have the "Frankie" and I got some nice VH tones out of the DSL head paired with a 1x12 cream back . I'll never have Brett's chops but I'm trusting that I can get the tones that I'm hearing in this video without an OX whatever that is. I'm hoping for plenty of gain without needing a pedal boost.
for years all i ever wanted was a silver jubilee (huge frusciante fan) and now im torn between these new studio versions or the PRS hdx20 which just sounds incredible. what a time to be a guitar player with gear this good
Damn...you sold me on the plexi...but now I don’t know. That jub sounds killer too.
While the ads before the video we’re loading I was thinking to myself, I wonder if he’ll play some RHCP since John plays a jubilee….😂 7 notes later and I am smiling
Haha had to do it. I had learned Blood Sugar too and totally forgot to play it lol!
take care !! gonna rock tonight!!
Finally somebody is giving dream warriors by dokken some love !! awsome song and awsome guitar part .. george lynch rocks :)
Great video as always, thank you Brett! Can you make a lesson video on “ push comes to shove” by Van Halen. So underrated 👌
Nice demo Brett and am the proud owner of an 87’ Jubilee 2555 with 6AC7’s that I’ll never part with!
@@BrettPapa You’re welcome and yes amazing amp! What brand tubes are in there Brett? Great tone and have to re tube mine!
they sound great with the celestion g10 4x10 marshall cabs. Master on 8 Pre on 8. Scoops the mids a bit no matter what the low wattage people tell you about 'cutting in mixes''. That and a superfuzz , wah and deja-vibe and your guitar single or bucker will have happy pants. l like mine w/ EBMM eddie V's.
Love the Dokken riff! That will probably go right over the head of most people, lol
Yeah Soul to squeeze 🎉 you can really use this amp for RHCP and GnR sounds which is absolutely awesome
I was gonna say…”Sounds a lot like Slash’s tone.” Then I look up history and it found out its always been his favorite amp. There’s a plushness to it that’s not always found in Marshalls.
You are right, man...THIS AMP IS FUCKING GREAT!!!
@@BrettPapa Can you keep the amp for free, or do you have to send it back to marshall...???
Your a killing it , rock and rolling jamming , nice nice video. How to get a cab tone on a low budget is a question I have . OX and Jubilee super expensive ? ?
Thanks William! Man you could probably get a 112 cab with a Celestion and get great results. Divided by 13 makes a fantastic 112 called a Rock Block that was designed for legendary producer Bob Rock. Sounds just like a mini 412. They aren't too expensive either.
PAPA!! IF ONLY! QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE!! LIKE IT
Brett, that’s awesome. Have you got all three Universal Audio pedals in the effects loop of the amp? I have the reverb and delay but I haven’t tried the modulation pedal yet. I have always preferred analog choruses and flangers. That sounds really good though. I’m wondering if I should sell some pedals and pick up Astra.
It is pretty fantastic! There are a lot of good ones out there but I have been super impressed with all of the UA gear. They don't put anything out unless its really good!
I bought the 1x12 combo and 50w head and 4x12 when they first came out in whenever in the 80's it was. But really didn't know shit about tone too much, I had too many pedals into them and a strat, wasn't metal enough for me back then ha. And like 100 other things that got away, I sold them. Then Slash had the whole silver Jube stuff and the price went through the roof. Now I would just plug my LP's straight into it.
Yep that amp is one of those you could just have a delay in the loop and you would be good to go!
Any chance of a video about how much overdrive to use when recording parts? I have been having issues using what turns out to be too much OD I think... because the parts seem to get mushy or lose definition of the nuances as I record more parts. Thanks
Yeah man I have an entire video coming out about my setup and how I record stuff. Coming soon!
Sweetwater needs to send me some stuff to check out and Brett, please send me 18% of your playing skills. Thank you.
The gain tone on the 2555 is really growing on me. Its not as wide open as a plexi but its got a serious thickness. Almost slo100ish
This amp is currently 799 EUR in the EU at Thomann. That‘s crazy value for the money.
The sound of the Jubilee is awesome ! But I love the sound of your fender too ! I'm very impressed by your black humbucker : wich brand and wich model is it ? 🤩🤩😋😋😋🤘🤘🤘
HALEN and ALICE in chains my favorites!! I'm old! lol
@@BrettPapa 66 is old lol I'm not complaining about your set up!! it's great! but I like 100 vs 20 cause I'm hard a hearing lol
This amp is so versatile and takes pedals well with a great effects loop. I’ve got a 100watt 2555 and many tones are to be gotten!
For playing pink floyd and jimi hendrix srv this amp is good ?or is better the studio sv20h marshall or fender 68 vibrochamp custom reverb please ?
It sounds so good! And you play awesome. Do you prefer the Silver Jub or the 800?
Cheers from Portugal 🤘🍺🇵🇹
Thanks! I haven't tried the 800 yet. My favorite one of them all is the JTM45. Silver is really great though.
Sounds amazing! Thanks for describing the signal path. Are you going to studio monitors from the Ox and is the audio being picked up in the room from your camera mic or is it going direct?
