Thank you I’m glad you liked the video. Initially I was gonna flip it but now I understand why they have such a great reputation. But she’s a case queen since I mostly play my Strats, so you never know. I’ll keep you in mind!
Iv been a fan of Joe for over 30yrs and his approach to design. His collaboration with Ibanez with his signature line is exceptional, I have always likes the shape and contour of his signature line, I only wish Ibanez would do more for the left handed community of players with their signature line. Having only the JS1200L which now is so hard to come by and at a high premium is ridiculous. The market is there for a left handed JS signature model or series of models at various price points. I mean take their 2024 line 74 new models and none have a left handed variant, that’s insulting, and that’s coming from someone who loves Ibanez and a brand.
Yeah. I would have to agree. You know as an instructor I’m also torn when I get a leftie beginner student. What to do. Because for one I feel uncomfortable making them succumb to the right hand world, but on the other hand- unless that person goes pro - and even then..when do you ever have a leftie guitar at a party or jam or school (for students to use), and then they’ll be the guy who has to say: I play guitar but I can’t play this one. I have done both, I made parent buy a left handed one and “raised” the kid as a leftie player and I have also made leftie kids learn righty guitar. Unsure at times what the “right” thing to do is here. I agree with you on that in 2024, big brands like Ibanez should not exclude LH players. Why would you have to select based on availability instead on preference? Highly unfair. Especially for passionate human beings like us. And flipping a guitar like Hendrix may seem cool, but in reality it simply erases all the comfort and playability. I hope you own a 1200CAL!
I noticed most of his models have the straight style angled head stock. I believe cheaper JS models have the angled. Also I hate the 24 fret bodies. I might get used to it but still hate it. The 24 fret body lost something. Cool upload btw
Thanks for your comment. Yeah k was intrigued to get the white 2400 but I can’t get past the shape of the lower horn (looks like a …) and they should’ve omitted the two dots for XXIV - ruins the look
Don’t know how that model plays into the JS. Body of the 540r is same as the JS. The JS neck however is not an Ultra its a c shape with a 9.5” radius and I don’t a Ibanez model that has that, closest to a Strat is the RT with the U shaped Viper necks.
Correction: I say “F7 for 1987”, but this is actually an ‘88. 1987 540r guitars have the three toggle switches, Ibanez changed to the five way switch in 1988. The “r” in the 540r stands for “radius” and refers to the body shape not the neck. To keep us confused ya know😅 JS multiradiused necks are actually neck shape fluid not fretboard radius fluid. Also, the neck on the 540r is called “Ultra” and it’s a 17” radius fingerboard, but it’s a little thicker than regular Ibanez necks (nice to know if you like a little thicker neck than say a Wizard).
I had a candy apple red 540 radius which is what it was before joe stole it. I currently own a white 2400 that I'm hanging onto because I'm finding they are pretty hard to come by. Plus it's a really good sounding guitar.
@@SixStringJoy I can't recall there being a difference in the body. The JS Neck is different than the radius I'm pretty sure. I had the radius a long time ago.
really good video. glad to have found your channel.
Thank you! I’m glad you enjoyed the video.
Great vid! let me know if you decide on not keeping the 540 I'd love to buy it from you!

Hi there, is the light blue 540R for sale by chance?

I have a js1. I have not tried the newer models but i'm planning to get one.
Love the JS1. White or black?
@@SixStringJoy white
@@GDCDGCI neeeeeeed a white one 😅
@@SixStringJoy the white turns into the color cream over time. I hope you find a real white one. Mine's almost cream now

What about the Ergodyne? How does that play into all this - seems like the JS/R style body from pictures I've seen online.

Is the body shape really that different now? I hear some people don’t like it?

How did you get #’s ? You mentioned how many were made in blue
The seller sent me a picture of the 1988 Ibanez catalog and it says there that Fountain Blue was a limited release to 72 guitars
can u give me one please?
Never! 😆 Depending on where you live anyone of these can be quite the price friendly acquisition.
Playful fingers playing strings .
Inevitably leads lead.
Life's lovely lively
Waves and ways.
Why you flipping us the middle finger when you point at the guitars?
I thought the very same thing when I watched it after uploading 😅
I would like to buy your js1 lovernuts
That one I’m gonna keep! But they’re out there, so good luck finding a good one. 🍀
