Beyond the beauty of this song and the incredible performance by Lilly James through the whole movie, I appreciate the inclusion of the bouzouki in the arrangement to give it the sound of Greece. A tiny detail that adds to the perfection.
At the beginning of this scene, you can see Donna pumping her fist and and shouting. In the first movie during the Super Trouper scene, you can see older Sam doing the exact same thing. It’s so subtle, but such a cute detail.

It might be unpopular,but I found this movie to be one of those rare sequels that is superior to the first.It`s like they modernized it in all the right places whilst still preserving that fun magic.I watched it like 4 times in cinemas.
The first movie was one of the worst movies I’ve ever seen. Ever. And I’ve seen The Room. I love Abba. That’s why I hated the first movie. Meryl Streep has over 15 years on me, and I would’ve been too old to play that character. And she and the rest of them are atrocious singers and she just looked ridiculous, as did the rest of them. Abba songs aren’t written for horrible singers or even mediocre singers, even though every karaoke star somehow thinks they are. The music was strong, because Benny made sure of it, but the singing made nails on a chalkboard and forks scraping on plates sound like music from heaven. I cannot bring myself to suffer through a sequel, but I do really like Lily James, and this song was the only song I’ve heard from the soundtrack songs (and I bravely sampled each one) that didn’t make me want to stuff a large screwdriver in each ear. And that includes Cher, the original yarler’s, songs.
The first movie was not good at all! I actually watched the second one first and loved it and then went back and watched the first. I’ll never watch the first one again.
I’m still upset how this movie never told us how Donna died. I’m still upset about that. Other than that I love this movie. And Lily James makes a perfect young Donna!.
I think the reason they didn't mention it was because it didn't really matter how she died, the only thing that was plot-relevant was just the fact that she did die.
I think it was good they did that. Either way Meryl didn’t want to be in the movie for most of it so they had to kill her character. These movies are meant to be heartwarming, so focusing on cause of death would only bring it down and overshadow the fun by making it overly sad
I love how they randomly put her on that stage that’s the best feeling, a guy seen me writing lyrics on a greyhound bus and he and others convinced me to sing in the bus I got told I had an amazing voice by others but when I sang in front of a bus of strangers and they said I had the most amazing voice it was the best feeling in the world.
I like how her voice is so similar to Anna seyfried's which shows how similar they are :) I wonder if that is a coincidence. But the way she sings the high notes in "I'm your song" sounds exactly like Amanda sang The Name of The Game

What I don't understand is that in the first movie they have pictures of sam and donna, bill and donna, and harry and donna but watching the flashbacks they don't look the same. I do get why, but it bothers me that they couldn't have them wear long wigs or something
I think they wanted to modernize the guys and make them hot by today’s standards, which I agree kind of was lame and made me sad but loved the movie otherwise
@@kvglenn1 this wasn’t the case at all. The pictures of the young dads and young Donna were the actors just dressed up ‘young’. In this movie they actually showed the past in film and not just in random pictures like a passport, so they hired actual young actors to play the part.
@@henryblackk_ Yeah, I understand how everything worked. OBVIOUSLY they were going to hire young actors. That’s not my problem. It’s the characterization and costuming. They were made to be modern, not period accurate. Sam was supposed to be a looooong haired hippie, Harry was supposed to be ACTUALLY punk rock, etc.

I was hoping that if they made a second Momma Mia Movie that Donna and Sophie got pregnant together, she could only have been in her 40’s , it could have worked, but Meryl doesn’t do sequel’s, other wise that could have worked and the third one could have been Donna die, that would give three great Momma Mia Movies.

10+ years ago, they didn’t know they were going to get a second film. Yes there’s a couple inaccuracies but it’s still a bloody good film
