The difference between a Spanish speaker and English speaker when they react to this song. The Spanish word play is incredible. A lot of parts of the songs get lost in translation
But people who know Shakira knows that when she say clara-mente and pique(splash) who she refers to
Shakira is not only the biggest Latin artist to ever leave by every metric. She is huge in America and all over the world
Also the reference of "This is for you to be mortified, to chew and swallow, swallow and chew" it's an allusion to how she found out about the cheating, it's over a jam that someone was eating it and was him because he didn't like it

He cheated on her with a young girl called "Clara Chía" (and allegedly with other girls) so the first reference would be when she says "yo solo hago música perdona que te sal-pique" - " I only make music sorry if it splashes you", since it ends with "Piqué", his exs name, it's clear who she's talking about. Then, she says "she has the name of a good person" because "Clara" (in English it's Claire) sounds like the name of somebody who is innocent and good, so then she says "Clara-mente no es como suena" which means "Clairly (or Claire-ly) is not as it sounds", again naming indirectly the girl, Clara. Also, she says "I'm worth two 22 year old" and that's Clara's age. She also says "you left me with my mother in law as a neighbor" bc when they were together he built a house next door for his mother. Pique's mother knew Clara, she received her at home. Clara used to sunbathe in the garden shared between Shakira's house and Piqué's parents.

Well she has a lot of references there when she said Sal-Pique (Splashes) she broke the word and said his name Pique and when she said that she's got the name of a good person she broke the girls name Clara-mente (clearly) Pique's new girl name is Clara and Clara means good. Hahaha. Shakira is a genius! She also said Ferrari to twingo and Rolex to Casio because Pique is obsessed with cars and watches. LOL! She calls her a showolf as a reference to her 2009 hit "shewolf" when she sang aaaauuuu and here she said tuuuuu, very similar. She met Pique right after she wolf era, at the world cup on 2010 when Spain won the title and the official song was Waka Wake, that's why she said that he bragged about being a champion and when she needed him the most he showed the worst version of himself. He cheated over 50 times on her and she caught him because her strawberry jam was missing from her fridge, that's why she found out that when she was in the US recording "Dancing with myself" he took that girl Clara to their home and she ate Shakira's strawberry jam. She knew cuz everyone else in the house hated that jam (him and the 2 kids) that is why she starts the rapping part stating "this is for you to chew and swallow, swallow and chew" Hahaha. IRS in Spain is cashing big time on Shakira so far they force her to pay over 145 million Dollars during the time she was working here in the USA. She was at the voice show and was leaving between Miami and Bahamas but also staying 1 week in Spain.
She has paid it and now in the appeal process to get her money back. It was a stressful time for her and Pique didn't help at all. According to Pique's brother in law, Pique even asked Shakira for money to be invested in one of his businesses. Shakira refused, and it caused tension between her and Pique.

Shakira's ex cheated on her with young girl Clara. They was together 12 years and have 2 sons.
When she was out with sons, he brings her to their house. That mistress wears her clothes, use her stuffs, eat her jam(which no one at family didn't like). When she back, she noticed that jam was finished and understand about cheating. There many other proofs too. One of the biggest, she was on backstage at zoom call with his friend (so he cheated on Shakira 1.5 year, at her own house and bed so they deserved all hate
After the strawberry jam incident, Shakira checked the CCTV records. Lo and behold, there are tons of records of Pique bringing Clara (the mistress) into the house (even when Pique's mother was in the house!) and records of them doing all kind of things in the house🤮. Being the smart girl she is, Shakira secured the records and used them in the legal battle with Pique. That's why she got the court's decision in her favor. And that's also why she told Pique (through the song) to work out his intelligence too, not only his physique. Dude didn't even think about deleting the CCTV records🤦🏼♀️

