Alone, I will pray that you are able to not only find, but acquire as well just the perfect copper bath tub for you! I had plumbed the bathroom in the upstairs of the little house for a free standing, claw footed tub during construction. But when an ex-girlfriend got distracted and overflowed hers on a brand new hardwood floor? I was afraid to ever install mine 😅! On another note. Aren’t you just the sweetest thing! My hat is an Authentic "Shady Brady". Google it. It is made of straw. Yes it does have a western flare. John Brady created these legendary hats in Sonoma County, California. He started up his company in 1976. They are very sought after. I have been blessed enough to have owned 4 that were created by him before he passed away. The company shut down after that. However I have learned someone else has gotten it up and running again. So hopefully I will be able to acquire another as the one I wear now is becoming worn and tattered. God Bless You Sandra. Great ideas for your bathroom! Love the look you are going for. I love the look of copper as well; may I make a suggestion? Buy the largest long soaker tub with the claw feet you can find; porcelain or tin which is much cheaper than real copper and apply real copper leaf sheets on the outside of the tub along with real copper plumbing fixtures. It would be stunning. Amazon, Home Depot, Hobby Lobby sells the leaves in a "book" of 100 or so leaf sheets in real or fake gold leaf sheets copper, bronze, etc for about $5 or $6 a book. They are easy to apply and even fun to do so. Just an idea.
Used a split wrench like that back south. We called it a packing gland wrench. Great video Alone. Keep them coming. We are looking forward to Tuesday night.
Hello from below ya in PNW..back to catching up. . to help with moving the tool boxes ..use the buckets to put the tools in that way you got handles to pack the tools down in .dont forget to label each bucket and the drawer as well.. Great vision.you could wrap copper tubing around the flueing to heat the bath water.. Take care
Sounds great, I would need a very narrow table infront of the window for putting candles on, nailbrush, hanging a back brush ,a book, bath salts etc. At bath height.

Hey Alone I'm from Alberta, and we have an outhouse on our property. The easiest way to clean out your outhouse, take two packs of baking soda per bucket of water , steer and dump it into ... and you done . May you need to do it few times. The best time for that is sommer, but you can give it a try now. The staff down there shrinks almost to nothing.

Love it!! May I recommend that you install bluetooth into your old radio so that it can be used to play your favorite music while taking a luxurious bath? We just did that with an old console Zenith 1937 radio. We absolutely love it. There are lots of videos on youtube on how to do it. Simple really. ❤

Glad you're getting more plastic totes, card board boxes draw brown recluse spiders, they love to get inside cars board boxes, lay eggs, and live inside them. So that's good to get rid of them! Maybe shred some of them for helping to build fires, but if you do, make sure to store the shredded straps in a plastic tote to keep those brown recluse spiders out. Very nice video! I could probably convince myself with the idea that since most the reasons I will need to use the tools are going to be above ground, I should probably just leave them be. Just my humble opinions, but I highly recommend getting a 4-wheeler and snowmachine etc. And an attachment plow with a winch. They’re easy to run as a woman. I do it all the time. This is a must for hunting too. I know they’re expensive but they’re the 1st thing I would to invest in coming to Alaska. Also excellent for anyone that is going to be an avid hunter too. When I moved my big tool boxes/roll-a-way all I did was to remove the drawers with the tools in them, move the box/roll-a-way and then reinstall all the drawers, much easier.
Hi J.R.! I attempted to do just that but struggled to get the drawers out, and with daylight fading I just decided it was quicker to empty them. And that gave me a chance to re-organize the drawer contents too. No biggie... except when taking the large tool boxes downstairs that was a hassle!! 😳
You need to watch Off Grid Experience. He has a great channel and he built his own cabin here in the lower 48 states. I do watch those 2 channels and love them.

I seen a show where Alaskans broke down cardboard boxes and used on their cabin walls to insulate. Maybe that could work on your Arctic room walls. ??? Also.... Maybe a super duper heavy duty tarp could work to make like a roof over Keenans area. ????
I think if I were going to have a shop I wouldn’t take my tools down to the basement. Seems like that would be very unhandy in the future projects you have planned. I love your cabin, especially your kitchen counter you did!!
Hey Alone, I wanted to tell you about this very cool stove fan that i got. The kind that you have has an internal electronic component that wears out after a year or three. This one has no electeonic components on it. It's a sterling engine and completely mechanical.It's very interesting to watch. Requires a little maintenance such as cleaning and oiling. If you are interested in it , let me know, and I'll get you the contact info to you. *i couldn't find a way to put up the video or pic on here.

I heat my home with a heater just like in your bathroom. They work really well and aren’t super expensive to replace. It’ll run you outa there!

Just my humble opinions, but I highly recommend getting a 4-wheeler and snowmachine etc. And an attachment plow with a winch. They’re easy to run as a woman. I do it all the time. This is a must for hunting too. I know they’re expensive but they’re the 1st thing I would to invest in coming to Alaska. Also excellent for anyone that is going to be an avid hunter too. We just got 10 inches of wet heavy snow this week in Knoxville TN. Very cold temperatures. We are not equipped to handle this much snow. At least I work from home so I am OK. Thanks for sharing.

When I moved my big tool boxes/roll-a-way all I did was to remove the drawers with the tools in them, move the box/roll-a-way and then reinstall all the drawers, much easier.
Hi J.R.! I attempted to do just that but struggled to get the drawers out, and with daylight fading I just decided it was quicker to empty them. And that gave me a chance to re-organize the drawer contents too. No biggie... except when taking the large tool boxes downstairs that was a hassle!! 😳

I seen a show where Alaskans broke down cardboard boxes and used on their cabin walls to insulate. Maybe that could work on your Arctic room walls. ??? Also.... Maybe a super duper heavy duty tarp could work to make like a roof over Keenans area. ????
Maybe cardboard on the Arctic room floor too & then a room sized wool rug over that. ???
I think if I were going to have a shop I wouldn’t take my tools down to the basement. Seems like that would be very unhandy in the future projects you have planned. I love your cabin, especially your kitchen counter you did!!

Hey Alone, I wanted to tell you about this very cool stove fan that i got. The kind that you have has an internal electronic component that wears out after a year or three. This one has no electeonic components on it. It's a sterling engine and completely mechanical.It's very interesting to watch. Requires a little maintenance such as cleaning and oiling. If you are interested in it , let me know, and I'll get you the contact info to you.
