  • While remodeling my kitchen, I decided to remove some cabinets and add some open shelving and I'm sharing how I did this with you all. This method is easy and less time consuming than a lot of other tutorials here on youtube.

    Your tip about doing one post first and how to make sure it’s level before marking the other was worth the watch alone lol hanging things is sometimes half the battle lol

    Such great tips on getting the shelving level. I would love to take out one of my cabinets and do this, but I would lose my baking pantry, and as you know, I have so little cabinet space it would be impossible to make it up. I absolutely love the open look of the shelves! I think you are doing an amazing job on your kitchen projects.

    Could I use my old cabinet shelves for this or will it crack with drilling.

    Hi Megan! How did you ensure that the holes you drilled into the wood were straight?

    • @MeganBell
      @MeganBell  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Hannah! Applying even downward pressure certainly helps, but it’s not guaranteed. That’s why I hung it the way that I did, so that even if the holes weren’t perfectly straight, the shelf would still be level and stable.

    My cabinets are not made of wood, do you still recommend chalk paint for cabinets?

    • @MeganBell
      @MeganBell  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      What are they made of?

    Dont you miss the extra storage. From the cabinetry. Removal??? Or did you pair down or move it to another location?

    • @MeganBell
      @MeganBell  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Absolutely not. I feel like I have more storage access to my everyday items with the shelving.
