For that price i'd at least want the spine to be functional. It was the perfect opportunity to have a fully adjustable chair where the sections could be individually adjusted using joints in the spine.
Whos to say that it doesn't, I mean the one guy complained about the upper pillow and they both mentioned the hole in the back. Soooo why not remove the upper pillow and put the cover back in the back? I need to see a real in depth review with someone who can put it together and try all the features. Just a thought.
Its surprising how not a single gaming chair out there has bothered to try and make the chair ergonomics or adjustable in any way. They're all just bucket seats with a different skin for outrageous prices. Dont bother with this and get an ergonomic chair instead. They may not look as gamer-y but you'll actually be comfortable in them.
Seriously... My refurbished Steelcase Leap is amazing and costs like $440 with tons of adjustability. Who would spend $800 for this junk that's uncomfortable for everyone but maybe the 1% of bodies who match the designers? You can easily get Aerons for less than $800. Other than rich teenage boys who find the spine thing cool and don't have aching joints yet, lol, who's their market?
Gamers Nexus did a nice video on the gaming chair market a while back. This chair and other just keep confirming that video xD Honestly, overpriced crap that won't even last that long when it's already broken when it arrives lol haha
They just slap racing seats on everything and the problem with racing seats is the have to properly conform to your body to be mildly comfortable but there designed to prevent injury Incase a car rolls over....not comfort
Ergonomic chair had already been made and perfected. All gaming chair can add is aesthetic, and man that went out fast in a few years. Just buy a well known ergonomic chair. Your ass and spine well thank you for years to come.

I do love that spine design. Dope. That being said: 800 bucks is insane. And that chair is waaaaay to bulky. There's no way I'd sacrifice that much room space just for a chair. But I do like that spine. A lot.
I spent $400 10 years ago on a la-z-boy executive chair from staples which has been the most comfortable chair I have ever had, and despite weighing over 250 myself I have never had issues with the piston going flat or the cushions wearing out. It's made of steel and wood, and will probably still be perfectly serviceable long after I am gone. I can't see paying $800 for this thing unless you are REALLY into the aesthetic.
See, what kills me about this product is if you want a chair that can suspport and keep you cool, a basic-bitch office chair can do you heaps better. Colin Chapman said it best; _Simplify, then add lightness._ No gaming chair is simple, and it's a damn shame.
Any chair that looks like a car bucket seat will distort your back. You don't need support against G-forces. Your back needs to rest on a pole and have a great lumbar support, preferably build-in inflating cushion. Therapia and other manufacturers make chairs like that. Herman-Miller is another good brand to buy from.
If you're looking for a good "gaming" chair that's actually worth it and comfortable get an AndaSeat Kaiser 3. Usually on sale for $450 US. It has 4D armrests, magnetic cooling gel neck pillow, big cushion seat that is comfortable and slightly firm, and actual built in lumbar support. Two knobs for lumbar height and depth along with cloth or leather chair options. Also it's almost $300 dollars less than this cougar terminator. If you don't have the money for the $1200 office ergo chairs then the Kaiser 3 is the one to buy. It's got plenty of leg room for me to sit with my legs crossed on the seat or to lean and lounge in for comfort. I'm 6'0" tall 215 lbs and it's been great. If you're 5'10" or above then get the XL version of the chair. The only real difference is the gas cylinder height range. I've tried the secretlabs titan chair and while the lumbar support on that one is better the chair is an awful rock that made my butt go numb faster than a cement bench. Returned it in a week. The RS gaming devanti chair from office max is a close second for me but will need some kind of cushion for the back. Anyway I hope this helps someone so they don't mistakenly buy this $800 dollar piece of crap.
That sign off made me feel better! I ordered a Secret Lab chair about a week ago and since then you reviewed 2 gaming chairs 😂 So happy you'd recommend them over this one 😁
It seems like they could have used that spine design to be able to adjust where the lower back, shoulders, and head rest sit in relation to the person sitting in it.
Adding 10+ pounds of decorative vertebrae, while using cheap casters, flimsy covers on corners, and inadequate packaging, really shows their priorities: Plastic and pleather pillows.
this chair looks so cool, I want to try it out before I buy it but from what I do see is that I wish the two segments could be independently adjusted like other ergonomic chairs
I have yet to find a single Cougar product worth spending any money on. This one being broken out of the box and truly form over function just cements my opinion.
This chair was already around when I bought a chair the last time in 2021. Could be older than that as well, unless they've done some small "refresh" without changing the name or looks.
For 800$ chair adjustable lumbar support should be a standard and the head pillow should be magnetic. Please don't waste your money on this chair, there are a lot of waay better and more ergonomic options for this price.

When your new ergonomic chair needs lumbar pillows - you probably missed something in R&D.
Pretty sure minimal R&D is ever done on these chairs. It's all marketing bs and slapping cheap plastic on the outside to make it look fancier.
Let's spend years and hours of CAD and design work making a sick looking chair!...O, we want pillows...just janky strap them on.
What??? Two doses of Colton doing chair reviews IN ONE WEEK??? I feel special 😂

Only because the other guy cut his hand open unboxing the previous chair. This gnome guy had to stand in.
Ikr, it’s crazy they’re letting a guy who doesn’t work for LMG have so much screen time on an LMG channel
Thanks for a straight up unbiased take on the chair . This kind of review goes a long way in my book
For $800 USD, the pillows should be magnetic.
the whole chair should magnetically float my fatass for that price lol
Slap Gaming and immediately increase the price by 600$. 250$ max
for 800 i'm gonna invent magic and float myself
For 800 dollars it should come with a 4070 as well.
Magnetic pillow should definitely become a standard in these high price chairs.
Chairs that don't require the stupid pillows should be standard!
high price chairs shouldn't even need tacky pillows to feel comfortable imo
