We didn't know exactly which world buffs to get for the raid, we didn't know which mob to MC to get a fire res buff etc etc... For example, how many feral dps druids do you think farmed that dumb lvl 45 staff with 3 charges and carried 10 of those items to every raid? 0 that's how many, 0. Nowadays everyone would do that in the top guilds, everyone.
This is not vanilla molten core, far from it. Mobs are nerfed, talents and spell are buffed, gear is way better etc . This is 1.12, it will be vanilla when naxxramas is released.
For all the dumbasses saying “ this was 1.2 when everything was nerfed” go look at the patch notes online from actual 1.2. Literally 2 classes had skill revamped. The game was hardly nerfed into the ground. This just reinforces how bad we all were back in the early 2000’s. It makes it more funny that 75% of the raid wasn’t even lvl 60 lol. Shit onslaught did it the next day with 11 lvl 60’s and the rest lvl 55’s.
Compare this, a world first ragnaros kill, to a normal kill back in vanilla, its a far cry from how things were, even with the small quality of life changes, its plain and obvious to see that we are just more skilled and matured as players than we were when warcraft was brand new. the difference between this group, and an old vanilla group, is that 90% of people that raided in vanilla, were all casual players, they played the game normally, and DREAMED of raiding in a good team, i was lucky to be part of a good raid Tier 1 raid team back in 2005-6, but nobody was considered a "Serious Raider" that committed all their time and effort to just raiding, whereas now, its normal, its what people play WoW for, so the efforts and the skill are on point.
Not sure whether I should congratulate, or not. I said the same thing many times in conversations, WoW Classic will be nothing like the WoW vanilla experience we had 15 years ago, and its just a waste of time and resources, instead of focusing making the current game (and the next iterations) better. Downing Ragnaros, in 6 days? With not everyone level 60? With shitty gear (at least what we saw on this Monkeynews character) that "back then" wasnt good enough to be used to clear UBRS/LBRS ? 6 days... and they went and killed Onyxia as well. So much from Classic WoW, sorry, but it is what it is. This just proves the point - the game might be the same, but the players aren't. People nowadays know how to play this game with their eyes closed, back then we didn't had a clue what the fuck we were doing. Soon enough, when Naxxaramas will be released, I reckon it will take even less than 6 days to clear it... the "hardest" raid from that time. Good job (although you really did nolife it :D) but, this just proves that WoW Classic was a mistake.

They probly used Fire protection potions and you can see a buff on Monkeynews while he is alive that is given to you from a priest MC on a mob in UBRS gives alot of Fire resist...Like ALOT
If you have a group of dedicated people who are skilled enough, I wouldn't say it is a problem at all. It is an old game, there are guides everywhere and those people probably are experts already. It is not that impressive as if they would done it in the times, when the old vanilla was live.

Well if you have the time to play 6 days almost non stop, you either did it specifically on your holidays or you are jobless. So it's not entirely false.
I think is normal that they destroyed rag, originally the items were much less powerfull at the beggining of the game than in their 1.12 state. Also the talent trees for most classes changed making them quite better. If blizzard were really commited with "no changes", they had progressive itemization for the different phases and even start with the old talent trees and improve over time. Also, some people are saying that MC was nerfed, that i don't know but it really could be.
@@Lejiapower all the players were fresh 60s with green lvl 50 gear kind of. They never changed those items in later patches. A lot of them weren't even lvl 60. So your argument about itemization goes out the door :p
@@elakObad Man, look up on google progressive itemization and you'll see that blue dungeon items and UBRS items were changed with the patches. They didn't have only green lvl50 items, for entering the molten core and onyxia you have to do the attunements that send you to UBRS etc. But I guess with the 1.0 items they will have cleared MC and Ony in about 1 hour more so, true that my argument is kind of weak...

they've done this with the EXACT same people and naxx multiple times on pvs and on multiple pvs, they don't nerdgasm about something they pretty much KNEW they had in the bag like 3 years ago, before a WF race was even thought off.
APES were mostly a pvp guild, so their mains have racials for that. If you want to see min-max pve racials, It's probably going to be progress or salad bakers.

