As a new ASE player, barely two months in I’m curious about the Pyromanes as something I might experience in the future when I upgrade. But this was my first sight of the Dragon and the Tek cave. And my main takeaway is that I wish we could tame a smaller version of the Dragon. Guess I’ll have to make do with the Tropical Crystal Wyvern a friend gave to me on my multiplayer character.
a tip for spreading your manes/tames around bosses is to set groups of them to different ordering groups, so like 4 groups and toggle the groups and whistle move to help spread them about.
You can use them to basically skip the tek cave, that makes them almost as OP as a desmo in my book. Currently the only other tames I know of that allow that on ASA are a carchar and an archaeopteryx. The carchar is a freakin’ carchar, which takes a huge time investment to breed up an ok one to use, and the archa takes a good bit of skill to use. And people are taming pyros at like level 25-30. The overhead is way lower to allow players to just skip one of the hardest challenges on the island (tek cave, you do obviously still have to do the overseer but still). The problem with shadowmanes from a game-design perspective is that it really limits how people play because of how much it does. On PVE, shadowmanes are outclassed in most aspects from a stats standpoint, but their versatility leads people to use only shadowmanes for a huge variety of tasks. Now you don’t need a mosa or tuso, or a baryonyx/thyla, or Rexes, you can just use one tame for everything. This destroys Ark’s greatest strength as a PVE game, which is forcing players to interact with and tame many of the creatures of its world. But it’s way easier, so players will naturally do it. The pyromane suffers from exactly the same problem. Imo, and creature that is both an effective travel mount AND can run most bosses has already crossed the line, as it means it’s going to be one of the only tames most casual players use. If you give that creature MORE abilities on top of that, like fitting into caves or being immune to fire, you’re compounding the issue even more. It’s fine to make creatures have lots of neat abilities. The thyla or horse are both excellent examples of this! But when a tame’s abilities allow it to do ALL the major game progression points that the game requires (caves, bosses, and transportation) THAT is when you have a problem. Making it cost IRL money to use? Could be a smart move so long as people just don’t buy it. But that’s not gonna happen, they are literally buying a way to make the game boring in PVE. In PVP it feels necessary to buy it because of how strong it is, which is obviously a major problem.
@@walkingrexy666 you have to fully break stuff like this down. Just saying it’s bad or does too much doesn’t get to the heart of the issue and leaves people free to dismiss it. Explaining it like this leaves no room for misunderstanding and lays out WHY it’s a bad thing.
That thing is op af, I think we're all going to complain about it for a while but everyone's going to get it, then when the novelty wears off you'll hardly see them outside of novelty pets. I don't think it will be a problem for long, they are cool though.
I picked mine up with a wyvern, flew it to the island north of lava island, dropped it in the water near shore, shotgun, ate rhinos and mammoths... definitely easy mode with the absorb flame healing it.
Everyone is saying it’s Over powered cuz oooh it can go on ur shoulder it can fit in caves it can run on lava it can teleport it can light stuff for you It does mediocre Damage and It’s biggest weakness is water There is a fuck ton of water on the center not to mention It rains on the center a lot and for a while ok you can run on lava But guess what Who tf is gonna even go near it ? Seriously when was the last time any of yall died to lava or willingly went near it It’s damage isn’t Horrendous Either people act like fire damage is insane when it isn’t And the creature itself doesn’t do anymore damage then a Direwolf in fact I bet a Pack of Direwolves could take on a shadow mane pack and before you say the flamethrower ability is OP if it’s a Shoulder pet It’s not You wanna do damage with fire your better off using an Ascendant Flamethrower The only way this thing is meaningful is if you actually play on a super boosted Server which guess what Most of us play on a Modest server barely better then official And again before you cry that it lights Ur stuff up for you that’s broken yeah and? Most of us are prolly going to forget it does that anyways and it’s honestly only really game breaking If it Lights up a bunch of forges Oh no it cools Jerky and shit Ok? It’s food it just saves you some extra BS to make Jerky it’s not game Breaking the Phoenix does the same shit The Magmasaur and the Phoenix do the same shit with the added bonus that one is a massive fucking dragon that shoots High damaging Balls and Lights stuff on fire around it on top of smelting metal while one is a Flying creature that is stupid fucking fast Edit: one last thing the It’s literally a stupid fucking fire cat that’s Inconvenienced by the formation of 2 hydrogen and one oxygen 💀
Primitive crossbow does indeed work, and you don't need to lead it out of the water to ride it, it will sink to the floor of the water when it does the roar and you can get on it. I've seen someone tame a high level with just wood spears as well.
I flew a Ptera to find them and easily lure it to the water.. my ptera floated above the water out of it's reach and it went in circles under it.. i kept stabbing it with a pike until it roared, then ran it back on the island to tame it. Also, boosted tame rates seem to lower the number of kills needed (tho not necessary, since the timer keeps refershing). Easy to repeat if needed..
Actually the Tek Cave was Alpha but the overseer was Gamma. I had the same problem and had to run it three time's until it actually ported me to the Alpha Overseer. Anyway, great video bruv.
