I lived briefly with a friend who's property was in an older neighborhood with a HOA...I at first was horrified but the older people were suprisingly really pleasant. Just a bunch of nanas getting together in meetings to share baked goods and go "Elise and Jeff haven't done their yard lets go make sure they're okay and help them out". I wish all HOA's were like that one. It was nice, they paid for plowing the snow, leaf clean up, and had monthly potlucks.

When I buy the rent pack I think it would be super cool to build a China Town. Theres one an hour or so away from me and the architecture is beautiful. Some of the shops are multi level and go into the ground, so you could utilize the basement tool, I think some items from snowy escape, the rent pack and cityliving would be so cool!
I loved this build so much I stuck my Mint heir in one of the houses. so far 5 people have died in the swimming pools, and they grill nonstop in the park area so there's always free food. 10/10 sims experience

I don't live in an HOA, but the city has a few drivers that go around, and if a yard looks too high, then they'll measure it. They will give 1 warning, 2nd time will be a fine, 3rd time they'll put a lean on your home/eviction. I got a warning last year 😂. It rained for 2 weeks straight non stop, they got out in the rain and measured where it was 2 inches too tall. (5in high) Nuts😂

hi there! i'm a very, extremely, ultra-new beginner at sims. i've played sims castaway before, back when i was a pre-teen. but i just recently got a laptop that can run sims 4 and i've been playing like crazy. my favorite part tho, is obviously the building. i currently have none of the expansion packs or dlcs, so i'm building completely with just the base game stuff. as i'm a beginner, i know no cheats or mods whatsoever. one day youtube recommended me one of your videos, i think it was the one where you let the game run for 24 hours. it was so fun, and then i watched your build videos and it has inspired me to up my build game (haha) and i've learned as well as unlearned some habits and i feel like my builds are getting better and better. i'm constantly refurnishing/redecorating my home, and i've even learned that landscaping is so so so important to making your lot look so much better. i've never ever filled an entire lot before, but since watching you i've made a pool, decorated said pool, designed an entire patio as well as spend HOURS landscaping. i even added a front porch area. i also learned the nice touch of an entryway, as well as the importance of DECORATING hallways. i do have some more ideas in mind, and i'll wait for my sims to earn a bit more money before i can add a second floor, because as of now it's only a 1 bedroom 1 bathroom, with an extra room focused on skill building items. once i'm done with the second floor, i'll definitely upload it into the gallery and i'll update here what i title it so whoever's interested in seeing my first build (ever!!) can find it and see how i did. sorry for the little storytime. thanks to anyone who read (:

I am from the Philippines. We call townhouses here as "subdivision." I currently reside in a subdivision and we are in HOA. We pay monthly fees. The subdivision actually employs residents from low income households as townhouse security guards. They also take care of sorting garbages, keeping the subdivision clean, etc. No ridiculous bossing around.😂 Just wanted to share! Hi from the PH, Kayla!👋
I have been playing on this lot for weeks! I’ve already lost a neighbor to the telescope, and for some reason Flower Bunny stayed at the neighbor’s pool all through the summer. I think one of the houses might have a glitched backyard, other sims were stuck with him until I teleported all of them out
I think it would be really cool to have your viewrs create sims and give them personalities and storylines and you build the house around that, your personal builds for your own sims are always the best!!!
I liked the IDEA of the yellow shutters, but those specific shutters were simply too subtle a swatch. It looked less like the shutters were painted yellow and more like the wood was left unpainted and unfinished.
For residential rentals cinemas work well, i always use little lots and do like tight micro apartments and makes like cinema. I did a little Japanese city with a cinema and a dojo and some storage as well. In england we have listed buildings, so if you buy any sort of old building you cant do anything, there are listed buildings which arent allowed double glazing, heating or new pipes its really weird
At least listed buildings are listed for the purpose of preserving the historical accuracy of the building, though I can't imagine those homes are anything but absolutely miserable to live in I can kind of see the point. In some HOAs they won't even let you have your grass above a certain length, and you're restricted to only certain colours of car just because it apparently makes a street look untidy if people live in it. Madness.
always loved the idea of a commune with friends! very eco life cottage core vibes. we've all had those conversations of "lets all just pool our money and buy some land and live in tiny houses with a farm"
18:04 FUN FACT ABOUT CATS When cats go to their "adulthood" all of thier white whiskers will fell off and never show again just be replaced with black ones instead. People usually dont notice it but on black cats its really easy to see!! I have a black cat myself and learned it when his white whiskers fell off!