Mine was a similar situation difference was she was married already and had kids we didn’t and we were engaged 1 week before we got married I found out he cheated most of our relationship she was older then me though in her 30s and looks old enough to be his mom I treated him like a king even let him cry without judgment held him when his best friend died yet he treated me like shit was a narcissist and emotionally abusive his friends even his ex’s and his siblings especially his mom were like WTF is wrong with you you just lost the rarest thing ever for someone who doesn’t care for you because she put out really all you had to do was wait 1 more week but no you cheated multiple times then cuss in my face and threaten to commit suicide if I leave knowing that’s a touchy subject for me I’m not gonna lie I did give him myself willingly after 1yr together and then we got engaged I told him about my trauma my past I was a open book yet he wasn’t with me I was there for him through so much of his bad days but when I needed him he wasn’t with me he was at a “friends house”. When I left him my cousins were with me so he didn’t hit me but he did get very loud and kept walking at me trying to push me towards the street he was getting angrier because of how calm I was and I didn’t cry in front of him he kept saying shit and I just smiled gave him his ring back and said good luck hope your happy with your choice and walked away and he screamed bloody murder babe please baby I’m sorry don’t go I’ll get a job I’ll buy you a diamond ring we can get married tomorrow I’ll leave her I only want you what about our plans I want your kids not hers you broke your promise you said you’d never leave me if I didn’t hurt you please come back baby nooo”! fake tears I had to legit run because he tried grabbing me and he got aggressive my cousins almost beat his ass but I said no let’s just go please I just wanted to give him his stuff back and get my shirt that my God mom gave it was the last thing she gave me before passing away so once I got it I wanted to leave because the vibe changed once he realized I knew and he grabbed my wrist super hard and his eyes turned dark so I said get off me and ran in the car and said just drive and we did thank God we didn’t have kids but damn he knew my 1st ex in HS 7yrs ago was abusive physically and sexually so for him to get like that scared me I mean he was emotionally and verbally abusive and a narcissist but he never hit me so it cought me off guard when he got rough and I didn’t want my cousins going to jail for putting him in a coma so I left before it got to that point but it all started because I walked in calmly and gave him his ring back that was oct. 1st of last last year so it’s only been 4 months and he already moved in with the lady and her husband so I kinda get Shakira minus the kids and then In Dec. of 2022 a month after my split one of my cousins that went with me and wanted to hurt him for hurting me she passed away from a heart condition she’s had since birth so I had 2 heartbreaks in one I lost my best friend to cheating and assholeness and my cousin/sister to a heart condition 2 months apart so this year is all about healing and getting paid and losing weight went from 300lbs when I met him 295lbs when we were together and now I’m 275lbs scratch that 270lbs now being away for the toxicness my goal is to hit 195lbs I’m doing good so far so this song and monotonia by shakira I felt every word sorry about my story of my ex fiancée but I understand the feeling of being cheated on even though I’m a good woman who just wanted to be loved and treated like a queen since I treated him like a king The lady called me she was a friend of mine too by the way which is why it hurt more and was crying apologizing asking for forgiveness I was like I already forgave you once I let him go she was like I do love him but I still love my husband too I was like hey that’s y’all’s business idc anymore his yours to deal with I forgive you now please leave me alone never heard from her again did from him 3x after but that was put to a end and finally feel at peace with it I hope one day God will send me the right man I’m gonna let him come to me this time though.

Not really. His retirement from football was planned. Actually, Pique and Shakira have made a good master plan for their life together.
Here's what I got from various news outlets and interviews:
- Shakira and Pique agreed that Shakira would take a hold on her music career temporarily to support Pique's career. It is because they both realized that as an athlete, Pique has a shorter time-span to work in the field. By sacrificing her music career (temporarily), Shakira hoped to maintain her relationship with Pique, and to give a stable home-life and support to their children.
- Approaching his retirement, Pique would build one or two businesses to generate income after his retirement. He has done it quite well. Kosmo, his production house where he met his mistress, is one of them.
- Approaching Pique's retirement, Shakira was supposed to prepare a comeback to her music career. She did it wonderfully by securing a prestigious gig at Superbowl.
So, you see, they both have things figured out in advance... about their respective careers, about their children. If only Pique could keep thing on his pants🤦🏼♀️

@@saramjj Yeah, Spain is notorious for trying to force foreigners to pay taxes as if they were living full time in the country. The years in question are 2012 and 2013 when she was still living and working most of the time in the US (and paying US taxes). The judicial process in Spain is painstakingly slow and she's still fighting the government because she has receipts of all the days she was outside of Spain in that period
