Repealed or not, I don't think it'll make a difference at all. You see, that particular law had never been actively exercised nor have the government actively pursued or cracked down on individuals who "broke the law". It has always been the case of "don't ask, don't tell" or "keep it private and we won't ask any questions". The government had affirmed its stance on marriage and that it should be kept exclusively between a male and a female. This is simply a ruse to fool people into thinking that a change will happen and that LGBT folks will be accepted by our society. It's akin to giving false hope to someone. A recent study has shown that while the majority of Singaporeans are not averse to the idea of befriending someone from the LGBT community, it's a different story when it comes to their family members. Most parents would not support their children becoming gay or trans.

Dearest : Max Chernov. The issue and topic regarding LQBT which applies to this world
      🌎 🌍 🌎🌍🌎🌍🌎🌍🌎🌍🌎🌍🌎🌍
only western countries accepted and kept those bills alive.
LQBT is reality doesn’t applies to Asian countries very much too. Those Asian countries not in favour of LQBT are : Communists Chinese China 🇨🇳🇨🇳🇨🇳🇨🇳🇨🇳🇨🇳

      Oman 🇴🇲 🇴🇲 🇴🇲🇴🇲🇴🇲🇴🇲🇴🇲🇴🇲🇴🇲🇴🇲🇴🇲🇴🇲
and many more countries which wouldn’t accept the fact of LQBT cultures and their trends therefore they wouldn’t permit and even approved on these LQBT bills to be implemented under their own countries parliamentary system which would allow the whole entire nations of their citizens to follow too.
Countries which permitted such laws are : American 🇺🇸 🇺🇸 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
      The Philippines 🇵🇭 🇵🇭 🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭
      Great Britain 🇬🇧 🇬🇧 🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
and so on and so forth too.
Not all countries in Asia region would accept the reality and facts of LQBT as part of their cultures and heritages too.
Different countries have different laws implemented by their own government and their respective kings 🤴 and queens 👸 which existed till today in this digital revolution age millennium. And not forgetting the flexibility of their laws and even freedom of speeches unlike in majority of the traditional countries where they are overpopulated with Chinese citizens all over their own country.

I don't think most people really care. I am gay and I never have any problem coming out. I told everyone after I found out I'm gay, I told my gf I think I'm gay (even though I'm still attracted to girls but I don't want it to be complicated), and then I told my parent. I remember my mom asked me "is it true? does it mean you are not going to have a baby?" I confirm her, and then she said it was also good. it costs a lot to take care of babies these days. my bf and my dad were really close. they fix the house together and go drinking. actually, in my country, we think if you're trying to show that you hate gays, there is a high chance you are in a closet. my best mate is gay and he was a star soccer player in high school, so he's quite famous with girls but we secretly do many naughty things together. he's not out to anyone and he was so upset with me coming out to my friends. he said he can't be my friend anymore. he really never talks to me at all, like we don't know each other. this is quite big for me at that time bc our friend was also separated into two groups, his group, and my group and he told so many lies about me, I didn't really understand him at that time bc he was actually a girl in our relationship but he acts as I am gay and he's super manly. then he came to my house one day and he ask me to understand him. that is the only time I have problem being gay. oh btw im from Thailand

Studies discovered that it is the mother's immune system that influence the gayness.
Gay men have, on average, a greater number of older brothers than do heterosexual men, a well-known finding within sexual science.
This finding has been termed the fraternal birth order effect. Strong scientific interest in sexual orientation exists because it is a fundamental human characteristic, and because its origins are often the focal point of considerable social controversy. Consider reading discoveries on homosexuality issues under NCBI research on fraternal birth order of males in the family. Let's say if there are 2 or 4 boys in the family, chances are - there is / are gays within these boys siblings, according to scientific research.

Singapore is behind many Western countries when it comes to LGBT rights. On the bright side, SG govt has shown it is open to change by repealing 377a. I think it's important to remember that change doesn't happen overnight even in the West, not to mention more culturally conservative Asian countries. Besides, gay marriage in more liberal countries like US and Australia was only made legal in the past decade. So I'm quite confident that younger generation in SG will be more supportive of LGBT rights.

I understand his POV; not able to be at the bedside of a love one, not allowed to attend funeral, not a recognised partner. Valid points.
On the other hand, I'm glad the govt want to maintain the family nucleus; man + woman + child. I'm also glad the social / institutional, political and entertainment madness / degeneration overtaking some parts of the world; USoA, UK, etc, for the past several years is not happening here because the govt is maintaining the core family, race and religious structures.

@@MaxChernov because if you listen to any of his comedic shows, his whole persona revolves around demonising his own country and poking fun at political figures as well as the TV station in Singapore. It is a very overused form of humour and Singaporeans know this. His jokes are also not funny at all. He does not dare to make fun of any sexual/ethnic minorities which truly limits his comedic capability in my opinion. A good comedian will make fun of everyone and everything. Sam See is obviously trying hard not to offend the minorities in Singapore

i think the people in singapore should be able to choose their own gender identity on their passport or identity card just like most of the accepting countries in the world as currently you can only change your gender marker if you get srs(sex reassignment surgery) done which is like saying you’re forcing people to get surgery in order to just have your gender marker change. srs is more like a privilege due to the cost and not every trans person wants srs too. hopefully more people could raise this issue in singapore so that the government will notice it!!

    • @nutzhazel
      @nutzhazel ปีที่แล้ว

It doesn't matter how you feel, what matters is your original biology because scientifically that what's determine your actual gender, hence why there's only 2 gender option - male or female. In case of a dead person or criminal cases, your body will only be identified by what it is - a male or a female. That's the practically of having the actual gender on the ID which doesn't based on feelings but rather your biological make up.
