Y’all are real for showing real emotions. It’s what One Piece does man, it will make you sad, happy, hype, etc..
If you see how mihawk cut a ship in half you know the power scaling is difference in this world
The way I read it is that Mihawk liked the way that Zoro carried himself, so even if he isn't on the same level in skill, his personality traits combined with the skill he already possesses could get him to that level with time. I think that also framed his perception of Luffy. The vice admiral asked for a warlord to get Luffy and he has someone on his crew the quality of Zoro. If someone like Zoro (who Mihawk now respects) would take orders from Luffy, it speaks volumes. I love Mihawk's moral code showing up here.
Hawkeye initially thought Zoro was a rabbit. But then he realized he wasn’t a rabbit, but a young wolf cub.

Live action One Piece was honestly such a breath of fresh air after so many failed anime live actions, One Piece knocks it out of the park all while forming its own identity and respecting and honoring the source material
Mihawk is the World's Strongest Swordsman for a very good reason. Zoro has much to learn about being a true swordsman.

Let's explain it in gaming terms. We know our main characters are strong, but they are still just finishing the tutorial. Mihawk is a world boss. You better hope you don't aggro him for at least 300+ hours played.
We haven’t even seen Mihawk’s full power even through 1100 chapters in the manga.
Mihawk is at such a high level that the only thing that interests him is fighting strong opponents. At first Zoro was just some punk punching above his weight class. The way Zoro carried himself is why he grew to respect him. Still messed Zoro up.
Wait till we see Mihawk actually letting loose. This opening scene for him was nothing for him.

what sucks is, once you learn about all the abilities mihawk has and how they work, you realise that zoro could have fought this fight ten thousand times over and still never landed a single hit on mihawk

This was good. And i agree this is a great live action adaptation despite not watching the anime. The actors are great!
By the way the reason you don't see Luffy killing a villian like Zoro did even thought they might deserve it is a basic trait of his character. Luffy is so kind he beats the sht out of them but also gives them a second chance to change , from evil to good, but also he don't wants to take away the chance of them chasing their dreams! (but they have to do good ) . Amazing sht that gets reflected in the anime so much. From episode 100 you might revisit a changed character by Luffys beating at episode 800 . And it makes the anime feel more real in my opinnion

if Netflix figures out how to make One Piece right and succeed, hopefully this will pave the way for other shows with large casts and universes.

This is better than the anime entirely because the anime of this part of One Piece suffered from filleritis. Just like other anime of the late 90's and 2000's. Like DBZ, Yu-Gi-Oh, Naruto, Bleach, etc.
And, yeah. This is not an episode to watch hungry.

That was a pretty badass intro for Hawkeye Mihawk. Easily one of my favorite characters from the anime and I was surprised that they actually did him justice in live action as short as his scenes are.
The guy they feed is Don Kriegs second in command. That Armada he's taking about is the one Mihawk took down. Fam literally destroyed an Armada by himself.
Almost makes me relieved that he was offered the title of 'Warlord' - glad that no one in the World Government or in the Marines are stupid enough to challenge Mihawk directly. If they had it would've felt differently to how Zoro challenged him.
3:29 The snails have the ability to morph their faces to look like the people who are speaking through them. So if Luffy were to talk through it then it would have a scar on it cheek and even a little hat. Same with Zoro and Nami the snails would even morph to have their hair colour.

Mihawk is my favorite. He has zero allegiance to anyone but himself and his own code, even if it seems otherwise. He is bored, beaten everyone, and looking for something interesting.

Mihawk is one of the dopest characters in the manga/anime. This is was basically just an exhibition match to show you how far our heroes are from the best of the best. When I started One Piece the anime, I started for the pirate action. I stayed for the stories and Luffy who in my opinion is the greatest MC of all time. Even the goofiest characters in the anime have a significant impact on the story. Alot of the backstories will have any grown man balling tears. Great reaction!, can't wait for the next one.
One of the million reasons why I love One Piece is that main characters not always win, MC included. I'm following you for years and I'm so happy you're reacting to this show, mates!

In case you're wondering, Garp didn't eat any Devil Fruit. He's just that strong. Takes years of practice and training, but it is possible in that world to become that strong on your own.
Same with Kuro - no special abilities, just managed to train himself to be that fast.

Ok, I can see Captain Morgan challenging Mihawk - and he'd last about 1 minute. Tops.
From what I've seen of the nobles in the anime.....I'm not so sure.....get the feeling there are several there who'd try their hand against him and believe they'd win just because they were born noble....
Just to clarify, I'm not calling Zoro an idiot for challenging Mihawk, he at least could hold his own against him for a few minutes.

I’ve never really watched one piece before. Is it any good?
Pretty good but it becomes amazing at episode 37 and so on, but there is filler so unless you want to watch that watch out for what episodes are filler and aren't, although the filler isn't even that bad
This is the worst series in the world, it has no connection at all, and it lacks a lot of important details that they never used. As for the real One Piece, the anime One Piece is just the best, nothing else, and the talk is over.