Rumor has it lots of people at risk of roll back for abusing the exp boost glitch with raid party size of 6+. Heard the first kills of ony and MC are under review because some may have abused the glitch. Yikes.
Exactly why playing classic seemed stupid for me, all the mechanics are perfectly known and there is absoluely no challenge compared to when we were all discovering the game.
For me the point is dat I can more fully comprehend the game and master it with a pc that can actually handle it. I mained resto druid back then when I was 14-15. I want to be part of a big group again working together as best they can within this format. I was happier when I got a common mace upgrade when I was level 5 than a mythic trinket with socket from Throne.
People are confused in the chat. This is a routine kill for them lol. Theyve done this speedrun for more than 5 years now on privas, hundreds of times. It's not celebration worthy.
This guild had been on a private server then switched to classic and downs shit they have had plenty of practice hopefully blizzard makes the next boss super hard so it takes a while
Blizzard should take note of how easy it is nowadays to complete these raids and release the next phases with difficulty prior to the nerf where you actually need to grind the gear and consumables before even considering to enter those instances. The whole beauty of the game back in the days was it being so challenging and everything taking so much time to complete, therefore bing very rewarding. These guys didn’t even react to completing it. Yes I know there were also the discovering the mechanics, talents and bis gear factors but nothing was nerfed to this point. Nevertheless congrats to these guys for putting in the hard work.
in my oppinion, the fact that we already hold data about those raids is what makes them easier. people know how it works, what is needed (consumables, gear and where to grab em, best talents...)

Google each patch in vanilla up to 1.12 and you'd easily see the changes made to items, item sets, raid encounters, class abilities and other nerfs and buffs that is centered around making it easier for the playerbase at that time. Just look at MC, in 1.12 you dont even need fire resistance to clear it. Like half the vanilla experience is gone since its stuck to one patch and the player wont experience the major changes that made the game more trivial, which leaves us with an easy, casual endgame where the encounters are tuned and bugs fixed. If Classic would follow Vanillas timeline we'd see mace-specced rogues roaming around now, not even touching daggers one bit.
Guys sorry for my question! The world first 60 was on 30.08. Nobody here in Raid is on the list. how the hack its possible that 2 days later - 40 people are lvl 60 and farmed everything for the raid? That seems rly strange to me
because they werent being monitored at all, the list was insanely inaccurate it only counted the ones being observed on stream and players weren't streaming for the most part
Only 25 of them were lvl60 and they just killed it without grinding gear. They were going to do it with like 20 lvl60s until they realized they had no 60 hunter for the boss that required it and took a few hour break to cap off the highest hunter.

It is not worth for me to play only like for 2 hours daily, I dont like being an average player, i need to be very good :D I enjoyed the game for 10 years, I know almost everything, all the quests, quest lines, lore, locations and so on you know, especially classic and tbc, and I don’t have 6 hours daily to play wow to be really good in the top. Classic WoW is not so different by most of those Private Vanilla servers out there. In 15 years of private server you get so many experience about raids and pvp that is not so abnormal see one guild doing in 6 days those things since every content was abused for years. Onle the people that started for the first time on classic and never been in Vanilla they would never achieve this goal.

These guys have played Classic nonstop over the last 5 years with over 100+ rag kills :P They surely have tried every single strategy avalible out there and their conclusion must have been that this one is the best
All you need to understand they have been training for years on vanilla, with all data and knowledge about raids. Its pretty clear which guilds are prepared and which are playing this as something "new".
I remember when we had Rag on farm, then Naxx was released. We got the first boss within a few tries, then we raced against Nihilium for Nefarion. I think it was Nurfed that got world first Nefarion, but we at least got EU first (and beat Nihilium). Ad Noctum was our guild on Magtheridon EU (previously named Recipe for Hate on Shadowmoon). Those were the days...

These people slept like 4 hours in 6 Days. They also had years of private server practice + it’s based on the last patch of vanilla wow, making it a little easier. Also molten core was never hard. It’s a total joke, just wait for naxx to come out. That will be a lot harder. Still impressive tho from the apes :)

There are 2 reasons why it went down that fast: 1. Classic is 1.12 patch. On this patch most classes got huge buffs, etc. 2. These players farmed Vanilla for YEARS. It's like studying 10 years for a math test you did when you were 15. Of course you'll smash the test if you retake it at the age of 25.
Any retail guild can clear mc at a similar pace, with the same gear, the speedrun to ~60 as a 40man team is whats kinda impressive. Mc is a joke in difficulty

The difference, as one who was there (not in Apes, but in Return who came close), was prep. This was a practised speedrun, not a new experience.

I think is normal that they destroyed rag, originally the items were much less powerfull at the beggining of the game than in their 1.12 state. Also the talent trees for most classes changed making them quite better. If blizzard were really commited with "no changes", they had progressive itemization for the different phases and even start with the old talent trees and improve over time. Also, some people are saying that MC was nerfed, that i don't know but it really could be.

@@Lejiapower all the players were fresh 60s with green lvl 50 gear kind of. They never changed those items in later patches. A lot of them weren't even lvl 60. So your argument about itemization goes out the door :p
@@elakObad Man, look up on google progressive itemization and you'll see that blue dungeon items and UBRS items were changed with the patches. They didn't have only green lvl50 items, for entering the molten core and onyxia you have to do the attunements that send you to UBRS etc. But I guess with the 1.0 items they will have cleared MC and Ony in about 1 hour more so, true that my argument is kind of weak...

they've done this with the EXACT same people and naxx multiple times on pvs and on multiple pvs, they don't nerdgasm about something they pretty much KNEW they had in the bag like 3 years ago, before a WF race was even thought off.

