Where would I look to find instructions on cleaning my Leblanc model 340 contrabass clarinet? It's really old (like, REALLY old), and I'm the first one at my school to play it in at least 4 years. What do I do?

Hello! We hope to have one out very soon! That was actually the very next video on the list before we hit "Pause" to do a few videos on sanitizing instruments. We hope to have a baritone video completed very soon! Be sure to follow our page so you are alerted when it is uploaded.

Hello! This was very informative, however you didn’t specify that students shouldn’t submerge flute head joints in water! You said to run water over it but would this damage the cork in the head joint? You looped them in with trumpets and now I’m afraid my young students might try something that may cause them unneeded visits to repair shops! Please advise when you can.

Linda, Thanks for your feedback. I'm sorry that our instructions were a bit unclear. After consulting our repair department, we determined that running water over the head joint will not damage the cork because its sealed inside the head joint. However, if you are still concerned that it could cause damage, you can simply spray down the head joint with alcohol as instructed in the video, allow it to dry, and then skip the rinsing step.