My cat lived for almost 19 years and he never once had whiskers any other color than white. So that might be a bit too broad of a statement from you. Still, it's interesting that it happens for some cats apparently! :)
Ehm, my cats (grey&white tuxedo & mainly white tabby) and my sister's cat (orange), all that lived way into adulthood, all had white whiskers 🤔 only my family's solid black cat had black whiskers. Also my grandmother's calico, that had mainly black coloured face, even she has completely white whiskers and she is almost 20 😅
This is true of some black cats, but cats with multiple pigments in their coat (or even just dark cats with different gene mixes) can have white whiskers their entire lives. My cats both have white whiskers at the age of 8. One is a tabby, one is a tortie. They've never had black whiskers at all. If anything, I believe the majority of cat breeds have white whiskers. The pigment thing applies to their toe pads too - if the pad is in a dark pigmented area of fur, the toe pad will be black. If it's in a light pigmented fur area, the pad will be pink. My tortie has both colours 😂
I'd love to see a contrasty family house with like maximalist parents, a minimalist kid, a goth kid, a pastel cheerleader kid, and Victorian grandparents
Beautiful build - can’t wait to download! I currently live in a HOA… the ONLY two things I like about it are lawn care/snow removal and not having to worry about junk cars, boats, campers, etc., cluttering up the neighborhood. Other than that, it can be a pain in the butt. 🙄
haha we actually have something similar to HOA in Finland at least. mostly for like a chain of smaller houses that all look the same, or an apartment building. the houses are all the same red shade where my parents live in a vhain of like 8 houses i think? the fee they pay goes for like the paint they used to paint all the houses, and for water and heating system upkeep. but its a democracy, idk how the HOA is run :D
*Idea for a big build* • A vault. From fall out. •A decades challenge homestead. From the early 1900’s. •Huge Boarding House/School for young girls. •Beach luxury spa resort.
I have an HOA and its so much better than renting. My only issue with it is if I wanted a dog I can't get a Dobermann like I had growing up. Because they get a bad rep as an aggressive breeds even though my Dobermann was the sweetest dog ever and so good with my brothers and I as kids under 10. But I'm fine with just cats. I do think it's dumb.
Simsie doesn't enjoy building mansions very much, even with the castle, on the inside it was not large by any means. the mansion in snowy escape was built by her tho I believe
@awdatzya I realize that, but she asked for suggestions for big builds. Classic Japanese mansion compounds are made of several buildings I'm talking Edo period ish. They have a main building with several out buildings and large grounds for gardens and such. I also stated that I know she built some of the Snowy Escape builds including the mansion. I appreciate the attempt at info though.
Mooaaaaarrrrr Castles! Castle renovated to modern apartments. Could make a kind of trailer park neighbourhood? Row of cottages with a local shop/ post office. Make a bland copy and paste new build estate for a mega renovation/ customisation project. Small community with shared allotments. There's been some interesting hospital renovations into flats in Edinburgh - something like that, combining very old qith new could be cool. ❤
Lilsimsie please do a greyscale build or an inverted colour build for TH-cam. So when building and decorating you don't know what colour you have used until you change settings back on your computer. Would love to see it. 😊
An amusement park! I would love to see a huge amusement park with the rides from high school years, food stalls, splash pads, skating, bowling, the works!
You should a new thing, perhaps once a month, where you choose a random person from your chat and build something they request but with just the packs that they have. Ex. "Could you build a mansion with dream home decorator and growing together?" It would be such a fun idea that would involve the community but would also provide people with more accessable builds that include less packs!
my all black cat has like 3-4 white whiskers now (they are actually getting more so i'm not sure how many he has rn) but whenever they fall out they actually grow back white! so don't worry, shrimp will probably have his white whisker back pretty soon :)
I find neighborhood builds so fascinating. It rarely occurs to me to put multiple buildings or homes on a single lot, unless I'm building townhouses, even on the biggest lots, so this a great reminder to keep those creative juices flowing. I think the idea of a mini blue suburban was a fun way to poke fun at yourself and start this kind of build challenge with. Please consider doing more!
