mario kart ds was the first real well known game changer for the mario kart series. kinda set the foundations of mario kart wii. its also really nostalgic for me.
Yeah and it's a really good game, the only thing I hated and still hate about it is the Ranking system in cups, even if you get 1st in every race you wont get 3 stars, gotta be perfect in the race which is hard as hell but overall it's really good and nostalgic

Hey, Born in Gen alpha here (I'm 13). I also absolutely enjoy the DS lite and older game consoles! The DS lite had such a appealing design and a behemoth of underrated games! And you should talk about Rhytm heaven for the DS.
the DS was definitly Nintendo's best decisions, personally I didn't play rythm heaven a lot, but i will replay it, thanks for the suggestion!

I just completed it again and that was the best experience ever, the last time I played it was like 2 years ago
I think it’s actually my first gaming memory, playing 1-🏰 in the back of my car on the dark blue ds lite.

DS stuff is good stuff. First Nintendo console with *serious* online multiplayer, and it was portable... I'm still chasing that high of being a 13/14 year-old in the NDS and Sony PSP era... Please talk about memories of playing online!
the online was always good, and nintendo did it in first try, and dang i remember having a PSP but lost it and didnt like it as much as the DS, thanks for the suggestion! i'll definitly talk about the online!
i never had a ds but i had a 2ds and alot of the games i had were preowned ds games from gamestop so i grew up with ds and 3ds games, my only regret is i wish i got the pokemon ds games before game prices went high and i never got them and mostly got mario games like new super mario bros ds and m&l bowser inside story and some kirby games though ebay when i was younger, at least i accidentally brought a bootleg r4 cart from the feamarket thinking it was a cheap real pokemon game that i use now for pirat... i mean playing "my backups i made that i totally didn't download online because ds games are kinda overpriced and am cheap"

@@LilCosmosYTyeah true am pretty sure alot of 3ds owner's had a bunch of ds games because at the time they were cheaper so people bought them more including my father thinking it's a brand new 3ds game even though it's not
also hot take i think the ds is a worse 3ds and the 3ds is better cuz you can play both ds and 3ds games and the home menu is a billion times better then the ds'es blinding white menu also yes i know about ds being backwards compatible with the gba but i had already have a gba sp with a few games that came with it from my grandmother's cousin and played wario land 4 for the first time on it and it was amzazing also the 3ds has modding and the ambassador program so i still think it's better then the ds
@@toadlytoad i remember those "526 games in 1" or smth like that too, when i bought my first DS it was a place where a lot of little shops of gaming things were in there and selling them and repairing consoles and all kind of stuff, when i got it they asked me which games i wanted and told him whatever is the best and we waited, then he gave me the DS and R4 card and went away, at the time i was still a child i knew nothing and thought it's official
@@toadlytoad in my opinion its not a hot take lol i absolutly agree with you that the 3DS is better, the 3DS was more alive and you could play older games too (virtual console) and most importantly DS games, even some fun free games like kirby clash deluxe, and 3DS is easily hackable and has a lot of potential when u do so, the 3DS library and online while also having DS games was more than i could've asked for