Thanks! No its direct into logic. I use monitors to hear it but I cut that audio out in post.
@BrettPapa BTW, your video on the SV20H gave me major G.A.S. and now I have one on order! Now after seeing this video...I might have also get the Silver Jubilee...damn it! 😁
Been thinking of one of these amps for a while now. Cant decide on if I want the combo or the head and cab. Trying to figure out if the extra speaker is really worth an extra $1,000 as that is the difference between the two. Or, if that cab and extra speaker will really sound like its $1,000 better than the combo. The angled cab with head sure looks cool though. Will not gig it, I'll just play in my home.
I would go with a head and cab. Combo sounds great its a little more boxy to my ears though.
I've wanted one for ages, always wanted it but its rarely in stock
@@BrettPapa I'm in the UK (where you would have thought it'd be easier to get them) and they are hard to come by
Dang, not many videos of this amp being played straight to the amp. Oh well I guess I will keep searching.
@@BrettPapa really? Ok I will watch it again. All the way to the end this time. I was thinking about getting the marshall origin 20 but I might as well go a little higher up the ladder. Its a bit out of my price range but I can charge it and pay it off in about six months. LOL
Does anyone know the story behind Lynch’s gray marshalls on stage in 87? Were they jubilees or something custom? Always wonder about those live 87’ amps.
Haha I was just watching and wondering that too. I think they are old modded Plexi amps.
@Brett Papa - whats ur delay settings on say a Boss DD 4 knobber?
Low mix, 1 to 2 repeats, 350-400 millasec, if it has a treble roll off I roll off the treble, if it has modulation I add a little. I favor a tape delay sound or a memory man type sound. Adds dimension but doesn't get in the way.
what's the van Halen song he was playing?
Can you try the 20 watt jcm 800! Or the 20 watt plexi!
800 is next. I have the plexi and have done a demo on it on my channel already.
how well do you think the mini silver jube would do zeppelin live at the garden in NYC 1973(the song remains the same)???
@@BrettPapa yea but I'm a poor ass recovering addict and I need a master volume or an attenuated that I can't afford...i live in a apartment building so plexi cranked is a no go, I got a supro black magick reverb it sounds good but it's no valco amp and deff not anything close to page's supro like they've claimed...and the black magick is a dark sounding amp even with a speaker change
DAMN! UA Pedals! How did I Miss those🤷♂️
Oh yeah, Fulltone! Those OG Fulltone Fulldrive 2’s non Mofset’s are great too, especially the white ones! Hard to find!
Growlllliiing!
Small? LOL But it sounds great for sure. However, I've sold all but one of my real tube amps and replaced them with a Headrush MX5. It's small fits in to a backpack, consistent, can be used with headphones, uses almost no power, has a great value and modelling sounds great on modern technology. With the only downside that sometimes nothing beats a good old nostalgic tube amp.
Yeah there are tons of great digital options out there now. Fractile stuff is my favorite for that sort of thing. It is really tough to beat the real thing though!
I had the mini for 2 years then got the SC20h, got rid of Jub and never looked back. the 800 is the tone we all grew up listening to, the Jub just isn't. However I still think the Jub is oustanding amp. If you A/b both then you'll know.
@@BeautifulGuitars365yes but jubi’s clean tone is outstanding in comparison Sclassic
Your listing 2 sets of strat siingle coil what arethey in strat
In my pick Strat the singles are specials and in my other Strats it's a 64 in the neck and a special in the middle.
Nice video! Which chorus did you used?
Great question haha I don’t remember exactly but I want to say it was on one of my delay pedals.
buá ..como suenan..zakk y Eddie!..cuanto money debéis tener eh?😁😁😁 jajajaa
see you in the next !! later
So Brett, if you could only have one, Marshall or Friedman?
I'd find a way to have both haha! I'll say this nothing sounds like a real Marshall. If I wanted a strict Marshall type tone I would get a Marshall. That being said Friedman's are some of my all time favorite amps.
sorry!! one last comment! sorry for so many tonight!! papa! You got hendrix aced!!
👋 appericate the demos thanks 😊 question I'm doing outdoor fest gigs will push a 2x12 with vintage 30 using a bogner oversize cabinet thanks
Yeah I think it will work. It's a loud 20watts. If the cab will have a mic on it then for sure you will be fine.
You're the kinda guy every BBQ guitarist fears.
Show up with my classy dinged-up picnic table frankenstrat.
Impress the local moms with a couple licks.
Then this dude walks in, and the last thing I hear is "Welcome welcome welcome!" ☠☠☠
Holy shit is this papa Brett? I used to watch your lessons man you look different
DSL20 can do everything the jube does and more for a third of the price.
Anyone used this live? Is it loud enough?
@@BrettPapa Okay. So then it's loud enough for live i guess. Thanks!
YOU ARE SO BLESSED TO BE ABLE TO PLAY LIKE THAT.TOTALLY AMAZING.
Haha thanks. You can too it just takes practice.
