Luke 12:49-51. Division is NOT wrong if it is because of faith and love to Christ. If separated from Jesus, then division has already happened.

Preachers need to affirm traditional marriage as God created it as much as possible because God's will is really under fire here.

When your pastor supports gay marriage and you love God you leave. And you do it rebuking him giving his sheep a chance to not be misled. I have NEVER recommended this for any reason but for this I would with no worry of being in the wrong. I feel for that Pastor as that situation has to be hard and has to hurt. Pastors come under attacks of the enemy too and we all are subject to fall into sin. I can't imagine him doing this for any other reason for love of his daughter as Adam ate the fruit out of love of eve. The consequence however was still grave. He needs prayer and compassion but not at the expense of the entire congregation.

don't think for a second that the daughter was NOT as huge target for the enemy. Whatever nasty influence and reach the enemy can get over people has strategic value in this spiritual war (Eph 6:12) I feel sorry for the daughter because no doubt she was hit hard by whatever ploys the enemy uses against us but this is to be expected by _her father_ , look at the fall out that comes from that strategic hit! There is a reason Jesus says "He that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of me: and he that loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me." Matt 10:37

Attending is not moral compromise entirely. Dr. Brown claims that attending a gay wedding indicates one is "celebrating" or "approving" of the unholy union (its not marriage). However, I personally would attend a gay wedding to assert my Christian faith. I'd go and preach Jesus! No compromise, no cake, no pictures, straight up bible thump the whole way. Kick me out of the wedding party or not, I will never appologize for doing the Lords work (sharing the gospel) and never "politically correct" so as to hide my convictions as a Christian. Its time for the church to become bold for Christ, amen.
Do you guys think JESUS would shy away from a gay wedding? Or would he step out in faith and share the gospel?

z_german yes i agree, but would u shepard a church and then go to a ceromony that is obvious you support and be in photos?he is a shepard, thats michaels point.and why would u attend a gay marraige?to preach the truth?do you think that the couple would want that?is it your right to go and preach boldily when and where?would u be recieved?nope, anger and hostility would be the outcome.then you say so what?are you now crossing a line of self righteousness ?is this really the way to get someone to listen?would u go to a gays funeral and preach?where is the line of winning souls or self righteousness which is pride and vanity

The question is, How can two males consummate a marriage? or two females? Men & women have done this since Adam & Eve down to our Mother and Father to me & my wife and we kept on mating and produced two children a girl & boy, that's just normal. So I repeat , How can two men consummate a marriage?

    • @garlandjones7709
      @garlandjones7709 5 ปีที่แล้ว

@N Mil technically he isn't wrong. I point this out all the time to people and have yet to have one that's recognized ahead of time, but the marriage in the bible was the first mating and becoming one. They held celebrations ahead of time like we call a wedding today, but it was a celebration of them about to come together sexually for the first time later that night. We have distorted what marriage is this last 100 or so years on earth. Marriage isn't the wedding.

    Well said Dr Brown.
Church leaders/councils/elders often put individuals under a lot of pressure to conform to them and their preferences and use church unity and preventing a split as a "Bible teaching" to justify their position.
I and other people, too, have had to leave church congregations because of demands to conform to conduct and standards and ethics which would not be acceptable behaviour in our employment and working professional life even though the commands of scripture endorse the standards of our working profession rather than that of some church congregations.
What's your position on this matter,Dr Brown?

So we just left a new church we were at for about a year because the pastor went off on a feminist rant and called every man a pig, That was a warning sign, well the very next Wednesday he makes a statement saying "this church is not for the seasoned Christian it's for the new Christian or the soon to be Christian but the problem is he never has ever given an altar call ever the entire time we were there and that was something we noticed. The pastor said" if you want deeper teaching go get ut somewhere else and so we did and we have found out that that church is crumbling because the worship leader and his wife are another story. Christian if you don't have discernment you are in trouble!

+Yesica1993 It's not sad that she is questioning... She wants to be balanced in her views and actions and doesnt want to be quick to judge incorrectly. What may be obvious to you may not be as obvious to her. This type of shaming is exactly why there are so many Christians in the church who DONT have a stable foundation. They are scared to ask questions specifically because of your attitude above. Come on, have some compassion for those who aren't as learned as you are.