My friend brought home a kitten about a year ago because she worried her extremely social orange boy was lonely while she was at work since she does not have roommates currently so he is by himself. The first photo of them together that she ever sent was super funny, the orange cat is smelling the little gray tabby kitten with this "what the heck are YOU?????" expression. They're buddies, and the kitten is bigger than his brother now! Soon Shrimp will be bigger than Snap too, boy cats get big!
my idea for a big build! a shopping center/street lined with shops, maybe attached, with living quarters on the top floor and the shops on the bottom. maybe some boutiques, a gym, etc. stuff you'd see irl where there are apartments over the stores
Would love you to build something like this but just 2 BIG mansions in a “gated community”. Rival families complete opposites and having to live in the same 2 home gated community! That would be so fun!
You should make the most unpractical home/lot! With stuff like bunk beds and switch the sink types in the kitchen/bathroom, and like a lot of walls and doors! And a really time consuming layout!❤
Lovely build! as usual! I'd love for you to build an apartment building with like common areas on the first floor (laundry, gym/ spa, library/study nook and such) :) I'd also love it if it was mostly base game :)
Snap liking Shrimp more makes sense because he was so obsessed with her. That’s so cute, I’m glad they’ve warmed up to each other ❤ also love the build as always lol
I think it would be super cool to do a neighborhood but each house is a color of the rainbow, so sort of like a combination of not so berry and the one color build challenge
When you said you had bad news about the cats my heart dropped. I honestly thought one of them was sick or you had to give them away. Althoguh the loss of the white whisker is sad, i’m glad it’s only that!
Some custom content would make the houses look awesome. But I like the idea of the blue suburbia idea. It's a nice idea for sims 4 for rent cause it be awesome to see a large family move in those and charge them rent
When Kayla mentioned “we don’t have reptiles in sims” I was wondering what else sims were gonna do with animals, I honestly think reptiles could be next! Like school pets, like a turtle or hamster or something, and then like snakes and lizards. I know Kayla doesn’t have any insider knowledge but it would be cool to see those sorts of animals
thought this would be a fun relaxing video, but you've got me all steamed up about my own HOA, haha. I'd love to see a play through to punish a Sims HOA board (probably the Landgrabs)
I currently live in an apartment building with something like an “HOA” we cant paint our balconies the color we want, or put blinds the color we want, so people outside see everything as one thing. But im about to move to another apartment complex that you can change everything, including the outside doors, the building looks so alive, so lived in!! Everybody can express their individuality (as long as you respect your neighbors).
Neighborhood idea: each house is a different pet. Like one house is for a kooky cat lady, another fosters dogs, a third has turned the garage into a stable for their horse, a marine biologist with fish in every single room of the house, RAT MAN It could be really neat!
Simsie talking about there being no lizards in the Sims is making me want lizards in the Sims. I will even accept a lizard kit or a my first lizard stuff pack, with the lizard basically being the new hamsters, but I would loooooooove to have my own gecko in the game!
I appreciate lilsimsie so much and what a kind and sweet person she is ❤ It was amazing to watch the building and hear the jokes about the HOA but also for her to point out the really dark side of it too because it's not good. Everyone deserves love and respect and lilsimsie always provides such a welcoming atmosphere with amazing builds!
I am obsessed with your builds. You have such a good eye for detail. When you were talking about the cloud room on the last build I was looking away from my phone and didn't hear you correctly and thought you said it was a clown room. Gave me anxiety till I looked at my phone and saw it was clouds hahaha keep up the good work! Hopefully I can learn the mechanics of building in the sims like you some day 😜
This build could not come at a better time! I’ve been building a legacy family and the kids have grown and one is married but I hadn’t moved them out yet. It’s all so pretty and I will be using every single one :)
7:10 Yeah honestly it's really fascinating hearing about this stuff because where I'm from in Australia, we don't have those mesh screens! The drop bears would get annoyed and chew through them so we have to keep the area open and hope they pass through peacefully
Kayla I dont know if youre reading this, but when I am saying you are changing my life constantly with your content and art I really mean that, I really do agree with people that you pull all the darkness away and throw it into ur fire toilet and make everything amazing ... And the difference between yours content and others.. oh my god...no clowning around no faking no cringing no screaming no fake content to bate the children to click .. revolutionary.. I truly thank you for all your work including ur team.
