At about 2:55 you start getting to the business of what I am looking for. I want to use both styles in my playing. It is the changing from TB to pucker that I have to work on. You make it sound easy. I will be working on this. Another great video Ronnie
Ok more accurately I started teaching myself after one of Ronnie’s videos. 2 years in I was at a hump so I contacted him and set an appointment. It was a great one on one.
I love these free form vids. I have always been a hybrid player, and I bend lip pursed. Guitar is my main instrument, and I use both a pick and fingers, both bring a different sound for different tunes, much like puckering and tongue blocking.
Kerry Crowel I completely agree. I think between tb and pursing, as well as using fingers or pick, we get the best of both worlds. I play a lot with no pick and it sounds nice and warm, it forces me to choose better notes as it isn’t as fast as with a pick. Great fun too!
Ronnie i am from Goa India and i play diatonic mouth harp. Which microohone shud i go for. I play pop rock reggae jazz little of blues etc. Your reply is apprecited. Thks
I'd same similar ballpark but material differences (bamboo vs plastic) influence the feel and sound a bit. Crossover has a slightly mellower tone but both are great.
Hi Ron, thanks for your time sharing with us. For my ears and guts, your harp playing fits best. I have one question considering tongue blocking: Hole four bend. Are there situations when you tongue block there? Thanks for a short answer. Gruss from Southern Germany
I started with puckering for three years now for the past few months I'm trying to play everything tongue blocked including bends apart from overblows!
The marine band deluxe had a problem with the gapping when they first came out and that hurt sales of what was a fine instrument when the gaps were adjusted, now I believe the company corrected the gaps but did not do a great PR campaign so sales suffered. I like the MBD better than the crossover.
I've learned more in one video than an entire series from other you tube videos! Awesome video. Thank you!!!
thanks

Ur the best teacher. Ty
I think 3 pucker to 4 tb is one of the best exercises to introduce blocking.
Thanks Ronnie for another great video.

How does crossover compared to hohner Rocket Amp ?? Are they in same ball park or major different ????

ambitious!
I love how you combine both methods!
The marine band deluxe had a problem with the gapping when they first came out and that hurt sales of what was a fine instrument when the gaps were adjusted, now I believe the company corrected the gaps but did not do a great PR campaign so sales suffered. I like the MBD better than the crossover.
I have both a MBD and a crossover and in my opinion the crossover is by far the better instrument. It does everything better than the MBD.
Talking about ambition, mine is to be as close in my playing to you and your contemporaries as I can. You are a terrific inspiration!
Thanks Ronnie great video :)
thank YOU
let the man teach
I have been playing approximately 5 years. I thought blocking was a lie lol. But not no more.
Great advice BUT....
I had to watch this video with a mirror because your camera is backwards so all the Harmonica positions were too. 👎🏻
that's the default camera angle of TH-cam live..not my fault
