    wonderfull work stewart.
canbus should be much universal between inverters, so this opens up some real possibilities.
    impressive !

    Really great work!
I will test it in a few days with 16s LiFePo4 230Ah, Cerbo GX, Quattro II 48/5000 (nearly the same as Multiplus II - only one more AC input for Genset)
    I will report my experience.

Hey Stuart, just started following your work and it is really interesting! Currently I’m building a 16S bank and I’ll have a Cerbo, but now Im hesitant with Rec BMS, since they never answer. I’d be happy to integrate something like yours, would you give me some advice how to? Thanks so much!

Hi - take a look at some of the earlier videos (they are a bit rough around the edges!) but it will give you a feel of the structure of the system and what you need.

    Great work Stuart!
A large portion of the DIY powerwall community is moving to LFP prismatic cells. Any chance you can do a video on a 16s LFP implementation? This would probably boost your channel subscribers as well!
    Cheers, Rob

@@StuartPittawayI built a 16S2P 280AH battery bank from Lifepo4 cells from Docan Power (China & US distribution). Awesome cell at a very affordable price. From the same supplier, I purchased 2 200A JBD 16S BMS (CAN port) which are terrific, and looking to hook to Curb GX. Would love to see a video on that.

Stuart, I can’t remember if I have your email address but I recall you asking how I was progressing with the Nissan Leaf ver 4 boards. Anyway I finally took delivery of 49 gen 1 leaf modules and will now start to build a 7x7 48V stack. I have a Trinabess AC coupled inverter which I will attempt to couple the diybms to via Canbus. Now I discovered the Trinabess is compatible with Pylontech US2000 battery packs which in turn are compatible Victron. I have 2 US2000 packs next week so I can reverse engineer the Canbus protocol. But maybe your code will just work as it is. One way to find out I guess…
Also I am working on a version of diyBMS for leaf with one huge PCB that bolts directly onto 7 stacked modules.

@@StuartPittaway I have completed design of the 7 module Leaf balancing boards, and had 20 boards manufactured. Now testing.
I couldn’t get any comms going with the Trinabess. There is no documentation available on their protocols. I have purchased a Victron Multiplus-II GX 48V 5000VA inverter. Do you know if the DIYBMS controller can talk to this? Or will I also need the Cerbo GX?

Stuart I have built a stack of 14S and 8P and hooked everything up to a Victron GX inverter. First thing i notice is that the data LEDs behave somewhat strange. They come on in sequence up to module 16 then there is a pause for a few seconds before the data continues around the loop. Just wondering is that is normal. Also received packets about 2/3 of sent packets.
    compiled 2021-12-06T15
    running 9k6 baud.

    • @StuartPittaway
      @StuartPittaway  2 ปีที่แล้ว

Yes thats normal, the cells are addressed in 16 blocks, so there will be a delay between these blocks.

Hi Stuart / everyone. I have a built a battery pack using nissan leaf cells in a 3p7s configuration, v4.4 cel boards ad the latest touchscreen controller. I have also acquired a Soltaro AC coupled inverter, that sadly only works with their own battery via CANBUS. They will not give any canbus data to me saying its confidential. I`m going to try to connect the diybms to it to see how it reacts. Also, there is a BMS on the market now that has maybe 7 inverter canbus data built in, its called a SEPLOS, and in it it has a drop down menu to select what inverter you want the bms to comms with. If anyone wants t try to reverste engineer it to have our bms do the same, im more than happy buying one for the project. Sadlt my programming skills are zero, so cant contribute to the reverse ingineering side.
