I personally interpreted Filter as Jimin saying that bc he’s a celeb people can choose their own perception of him, whichever one fits best. We choose which version of him we like the most, even though we don’t know him personally. And because he’s a performer, he tries his best to be live up to all of our ideas of him
You may be very right, also Jimin is aware of what he causes in his fans and I include myself hahaha so he simply wants us to love him according to how we observe him.
I always feel like its a bitter sweet sentiment. He bends backwards to be what every fan wants at the same time... this song is fun and so great to look at but most of Bts' deep songs are, so I always interpret it as him recognizing that his true self has its place in the backseat so that everyone can be happy.

i really love how jimin plays w the concept of genre assigned clothes in his choreography, that really represents him very well
I really love Filter because it seems like a happy, fun, flirty song. But when you know Jimin and what he went through because he tried to fit in people's expectations and desires, it's just heartbreaking. You realize that he is talking about wearing a mask, a filter, to suit the taste of the person he is singing to. Filter is actually super sad when you think about it: it's about how he is ready to erase his true self to be what someone else wants. Filter is basically Fake Love's and Singularity's sister.

These two performances were just too much for me to handle. Jk in that outfit and his hair I can’t. I loved Jimin performance so much. I’m just so in love with Jimin. His moves are just so fluid, smooth, and sexy. I can’t handle this man. He knows what he’s doing. I’m telling u I’ve never been so attracted to a human being in my entire life. the my time performance you watched actually has the middle part of the song and choreo cut out, which is why there’s that weird cut. so maybe when you react to day 1 of filter you should react to that part of my time or my time again to get the whole song:)

@@caitlinbensonn it makes sense. this concert was super well kept under wraps in terms of streamers and uploaders for a good while, so most of the videos were taken down. those of us who didn’t have tickets were stream hoping like crazy to see the whole performance, i’m impressed there’s still recordings of it up.
I had a ticket for the day 1 ONE concert - it was like at 6 am for me - when I saw Jimin do that hand move... I screamed so hard I woke up everyone in my house!

Jimin's filter performance makes even more sense when you know the lyrics of the song. The song itself is basically about him assuming different personas, putting on different 'filters', in order to seduce someone, or you could even see the girl in the song as representing 'the audience' or both simultaneously. He finds out their type, what they're attracted to, and becomes whatever it takes for them to fall for him... You can see this in jimin putting on the clothes throughout the routine... But by the end of the song, he's basically saying he himself becomes the filter over their heart, he becomes what they desire beyond any other 'type' they may have had before...and covers 'her' / 'us' with his umbrella... Honestly as a long time fan of BTS... It's a song that's sooo Jimin it's insane.

In terms of lyrics, whenever I think, wow that’s a good lyric or line (this is subjective, I know), I see that RM was credited and is often listed high on the list of contributors. Also, yes, JK knows exactly what he’s doing.

It is not a mystery :-D He prerecorded one part of his performance, same goes with Suga and Shadow ;-)
@@evickar1 I saw someone on Twitter say that he actually did change without a prerecorded scene. You can see when the dancers went out revealing his new outfit that there are dancers taking clothes and it’s an illusion. There was also one of the dancers taking Jimin’s jacket and sliding it away with their foot in the same scene, though it’s easily not noticeable because of the other distractions (the black fabric some of the dancers were also throwing being one of them). I think you can see it more clearly in the day 1 concert.

Hi Caitlin. You finally reacted to these two performances :D Just some info regarding these: the perfromances were from their online concerts, which were paid and made difficult to leak, but got leaked nonetheless. These performances had multicam views, and many leaked videos were from one particular angle. It is worth checking other angles if you can find them. Also, Jimin's performance on the first day with red first a white shirt and then a red suit was even more fire than the second day performance! Check that one also if you can find it

So I watched the day 2 concert and let me tell you, it was an emotional roller coaster of jaw dropping, tear jerker, awe inspiring madness!! When I was amazed by RM’s “Persona” and Suga’s “Shadow” performances, my jaw dropped at Jk’s “My Time” and Jimin’s “Filter” performances, I bawled my eyes out because of V’s “Inner Child” and Jin’s “Moon” performances and last, but not least I was smiling ear to ear from J-Hope’s Ego performance! It was magical and technically my first BTS concert.💜
I stayed up all night and the next morning I took a nap and then proceeded to show my family the replay! They’re not into BTS(They don’t have any hate towards them either), but they indulged me because they know how much I love the guys!! And they could appreciate all the hard work that went into their performances.

Oh no! The “my time” version cut his dance break/floor work/AB reveal. 🥵 I know it’s probably hard to find a good version since this was a paid concert & copies of the performance were removed en-masse. Also, I preferred JK’s day 1 outfit which was all black leather and you could see his dance moves better. Day 2 when he came out in this red outfit there was a collective scream heard round the world because he has NEVER worn outfits like this in any of his group or solo performances.
The korean age system is very different . According to korean age system,
You are one year old when you were born and again 1 more year old every new year ( you don't age on your birthday , you age every new year)
You can count korean age like this :-

So jungkook is actually 23 but his korean age is 25 now
And I am 16 but my korean age is 18
I think filter is way more deeper than we can thought at first time, the whole concept of map of the soul is kinda like find yourself and be who you are with all of your shadows, so I do think filter talks about jimin as a celebrity, how sometimes he needs to present a different persona to be able to molde himself into everyone's standars and how sometimes he can't be able to show his true self, for me is a very deep song with a catchy rithym (like all of bts's discography lol)

I knew I recognized the choreo style of "My Time," some sections were choreographed by the dancer, choreographer, and singer Brian Puspos. I love his style when it comes to dance. He also choreographed some of Butterfly and Serendipity. Butterfly was the first time he actually SENT IN choreo to the company, but three of the members have covered one of his dances before.
I saw the live online concert of My Time and literally couldn’t breathe! Guuurrrrlll I couldn’t breathe!!! The different views available was a present!!! 💜 JK all grew up!

Congrats on your subs! When I saw this concert. I damn near collapsed every time JK grabbed his thigh and I had to pause to breathe during Jimin’s performance at the end of Filter. Day 1 was BOMB. Their outfits with JK in black leather & Jimin switching into the red suit. OMG. I seriously cannot hear either one of these songs again without picturing them being all “grown” in those performances. I’m telling you they broke the internet that day. The clips you watched were from the concert day 2. I saw day 1 concert, there Jungkook was in a BLACK. LEATHER. JACKET. and. PANTS. Both outfits he wore for day 1 and 2 blew me away.
Also for Jimin................sighs...........Oh Jimin...............
He wore a red suit on day 1, here he wore a purple one. I barely was recovering from Jungkook, and they had the nerve to put "Filter," and Jimin COMPLETELY SHATTERED me!

He's also reflecting on everything he can't have because of this lifestyle he's in, but is vowing that someday he will have (finna to find my time) those close relationships with friends, family, and yes, even romantic relationships.
