In the words of Eddy McGee "What? A ruin the plot?" But in Morty's defense, I think Morty DID ask him later, and then we got that bit with Fred, and the rest of the episode. But Rick simply didn't do it as Morty expected.
Morty learns Rick's "famous spaghetti" is the byproduct of an alien race that resemble humans and their insides turn into the most delicious batch of spaghetti in the event of suicide (the greater the suffering of the life, the tastier the batch). Morty blows this secret to the alien planet both to ease his conscience (and to spite Rick) only to find out in just a week that the planet decided to capitlize on their unique biology and sell spaghetti made from suicidal people to every market in the universe. This involves making the planet a miserable industrialized Hell hole, reducing spending on mental health, even making their sun grey to increase suicidal ideation in the population. Morty objects to this and Rick and the alien government decide to work together to figure out how to make consistent flow of spaghetti without turning its citizens into livestock. This is one method: cloning featureless torsos that have basic life functions (and no brain to reduce questions of snuffing out a soul) and one clawed hand to kill itself with to fufill the suicide requirement in the spaghetti process. Too bad it didn't go anywhere because there are still groups that find it ethically problematic and consumers think the spaghetti made from the cloned torsos tastes subpar.
