Thank you for the great information. I’m trying to figure out how to get my GY citizenship again. I migrated to the US & became naturalized there. I now want to get my GY paperwork and citizenship again. I have no idea where to start. Any advice you can give would be helpful. Thank you.
Once you still have a birth certificate you can submit that to apply for a Passport. Contact the Guyana Consulate in Washington DC, and they will assist you with that process. www.minfor.gov.gy or their location in New York, www.guyanaconsulatenewyork.org
Good to know to those who are interested to return..The long wait an slow procedures are there since I was a child ..I am very ambitious and just migrate to the Caribbean am so settled have naturalized citizenship over thirty years getting all my senior citizen benefits even owned my own home so guyana is far from developed i have no intention of returning to live there the rich getting richer and the always will be poor ..
Ms Marg thank you for your sentiments. I do agree migration is not for everyone. My role her is to make the transition smoother for those who are willing to take on the challenge. Please share my channel.
@@2809Archer If I were 20 years younger and still had my immediate family, it would have been a thought, but in reality, I am more Canadian in my daily life, than I have been Guyanese, I was 14.5 when we left, so it would be very difficult to acclimatize myself, but I know a few who have entertained the idea. Once again, you are wonderful in sharing information, thank you, it's sad that we were on the blacklist, I had no idea.
Good question you can contact the Guyana Embassy in WDC directly. I believe their website may have the form online. submit the required information, plus fee and they will process it for you. It could take a while so be patient. Also check this website for independent information. www.gro.moha.gov.gy
Good question Nathaniel. TIN is a tax identification number, not unlike a social security number. You need this to open an account, to get any license, or transact business in the country. It is a requirement set by the revenue authority. Here is a useful link, www.gra.gov.gy/tax-guide-individual-tin/
Why would anyone want to go through all that to prove that you were born a guyanese …when they can track you through interpol.. or the country you lived in.. it seems to me that they don’t want you.
Cheryl -ann I can see how some would view the process tedious, and I'm sure it could be streamlined, however it is easy to navigate once you put your mind to it. One step at a time.😊

Thanks for being so explicit. How do I get a birthday certificate if I lost my original copy. I have a copy. I live in the USA

Hello aunty, do you know if after receiving naturalized citizen overseas would you still have dual citizenship as a born Guyanese?
Absolutely. No issue with dual citizenship.
But why we need a tin