To all my brothers and sisters in Christ! Paul Addressed this issue so clearly! 1 Corinthians 5 It is actually reported that sexual immorality exists among you, the kind of immorality that is not permitted even among the Gentiles, so that someone is cohabiting with his father’s wife. 2 And you are proud! Shouldn’t you have been deeply sorrowful instead and removed the one who did this from among you? 3 For even though I am absent physically, I am present in spirit. And I have already judged the one who did this, just as though I were present. 4 When you gather together in the name of our Lord Jesus, and I am with you in spirit, along with the power of our Lord Jesus, 5 hand this man over to Satan for the destruction of the flesh, so that his spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord.
9 I wrote you in my letter not to associate with sexually immoral people. 10 In no way did I mean the immoral people of this world, or the greedy and swindlers and idolaters, since you would then have to go out of the world. 11 But now I am writing to you not to associate with anyone who calls himself a Christian who is sexually immoral, or greedy, or an idolater, or verbally abusive, or a drunkard, or a swindler. Do not even eat with such a person. 12 For what do I have to do with judging those outside? Are you not to judge those inside? 13 But God will judge those outside. Remove the evil person from among you.
Sexual immorality used here equated to all forms of sexual immorality including homosexuality, sex before marriage, etc...! Anything outside the lines of a genuine biblically ok marriage!
1 Corinthians 6 12 “All things are lawful for me”-but not everything is beneficial. “All things are lawful for me”-but I will not be controlled by anything. 13 “Food is for the stomach and the stomach is for food, but God will do away with both.” The body is not for sexual immorality, but for the Lord, and the Lord for the body. 14 Now God indeed raised the Lord and he will raise us by his power. 15 Do you not know that your bodies are members of Christ? Should I take the members of Christ and make them members of a prostitute? Never! 16 Or do you not know that anyone who is united with a prostitute is one body with her? For it is said, “The two will become one flesh.” 17 But the one united with the Lord is one spirit with him. 18 Flee sexual immorality! “Every sin a person commits is outside of the body”-but the immoral person sins against his own body. 19 Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own? 20 For you were bought at a price. Therefore glorify God with your body.

Paul basically says, for those BELIEVERS who are unrepentant (do not want to change), to hand them over to Satan (or the world) for the destruction of the flesh, so that his spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord. Paul says, do not associate with an unrepentant sexually immoral person who calls themselves a believer in Jesus or a Christian.
So, on the other hand Paul says we are to go out to all unbelievers with open arms to preach the living gospel to them. Because if we were not to go to the immoral of the world, we ourselves would have to leave the world! I would also advise to pray for one that would be sent away so they would repent!
So simply, if believer and unrepentant, and refusing to acknowledge they need to change, the church should no allow them to even meet with them.
If you are preaching to an unbeliever, and they believe in Jesus, give them some time to read the Word of God and God will work with their flesh and will work miracles among them , and change them from the inside out! Jesus can change hearts!

John Haller FBC just did a great video on "division". In general if a church or pastor is teaching heresy of any kind, they are causing the division. Jesus in Matthew 18:15-20 and the New Testament in context teaches to remove the unrepentant member and sinner from the body after the appropriate biblical steps. If the church isn't going to remove the apostate, heretical, backslidden, and/or compromising pastor (this is actually what elders are for -1 or 2 Tim.) then a responsible member leaves the apostate "church".

this is similar but different take about what happened in this church, but I wanted to ask why would a church loses members just because a Pastor decide not to partake in something that is sinful? shouldn't they be happy for him for standing for God rather than shun him? If people do that then there's something clearly wrong with that church. it means that the people who shun him are supporters of sodomy. they shun him and say that he committed a sin but they need to look at themselves. you're sinning by supporting sodomy

Jesus says he came to bring division. One must leave those who teach and accept what is an abomination in God’s sight. It is because of the priests and the prophets that ungodliness has spread throughout the land.

Just responding to a point you have raised in other videos, I believe you are labouring under incorrect information - Females with congenital adrenal hyperplasia have undisputed, statistically higher rates of homosexuality. How can you then say that genetics "the way you are born" cannot influence you to be gay? Before someone posts the predictable reply along the lines of "well thats one rare genetic condition" the point is that it is extremely biologically plausible that genes (how God makes us) can predispose to homosexuality, especially those pertaining to hormone levels as in the case of congenital adrenal hyperplasia. As Christians we are called to be seekers of truth and science as a systematic process of seeking truth can inform us about the nature of God - this is something Christians should rejoice in, even when it conflicts with our long held beliefs and biases.
Apart from the science I feel we are called to respond with compassion to biological complexities which are currently far outside human understanding. I suggest this video: th-cam.com/video/7l_BtCEzBpo/w-d-xo.html The visuals of the video is very boring but the audio and message (which you can leave on in the background when doing tasks, commuting etc) is on point and very worthwhile, from a respected Christian academic whose credentials are arguably superior to Dr Brown's. Thanks
