@@Mageblood kind of, because I guess any piece of intellectual property can be copied/pirated, but as we also aw in the pre-streaming era people did just pirate games, music, and TV because getting access to the utility value of those items was more hassle than people were ready to go through. Now that they are more conveniently available people pay in actuality pay for the convenience of not having to pirate + recommendation algorithms and the like.
NFTs aren't like this because unless you are really weirdly into badly drawn monkeys the transaction cost of accessing them through purchase and simply copying them is the same.
People don't like paying for entertainment, but they'll do it when convenient.
Most NFT buyers, in my experience, are also unaware of the fact that they don't own anything other than proof that they paid money for a link.

Every time I learn about a celeb doing NFTs, it drops my estimation of them a few notches. Sure, most of them were probably talked into it by their agent or manager or whatever, but if you're surrounding yourself with the kind of amoral money-grubbing trend-chasing hacks who would get you into NFTs, I have to doubt your ability to judge character, if nothing else.

Another day, another 24 hours pretending to understand NFTs. This is my life now
Honestly get involved. You dont have to spend a lot either. When Bored Ape first came out in May they were around $200. Plenty of BoredApe holders who were not rich but were into NFTs bought maybe 1 or 2 for around those prices and held them. Now look at them. Granted they got extremely lucky. Rigjt Place Right Time and BAYC is certainly the exception and not the rule in terms of the tyoe of meteoric rise that particular project experienced. They weren't smarter or richer or more special than you or I. They simply got involved. There are plenty of projects out there that do not cost much at all maybe a couple hundred and even less 50-100-150. No one is saying those will turn into the next BAYC but you'd be surprised. If anything at least it gives you an opportunity to learn about the community and see what it's about. If it's something you don't care for you sell the NFT or just hold it since it didn't cost too much. 99% of the communities and people within the community are extremely helpful and are happy to answer the most basic of questions even you don't own a particular NFT in that project but maybe you just want to ask questions before you decide.

So I'm guessing these artists are all hoping to sell their NFT's for a considerable profit at some point. The publicity they're getting from just buying dumb shit isn't enough to make these purchases worth it. If they're smart they'll flip them sooner than later though.

@@owl509 I don't think that he hates Em. He claims to be a Stan of "classic" Em, and I recall someone saying that he said on stream that he would give the SSLP a 9 or something like that. He also gave the MMLP2 a much more positive review than most pro music critics. He gave it a 7.5/10, while the metacritic score for that album is about a 6.
I think his major criticism of Em is that he switched his style from focusing on interesting content and delivering it in the wittiest way possible, and with playful and fun flows, to overly complicated rhyme schemes that don't say anything meaningful, and delivered with overly aggressive, overly fast flows done for no other reason than to show virtuosity to disguise the lack of genuinelly interesting and witty content. I think most reasonable people would agree that his current albums are not nearly as good as his classic ones. They are not bad albums - except for Revival, which is truly bad -, but they are just not very interesting in terms of content, and Em's old dark wit is shot. That is his major criticism. I don't think that he has anything "personal" against Eminem.
Man I really love NFTs. I sure hope Eminem makes a song about them. The streets need that.