APES were mostly a pvp guild, so their mains have racials for that.
If you want to see min-max pve racials, It's probably going to be progress or salad bakers.
How is this possible? Almost no fire resi I guess, almost all players not lvl 60, no Equipment etc. This should not be possible Oo but respect and Gratulation!
They used the fire resist buff from mind controlling mobs way easier than getting fire resistant gear

Exactly why playing classic seemed stupid for me, all the mechanics are perfectly known and there is absoluely no challenge compared to when we were all discovering the game.
For me the point is dat I can more fully comprehend the game and master it with a pc that can actually handle it. I mained resto druid back then when I was 14-15. I want to be part of a big group again working together as best they can within this format. I was happier when I got a common mace upgrade when I was level 5 than a mythic trinket with socket from Throne.

They mostly did 5+ man groups and farmed dungeons with huge cleave dmg and aoe‘d them down
This guild had been on a private server then switched to classic and downs shit they have had plenty of practice hopefully blizzard makes the next boss super hard so it takes a while
Blizzard should take note of how easy it is nowadays to complete these raids and release the next phases with difficulty prior to the nerf where you actually need to grind the gear and consumables before even considering to enter those instances. The whole beauty of the game back in the days was it being so challenging and everything taking so much time to complete, therefore bing very rewarding. These guys didn’t even react to completing it. Yes I know there were also the discovering the mechanics, talents and bis gear factors but nothing was nerfed to this point. Nevertheless congrats to these guys for putting in the hard work.
in my oppinion, the fact that we already hold data about those raids is what makes them easier.

Google each patch in vanilla up to 1.12 and you'd easily see the changes made to items, item sets, raid encounters, class abilities and other nerfs and buffs that is centered around making it easier for the playerbase at that time. Just look at MC, in 1.12 you dont even need fire resistance to clear it. Like half the vanilla experience is gone since its stuck to one patch and the player wont experience the major changes that made the game more trivial, which leaves us with an easy, casual endgame where the encounters are tuned and bugs fixed.
If Classic would follow Vanillas timeline we'd see mace-specced rogues roaming around now, not even touching daggers one bit.

Guys sorry for my question! The world first 60 was on 30.08. Nobody here in Raid is on the list. how the hack its possible that 2 days later - 40 people are lvl 60 and farmed everything for the raid? That seems rly strange to me
because they werent being monitored at all, the list was insanely inaccurate it only counted the ones being observed on stream and players weren't streaming for the most part
Only 25 of them were lvl60 and they just killed it without grinding gear. They were going to do it with like 20 lvl60s until they realized they had no 60 hunter for the boss that required it and took a few hour break to cap off the highest hunter.
15 people are not level 60 when they cleared MC and everyone was in green gear....

It is not worth for me to play only like for 2 hours daily, I dont like being an average player, i need to be very good :D I enjoyed the game for 10 years, I know almost everything, all the quests, quest lines, lore, locations and so on you know, especially classic and tbc, and I don’t have 6 hours daily to play wow to be really good in the top. Classic WoW is not so different by most of those Private Vanilla servers out there. In 15 years of private server you get so many experience about raids and pvp that is not so abnormal see one guild doing in 6 days those things since every content was abused for years. Onle the people that started for the first time on classic and never been in Vanilla they would never achieve this goal.
Funny facts, even today after over a half year some people still not making more DPS then APES after 6 days xDDD

These guys have played Classic nonstop over the last 5 years with over 100+ rag kills :P They surely have tried every single strategy avalible out there and their conclusion must have been that this one is the best
All you need to understand they have been training for years on vanilla, with all data and knowledge about raids. Its pretty clear which guilds are prepared and which are playing this as something "new".
I remember when we had Rag on farm, then Naxx was released. We got the first boss within a few tries, then we raced against Nihilium for Nefarion. I think it was Nurfed that got world first Nefarion, but we at least got EU first (and beat Nihilium). Ad Noctum was our guild on Magtheridon EU (previously named Recipe for Hate on Shadowmoon).

These people slept like 4 hours in 6 Days. They also had years of private server practice + it’s based on the last patch of vanilla wow, making it a little easier. Also molten core was never hard. It’s a total joke, just wait for naxx to come out. That will be a lot harder. Still impressive tho from the apes :)

There is a typo mistake, worlds first was killed on 24.04.2005 by US guild Acsent.
There are 2 reasons why it went down that fast:
1. Classic is 1.12 patch. On this patch most classes got huge buffs, etc.
2. These players farmed Vanilla for YEARS. It's like studying 10 years for a math test you did when you were 15. Of course you'll smash the test if you retake it at the age of 25.