I've lived in an area with HOAs for like my whole life and never rly paid attention to what they did but hearing simsie explain it makes them seem so ridiculous and I can't believe they still exist
I really enjoyed this build. I think the castle town sounds interesting. Like the main building is a castle then on the road leading up to it there’s cottages, farms, and shops. That would be super cool!
I absolutely love this build! All the houses are so fun and unique and have so much personality, and it really looks like an actual neighborhood. A build like this is something that could possibly compel me to get some more packs, because it looks like such a fun and lively place to have in my world!
I didn't grow up in an area with an HOA, but I actually don't think I've ever seen any Sims builds look quite so much like the town I grew up in. Maybe just because the "lots" are closer together, or because the houses are different styles? And yeah, we had a dead end street just like that near me, which was where all the kids in the neighborhood went to learn to ride their bikes! My sister and I even had bedrooms with dormers just like the third house-- I had a bookshelf and reading chair in mine, and my sister had her bed in hers!
Maybe a pet-inspired neighborhood; with lots of shared outdoor park-like space, the dog training set and maybe one of the houses doubles as the local vet.
I absolutely love this video. I love your suburban houses, and it was so cool to basically see the ultimate evolution of the blue suburban. With an entire neighborhood of them. But like you said, each one of them is different. I really like each of them. It’s hard to pick a favorite. I also love that All of them are families. So they all have kids, but the different ages, I would love to be able to see a show about the families that live in this neighborhood. And all the kids hang out in the treehouse. And like all the kids get along, but not all the parents get along.this was really awesome
The Landgrabs would definitely run the HOA of Oasis Springs just for the sake of it
The accuracy of this!!!
True!😂😂😂
I'm picturing annoyed Nancy eyeing your home while passing it on the street. What would be her rules, what do you think?
their rule is 1 toilet per house and it must be difficult to get to.
The temptation to make the land grabs the landlord of at least half the mid oasis springs neighborhood is strong and i dont even have the pack yet
Relevant suggestion: You should find a list of crazy HOA rules and use those as a build challenge

Madness.
wow, the Japanese lot sounds really good, would you mind sharing your gallery ID?

I dont mind when she always build blue surburbans, I love blue 😊💙
always loved the idea of a commune with friends! very eco life cottage core vibes. we've all had those conversations of "lets all just pool our money and buy some land and live in tiny houses with a farm"
18:04 FUN FACT ABOUT CATS
When cats go to their "adulthood" all of thier white whiskers will fell off and never show again just be replaced with black ones instead. People usually dont notice it but on black cats its really easy to see!! I have a black cat myself and learned it when his white whiskers fell off!
My cats whiskers are white and he’s 6…?
Make a monarch apartment. Like windsor with part a museum
*Idea for a big build*
• A vault. From fall out.
•A decades challenge homestead. From the early 1900’s.
•Huge Boarding House/School for young girls.
•Beach luxury spa resort.
Id love a video about window and roof placement tips. I’m good at the layout and decor parts, but I’m especially bad at the window placement!
as a european, an HOA sounds insane!! its like renting a place but only the bad parts of renting!
There needs to be laws about what hoas can and can’t do
I have an HOA and its so much better than renting.
@@CrownedLilycan’t imagine owning a home and still letting somebody else tell me what pets I can and can’t keep there
basements would have been amazing for this build. Fun family play rooms and for skill building.
Basements would’ve made it SUPER realistic American vibes haha especially if one had a walk-out basement
@@sabrinadamron2332 Simsie forgets they exist haha, It's that Floridan trait shining through lol
I know you did a few builds for Snowy Escape. Have you considered doing a classic Japanese Mansion compound for a big build?
