We visit Drive Dad's Car at Ambergate in Derbyshire, where I take to the wheel of some classic Mini cars. Thanks Bob. It was brilliant to see all the old cars from the past. I past my driving test in1969 so I have previously driven most of them and owned a few as well including a number of minis.. The first that hits you most of all is how small they are compared with modern day cars.
What a lovely thing to do Bob,a drive in the past, brings back memories just watching you and seeing some of the other lovely motors. Remember my brother had an immaculate clubman 1275GT, think he cleaned it more than drove it 😅
What a brilliant experience and a fantastic video. My first car was a mini van which had been my parents. It was an R reg and I loved it. Dad had a Ford cortina too. Take care Gill
Awwww my first car was a Mini 850, in Harvest Gold! My mum was given it by her employer and she passed it on to me! I think mine was a bit younger than yours-1973! BVJ 982L! Thanks for sharing! Fabulous! 😊
Ambergate is an amazing place and I drove one of the minis amazing day out. Thanks for sharing and love the channel as always 💓 looking forward to 2025s travels thank you
Bob Great video brought back some happy memories. My first car was a 64 mini van the best car I have ever owned was a Renault 16 great car still own a minor convertible takes you back.Have a good break.Roger.
I'm not envious at all, Bob! 😂 It was fascinating to see how the Mini has evolved over the years. I noticed that the steering wheel in the Mini Sport is identical to the one in my MGF, which is a common practice among various makes and models in the BMC/BL/MG range.
That blue Hillman/Sunbeam looked a little like the one I used to have in Malaysia in '82. A great little car. Looked lots of fun there. My Auntie Peg had a Mini in Australia in about '61; she loved it.#
A lovely day out and a pleasure to help with the footage. You really captured the experience with a mix of old and very old minis 😃 Thanks for taking us along with you and allowing Trev to ride in the back of the cooper 👍🏻 Loved the video, something a bit different on your channel 😃💙🚐🚐 Trev n Sue
Thanks Bob, that brings back memories and looks like great fun. I think I would have to spend a week there driving all the cars I used to have and the ones I couldn’t afford 😅. I was just as excited as you watching the video. Do you have to book a spot or can you just turn up because I would love to go there when we come across this year. 👍

Yes, cars continue to grow every model, makes you wonder where it will end.

A lot of people seem to have had Minis as their first car. It's so iconic.

So many parts were reused.

My fav car was Ford Sierra Sapphire and British Rover was also Good
I've only ever had a short drive of a Sierra and that was yellow and had BT written all over it. 😁 Jenny dad had a Rover SD 2600, that was nice.
My first car was a Mini 850 😊
Mine too!
My first car was a MiniTraveller automatic
They do have an automatic Mini to drive...
