You had better be able to do 6 1/2 knots if you want to go through the locks at Bonneville Dam during the spring run off. Waiting for a good tail wind helps a lot.

yeah, that freaking green buoy, I couldn't get past it forever, last summer going to Stevenson.
By the way, John, I like your enthusiasm about sailing the Gorge. Your videos made me realize that I made a mistake of buying too big of a boat(cal34) for (predictably) single handling the river.
