How I Became a Minimalist as a Person Who Lived in a Cluttered Home

- When I was a child, people around me never threw stuff away. Nobody was a minimalist. Or even knew what minimalism was.
When items such as clothing, household goods, and appliances are difficult to obtain, you hold onto them as long as possible. Even if they’re worn out or you no longer need them. It was like that not because of a bad taste. It was like that because of the scarcity.
I’ve lived in such an environment for the most part of my life. So it’s no wonder that now I prefer uncluttered spaces and neutral colours. My background and experience as a child made me adopt a minimalist lifestyle in the first place.
Only later in life I learned about other benefits of the minimalistic approach which can be applied not only to consumption, but also to goal setting, schedule, tasks, and much more. And I’m ready to share them with you in this video. Enjoy!

One day I’ll probably go crazy and try to fit my entire existence into a backpack…
I want to do the same!! :)
Currently attempting this! admittedly with a carry-on suitcase and backpack. I'm immigrating to South Korea in September to marry my fiancé and we are both broke and cant afford much so I can't ship anything over or have checked luggage as it costs more and there's more risk in losing it, where as carry-on luggage is cheaper and stays with me so I won't lose it :) I've been attempting and partly practicing extreme minimalism for a while now so its not been too hard and I think I'll successfully pull it off
Wishing you all the best as you prepare for your move and start this new chapter
Your journey from cramped living to embracing minimalism is truly inspiring! It's a powerful reminder that focusing on what truly matters can not only declutter our spaces but also our minds, leading to greater productivity and fulfillment. 🌟
Thank you! I'm really glad to hear that my experience resonates with you:)

Minimalism is the best decision I ever made🌱Thanks for sharing this video!
Sophia, thanks for watching! And yes, it's amazing how simplifying a life can bring so much clarity and joy:)
I'm trying to find some kinda balance between minimalism and essentialism, when you only have the things you need, love and take care of
Quality always goes first, nice rule 'less is more'
Darya, thank you so much for your comment! Your idea that "quality always goes first" resonates with me a lot. I'm also learning and trying to find that balance, to do things and own things which are important to me.
Спасибо за часть комментария на русском! Это было неожиданно и приятно:) Я в той же ситуации. Если мне что-то интересно, то скорее всего про это информации много..но она вся на английском.
Я родилась на севере, поэтому привет из Сибири получить особенно классно!
People who dont enjoy shopping will never undertand or relate to maximalist or hoarders😅
Yeah, you’re probably right😅
Just subscribed to your channel.. i’m a minimalist at heart, working towards more simplicity every day! I’d love a video about your minimalist wardrobe… especially being in Canada with our weather extremes.. at least here on the East cost. 😅
Thank you so much for subscribing! It's great to have you here 😊
And thanks for the suggestion! It would be interesting to make a video about a versatile and minimalist wardrobe. I live on the West Coast (in Vancouver), but I went to Toronto last year and can say for sure that the weather there can be extreme. The wind was crazy!
This is so amazing! Absolutely fantastic-o! Muches gracias, Katya. In all seriousness, it brought tears to my eyes, very inspirational video!
Thank you, it means the world to me!
I've recently started learning Spanish, so "De nada" will be my answer to you:)
Enjoyed this video so much! Spasiba 😊
I'm so glad! And you're so welcome! (or in Russian "pozhaloysta"😊)
I am attempting to save money and become a financial minimalist.
That's great! Financial minimalism is a game-changer.
Great video Katya. Subscribed! I'm on exactly the same path as you. С наилучшими пожеланиями из Англии.
Thank you so much, and welcome! I'm glad to see you here:)
Btw it's so nice of you to write a sentence in Russian
@@katyaemelianov It's my pleasure! I want to learn Russian, but had to use DeepL translator app this time. Hopefully one day I won't need the translator. Have a lovely day.