Neighbourhoods, other big builds, and castle builds are my favourites omg bestie there can never be too much of that
my all black cat has like 3-4 white whiskers now (they are actually getting more so i'm not sure how many he has rn) but whenever they fall out they actually grow back white! so don't worry, shrimp will probably have his white whisker back pretty soon :)
Shrimp is actually already bigger than snap! She’s mentioned it on stream a few times, I always love hearing about her cats :)
my idea for a big build! a shopping center/street lined with shops, maybe attached, with living quarters on the top floor and the shops on the bottom. maybe some boutiques, a gym, etc. stuff you'd see irl where there are apartments over the stores
The green in your shirt really brings out the green in your eyes
Yes! Green looks so pretty on her
Would love you to build something like this but just 2 BIG mansions in a “gated community”. Rival families complete opposites and having to live in the same 2 home gated community! That would be so fun!
I was so scared for a second when Simsie said there was bad news about the kittens omg
You should make the most unpractical home/lot! With stuff like bunk beds and switch the sink types in the kitchen/bathroom, and like a lot of walls and doors! And a really time consuming layout!❤
i don't think i've ever seen a speed build this long from simsie, but it was a great debrief video to catch up on things lol
Lovely build! as usual! I'd love for you to build an apartment building with like common areas on the first floor (laundry, gym/ spa, library/study nook and such) :) I'd also love it if it was mostly base game :)
Simsie needs to retitle this the Blue Suburban Army on the gallery. 💖😂
It's a nice idea for sims 4 for rent cause it be awesome to see a large family move in those and charge them rent
a medieval-esque village would be so cute with a castle and a wizards tower and a little market place and a couple farm houses☺️
18:09 I thought you were going to say that he died😭😭😭
When Kayla mentioned “we don’t have reptiles in sims” I was wondering what else sims were gonna do with animals, I honestly think reptiles could be next! Like school pets, like a turtle or hamster or something, and then like snakes and lizards.
I know Kayla doesn’t have any insider knowledge but it would be cool to see those sorts of animals
Btw, yes. I would watch a 2hr long speed build, you should do one every now and again please I beg
thought this would be a fun relaxing video, but you've got me all steamed up about my own HOA, haha. I'd love to see a play through to punish a Sims HOA board (probably the Landgrabs)
4 Blue Suburbans?! You spoil us
💙🩵💙🩵
i love her long videos, i like watching/listening while I eat or play sims or sometimes when I'm going to bed. Such a comfy vibe
“I live in Florida… unfortunately” simisie
I currently live in an apartment building with something like an “HOA” we cant paint our balconies the color we want, or put blinds the color we want, so people outside see everything as one thing. But im about to move to another apartment complex that you can change everything, including the outside doors, the building looks so alive, so lived in!! Everybody can express their individuality (as long as you respect your neighbors).
Maybe make a tiny house community or a viking village with a long house and small individual house/huts
instead of same face syndrome it’s same house syndrome 😭
Neighborhood idea: each house is a different pet. Like one house is for a kooky cat lady, another fosters dogs, a third has turned the garage into a stable for their horse, a marine biologist with fish in every single room of the house, RAT MAN
It could be really neat!
Kayla should build a run down dirty trailer park with the rent pack. it would be so fun for story telling
Props to her for speaking to us for super long and telling us some horrific stories. 😊
currently playing in this one with my legacy family and its sooooo nice!!!! thank u kayla
I truly thank you for all your work including ur team.
pls do a basegame version!!!!! would totally watch it
I've lived in an area with HOAs for like my whole life and never rly paid attention to what they did but hearing simsie explain it makes them seem so ridiculous and I can't believe they still exist
3:22 "a horse apartment is really silly" aged wonderfully
Would love to see a senior living community! LOVE FOR ELDERS
I really enjoyed this build. I think the castle town sounds interesting. Like the main building is a castle then on the road leading up to it there’s cottages, farms, and shops. That would be super cool!
THIS IS THE BEST!! I LOVE SPEEDBUILDS I LOVE HOUR LONG SPEEDBUILDS!!
I would love to see you build apartments in Del Sol Valley. They need them so badly!!!
I just realized Kayla switched off the grid lines in build mode! So much nicer (and easier) to watch now 😍😍😍❤️❤️❤️
I absolutely love this build!
Omg it's so nice you actually do captions I never have captions on cause the auto gen captions are terrible but it really helps
