Hey Angelica 👋, driving the old reliable Scania thats great. You get some great variety at your job! That was brave trying the blue jug for a lift, hey whatever is available right! You know what works is winter windshield washer fluid for your buckle rachet units, if you have some in a old bottle you can give it a a squirt to keep n them free. If they are kept outside in the cold they will usually stay free from freezing up, because the mechanism is the same temp as the air, as bringing it from the warm cab to the outside melts the snow on it. Stay safe!!

Worked for a Moving Company,Couple Ladies came in with a 40 ft flat bed to pick up overseas boxed shipment . Watched them throwing chains over those 8 ft tall boxes on the trailer! NO MISSES every chain one throw. Inpressive Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year Angelica!

Ya must agree anything under -15c is a nice day. -30c to -40c and no windchill and the sun shining is a happy day and just cold. Anything after -40c is a hard day cause equipment starts to break down and tempers flare to fast.

Great Video Angelica! I've hauled flatbed for over 20 years and never had my straps freeze up and my climate up north is always freezing and snowing. You should be separating the ratchet from the strap each time. Then roll the strap up tight, and then you only have to throw it over the load. No ladder, no buckets, I toss straps over 14' high loads everyday. Leaving the strap connected in the ratchet is why they are freezing up.
