I like banger racing like this. Everyone gets a chance to roar around like a nut, with the intention of getting past the others and winning. The cars go back to the pits, get bashed back into a 'drive-able' state, ready for the next race. Driving skill and surviving is worth paying to watch. These skills learned used to be the apprenticeship for the would-be stock-car driver. I stopped going to racing when the object became to destroy other cars with no intention of winning the race. Why not save it for the DD? give everyone else on low funds a chance to race without being scrapped on the first lap. If I ever get that far north, I'll certainly visit Cowdenbeath to see good racing.
