The rubbish is quite bulky because of the tins, and cups. That will have to be disposed of somehow. I believe that ALL of the food would be eaten, as this is for a colder climate, for a soldier using up thousands of calories in active duty. You'd be surprised how much you eat when your constantly moving.
Thanks for the tip. Because they are freeze dried It would take a long time (possibly overnight), and it could result in a mush. They were delicious though, as the process concentrates the natural flavour.

Realistically if a soldier was to carry this how much of this ration would be left behind?
