This was, without a doubt, the most comprehensive, easy to understand, tutorial for the Flip Flop Journal I’ve watched; and I have watched many. I had given up on making one. The best part of all, for me, was your showing your completed journal as you explained each section. It made it much easier to follow and understand. You explained it clearly, without saying, “Opps, wait a second, now, how did I do that?”. OMG! The stops and starts that others have had trying to explain it, just made me throw my hands up. I realize that it was not an easy concept to explain, but I’m so grateful that you’ve mastered it. Thank you so very much. I must now get busy! 👏🏽⭐️💜🙇🏽♀️
I’m so glad this was helpful to you! I felt the same way about other “tutorials “, they were just very frustrating to try to follow. I tried to provide as many visual examples as I could to make it easy to follow and happy to hear it made a difference. The great thing is that there are so many different ways to put the envelopes together to create other variations of the journal. Thanks for watching and happy crafting.😀
Thanks very much! I really wanted to make sure it was easy to see where the signatures and the envelope bases were. I appreciate you watching and hope you give one a try!😀
Thank you so much this is the first tutorial I think I could follow. Could I ask you how many pages you put in for a signature I’m dying to give this a go x
I’m so glad this was easy to follow! I put 3 and a maximum of 4 pages in each signature. As there are 5 spots to add a signature I wanted to spread out the bulk! You could definitely add more in if you want a really chunky journal! Thanks for watching😀
You explained the process so well. It looks pretty simple to do. I love how you decorated your journal. You have inspired me! Thank you. I’m going to subscribe to your channel. 🥰🌻
Hi Deb. Thanks very much! I used 3 and a maximum of 4 sheets in each signature. Since there are 5 places to add signatures I wanted to spread the pages out to minimize having bulk in just 1 or 2 spots. Hope that helps and happy crafting!😀
@@annabellagardner3190 glad it was helpful. You can add as many pages to a signature as you would like. I only added 3-4 because there are many spots for signatures and I knew I would be adding a lot of tags, pockets etc so wanted to spread out the bulk! Happy crafting!
Yes, you made it so easy to see where all the flaps are coming from. Thank you ❤. And all in under 10 minutes. I'm planning to give it a try. Love your journal ❤.
Thank you so much for the clear tutorial Beth! I also found other tutorials confusing, gave me major visual-spatial issues 😂 I made a couple that turned out very different because of my folding haha! Excited to try it again! ❤
Very clear instructions, thank you! The side-by-side comparison made it all click into my brain quite easily. And it didn't take you 50 minutes to do it. Great job! I've saved this and will be revisiting it as I make mine.
This was so much easier for me to understand. Excellent tutorial. I followed along and made prototypes and added all the notes onto the envelopes. Thank you so much
Beth, This is the best instruction for the flip journal. I found it extremely helpful to see yours side by side. Your journal looks so gorgeous. Thank you for making this video.
Thanks so much Julie! I am happy the “how to “ and the side-by-side were helpful! Once I figured it out I knew I had to share what I did because everything else I came across was just too confusing. Happy crafting and thanks for watching😀
Thanks. Very clear. I’ve seen so many of these being shown on Instagram etc . My question is how robust are they as a journal with covers made of envelopes. Do you reinforce all those “spines”. You journal is beautiful. ❤
Thanks so much! I didn’t reinforce the spines as the background papers cover them and I used the aged tape to make sure any weak areas were reinforced. You could definitely use masking tape, washi tape or Tyvec to reinforce the spines. Even tough they are made of envelopes they end up being very sturdy with the addition of the background paper, pockets, etc. Hope that helps! Thanks very much for watching 😀
Thank you thank you ❤ so much. I totally get it now. I was mystified until your vid. Watched And watched other tutorials but was too confusing to figure out ❤️🧚♂️❤️🧚♂️❤️🧚♂️

I quickly made one last night after watching your tutorial. I do have many questions though. I worked through them myself and did “ok” I think… but do you decorate or cover each envelope page? I had some not so pretty exposed edges of my security envelops I had to deal with.
I’m glad you gave one a try! I don’t cover each envelope individually, instead I cover the entire front and back sides. Hope that is helpful and makes sense!
THANK YOU! This was very simple to understand and I am now excited to make one. I’ve wanted to make one, but found flip throughs of completed too hard to figure out. Now I’d like to see you complete this journal. ❤ SayessDesign.
I sewed the signatures into each section using a 3-hole pamphlet stitch. There are around 5 pages in each section as I knew I was going to embellish them quite a bit; you could definitely put in more if that is your preference.
Thanks very much for watching! I put 4 or 5 pages in each signature because I knew I was going to be adding lots of trim, tags, pockets etc that would add bulk. You could definitely add more pages if you want it to be more of a writing journal. Hope that helps!😀

Hope that is helpful and makes sense!
so well explained!! I liked the comparison of the "done" one and the blank one. Super clear. Thank you.
Thank you Sandra! Thanks for watching 😀
THANK YOU! This was very simple to understand and I am now excited to make one. I’ve wanted to make one, but found flip throughs of completed too hard to figure out. Now I’d like to see you complete this journal.

How do you sew in the pages? How many pages do you include in each signature?
I sewed the signatures into each section using a 3-hole pamphlet stitch. There are around 5 pages in each section as I knew I was going to embellish them quite a bit; you could definitely put in more if that is your preference.
Thank you for this wonderful, clear, easy to follow tutorial. You make it seem easy and do able. Kathy
Thank you Kathy! I hope you give one a try😊

So glad this was helpful! Thanks for watching and enjoy decorating😀
Great information and demo of this flip flop journal. Thank you so much. Question: How many pages approx. in a signature.
Thanks very much for watching! I put 4 or 5 pages in each signature because I knew I was going to be adding lots of trim, tags, pockets etc that would add bulk. You could definitely add more pages if you want it to be more of a writing journal. Hope that helps!😀
Great video. Your explanation was spot on.
