Wow, I never saw the music video before this. It definitely hits differently.
I've struggled with depression from a young age and i remember when i was 18 and celebrating my bday alone after my gf left me and started dating a week after. I decided to head out of my house on the 14 floor and sat on a ledge telling myself if i called the suicide hotline and someone gave a shit about me i wouldn't do it they told me to not call them unless i was sure i was going to do it. The only reason i am here is because my 60 year old neighbour ran out and hugged me and pulled me off the ledge. This song helps me feel like I'm not alone on this journey it gives me a reason to fight. I hope this song helps others as it helped me
Always stay strong Gabe and always have the morning sun in your head. You will see such beauty and tragedy but it’s ultimately you that decides the strings of fate. it isn’t your fault, don’t ever blame yourself. Fate has a plan for you even if you don’t see or care about it in the moment. Always remember the morning light.

Hi Fil! I suggested you this a couple of months ago and I'm glad that you liked the song. I think that the person which is singing the song, it's trying to convince the person that he loves to not take his life, all the lyrics are about that in my opinion. She kept walking because she threw her phone away, so she stopped listening to her partner even tho he was telling everything that he could in order to save her and that's what made her going into the river. So I think that the song has the same message that you said, don't isolate yourself, there are and will always be people who loves you, don't ignore them to proceed to your dark path, keep the phone with you and run back to the light. Anyway, I found a lot of other great songs throughout this months, so I'm gonna add them to the list that I've done for you because I'm sure you'll like them. The next one that I suggest for syml it's "Mr sandman". Huge hug to you and your family, thank you for the reaction, your messages and your sensitivity 😁

me too, I love the song. It leads me to explore reviews about it. The video is so tragic… perhaps that is why how the song has been sung so intensely affecting??? (depressing and sad) The story in the video explains how it deeply brings meaning and character to the songwriter. I love how SMYL had delivered or rendered the song. Underrated artist that deserves to be heard because he has meaning to his music than just a pop idol image that doesn’t even feel or write what they sing!
This guy is so underrated.
Suicide isn't a rational decision, it's something that's borne of mental dissonance. People who have never felt the true, unrelenting mental turmoil of depression don't know how favorable death seems to them. A common thought that many depressives express is that; "I don't want to die, I just want the pain to stop". Depression is so very common and it's one of those things we need to acknowledge if we're ever to better ourselves.
This song exemplifies the idea that we can course correct somebody but we really can't. We can't correct depression with platitudes or loving emoji's. It is far, far deeper than that. It is a prospect that needs further attention. We can openly say this girl suffers from "mental illness" but we won't say that she could have been saved by intervention.

The break down is on point but I don’t like the song. SYML can twist the message and make it motivating. Considering the amount of kids out there that are going through dark days. Man, this for me irresponsible.
