Great refurb, love watching you bring these radios back to life. My Revival's still got pride of place in the kitchen and is on every day, even if we're not there.....keeps the dogs quiet. Look forward to the next repair, keep up the good work.
Happy New Year! Your videos are always worth the wait. These radios have such a such a nice design. The dial brings back memories of the radio in my dads 1964 Rambler American Station Wagon...no pun intended. Looking forward to the next one.
I remember having one of these on the mantle piece back in the early 70's. It went on as soon as we got up and off if no one was in or off at tea time when the tv went on. I was a kid back then and would love to get one now. I have a couple of pocket radio's I had when I was a kid.
I always refer to those capacitors as licorice all sorts. But tropical fish also works. Those IFs seamed a long way off, looks like some ones been a tweaking.
@@Codeeze I have no experience in repairing radio's. have tried twice and both times made it worse, only with cheap modern ones, but I dont mind cosmetic ones needing a clean and a missing bit here and there. I just got to find a cheap radio for hte partds or find he shitch cap and trim from somewhere. I collect DAB radio's and just bought hte Rambler BT and was surprised how small they are compared to the real Rambler size. lol I have 23 DAB radio's now and some (I think about 8) vintage pocket radio's.
Smashing job 😀 A clean and touch up Ooow matron lol. Not forgetting the bonkers capacitors, send them to graham as a present 😀 It was well off tune, no wonder it was deaf 😞 That's a propper radio with no unobtainium i.c's, good old silicone transistors. Yes peoples skin and crud can be a bit nasty, a mate calls it detritus.
That’s a better AM/FM radio than most. It is so retro, or vintage. I’m guessing that this is a 1973 model, circa that, anyway. Ya should call 📞 this the “RRR” radio, for short. I see that “Roberts is the first name on it 🫡. It kind of looks like 👍 a little corrosion on the circuit board, or old age. Ya can fix it all up. Your friend, Jeff.

Another lovely Roberts Rambler.. The Finest of all Portables!
Sound for generations!

Hi Terry, good to know you are happy with your two-fifty. It's all about making them breathe freely again - there's more to come - stay tuned!
Nice one Paul! Another great job.
Another Poor Soul Saved From Landfill . Fine Work Paul Never Seen So Much Editing In One Of Your Videos Great Upload Regards mike.
Thanks Mike. I like trying new things. Editing was never a strong point - and still isn't!

Thanks Barry - it's absolutely an iconic design. Happy New Year to you too - thanks for watching, and stay tuned!

The Rambler is a good basic radio set - still desirable - the design has stood the test of time.
Nice work Paul. That IF was way out. These old Ramblers do clean up well and make nice little collectables. Cheers Graham
I knew when I first listened to it on arrival, it was a victim of the Phantom Twiddler. Thanks for watching!
Turned out very nice, Code'...
Very lively reception sounds great
The performance belies the size... much like myself really...

Indeed. The Phantom Twiddler has been hard at work - it only happens when the owner isn't looking, and they have no idea how it happened...
Have one over theas and I'm lucky it picks up brilliantly .
They are a great simple radio - Roberts weren't kidding when they called them the finest of all portables - sound for generations...
I’m always interested to see how these things come apart. Good recommendations for suckers
Hello, you just turned into mr T sucker 😀
Thanks Chris. Much more suck for your buck with an Engineer!
Nice job, must get a knob wash
Nice recap and realignment. It must have been fairly badly off. Looks and sounds great now!
The Phantom Twiddler had twiddled the twiddlies - was nice to hear it come back in again. Thanks for watching Victor.
Enjoyable video. Happy new year to you.
Happy New Year Terry - thanks for watching - stay tuned for more!
@@Codeeze will do. 👍
I have bought one of these. Serial number 90447 in white. It only needs a top to one of the buttons and the trim to the bottom of the speaker grille.
I think I saw the exact one on ebay. Should make for a lovely radio when fettled nicely.

All of these old Roberts are a black hole of DNA.

The IF was well out. Had this set been repaired before I wonder ?
It had been fiddled and twiddled for sure Steve...
Knob wash! sorry, childish but laughing here.
Don't dis the knobwash 🤣
Some folk use them for parts, that one is exclusively for knobs...
Hacker are better...
I'll second that 😁
Yes Hackers make better door stops!
Remind me who owns the Hacker brand Simon... oh no, it's ok, I've remembered.
Roberts.
@@Codeeze remind me again who owns Roberts 🤔🤔
