If you can stay with your son till he recovers from his flu, just ring the school tomorrow morning ,tell them he has come down with a flu and would be kept at home with you till he recovers, so he doesn't spread the flu around the classroom, as some inconsiderate parents and teachers do coming to school with flu, then follow it up with his dad dropping a letter to the school secretary with you having a copy for reference. Absence from school for travelling is termed as unauthorized absence ! However, absence for communicable conditions such as flu, with prior permission approved from the school, cannot be classified as unauthorized absence, brethren. L10 from me.