They're going to be so cheesy for Lava cave, and their heat will keep you warm in the ice cave... Will they replace the Thylacoleo as the go-to caving mount? Even small entrances won't bother it as it's a shoulder pet!
Quick Tip, Trap in raft, take the wild tame to where paracer swamp on island not far south of lava island, paracer do hardly any damage and taming up very quickly
keep in mind that immune to fire also protects you from hot or cold and works somehow while he is on your shoulder, you could have put one on your shoulder and just jumped in the lava to mount them lol
Me and my friends on our nitrado server tamed the pyromanes on scorched earth just a tip for everyone if you want to try and get your own on that map build a small pin fill with animals at the red obelisk there is water there that you can use to extiguish the pyro, do your damage ride and have the mini pin with animals open and kill/burn everything in there and it should tame fairly easy for you depending on your settings we had it set to 3x taming on our server.
Also forgot to mention we used our rhynganthias to carry the pyromanes out of the trench but you cant have anyone mounted with you or else they will attack and catch you and your mount and your passenger on fire.
16:10 see the right flame icon which is 0, thats why it's only biting and not flamethrowing it 16:28 once u killed the rex it got 50 points in it...i think now it can use them points as fuel for its flamethrower
@@Michael-zy7heIt’s definitely easier on the Center for at all times, although sometimes taming it is hampered by a lack of other enemies to farm off of. However during a rainstorm on SE, it’s super easy to tame. The rain automatically douses it so all you have to do is go damage each of them and there’s usually a ton of enemies in the trench to tame multiple of them in one rainstorm.
You can grab it with a dragon Rhynio and drop it in the water near shore, bite it with your mount til less than half health jump off and ride it to begin tame. Thats how I tamed two on scorched… pull them from the scar to the water at red ob.
For the Fjordur fight and the broodmother, the yuty needs to hit like a truck with melee to deal with adds because of the drag weight difference. I'd say 500 damage per bite even with enemy mateboost as a rough estimate
tbh ark was ruined for me once they started adding sci fi \ magic creatures. Doesn't matter if it actually lived, i just don't want ridiculous creatures.
the pyromane seems to have more spawns in an around the wyvern trench than they have on the center map from my experience so i find it easy to drop them in the water a red ob to tame them got some really nice colours from the trench
Pro tip for tek cave: Get your dinos in a line, one following the next and so on. With Shadowmanes, I could do this by twos. Me in the lead, with one 'Mane behind me, and two 'Manes following that one, and two following them, and so on. They follow like the distinguished gentlemen that they are. I can only assume Pyros do the same. If I had a tribemate with me, I could split them in smaller groups. It's a little bit of setup, but it made getting down a lot easier. Especially when running serpas for other players. Less worrying about my own tames and making sure my group wasn't running into issues lol And I could stop follow on one mane if I needed to help another player out.
I think by bringing in some diplodocus via glitching them with a flyer, you can tame one easier cause diplos don't do any damage, so it is a thing to consider
That was another bugged gamma overseer. If you hover over the milliseconds where it shows the killed message before going back to the timer it says (gamma) and it had a green health bar.
To tame them I build a trap and added a lot of small creatures to it, like Sabertooth, Pulmonoscorpio, etc. Then I lure Pyromane to water and then start the taming and run with him (or her) to the trap. But the Pyro dude must high level, or he won't survive the the amount of creatures in the trap. About 20 creatures in the trap should be enough.
On scorch. Kite it onto a oasis. Hard part is getting it out without it falling. What we did was dragon wing guessed it on head. Lift it out. Pin it down somehow. Wait for rain. Then bite and go ham. Your welcome ;) . Helped allies do this with a 150
I know uhh... Steph Lyon I think, he had put up a vid of them taking out Dragon gamma easily as, I think either random tames or bred from random tames. Crazy
Great video, Raas, much more comprehensive than the other guides out there that I have seen. I’m not going to say that I like this creature because I really don’t. However, I get that they need money to give us content. Ark costs money to produce, and we don’t pay for new maps. I wish it was a real prehistoric creature, and I fucking HATE shadowmanes, but these are less broken (note the word less), so I’m kinda fine with them.
It's not hard to tame them on Scorched Earth. I dunno if this is how it's supposed to be, but any time I snatch one up with a Rhynio or a Wyvern, the Pyromane just sits there in air jail without attacking. From there, I just carry it towards red ob, drop it in the water, and proceed with taming.
Bumblebee tuna. I think my Ark days are numbered. My PC will load centre but if I move it crashes, all settings on low. Do I spend thousands on an upgrade to play a game I've already completed? Hand on heart....No 'waves to the ASA ship as it sails away' love your content chap.
Instead of fixing their game or making sure QA testing is done correctly, they prefer to push you paid mods and more paid DLC. I am getting really sick of constantly getting stuck in dinos bodies and just having to accept death or stuck inside terrain. The devs need to be replaced
Taming effectiveness goes down when timer goes red. If you constantly absorb flame and don't let clock go to red you get 100% effectiveness. Creature size doesn't effect effectiveness, just how much taming %.
I bet ALOT of those creatures from the creature votes that didn't make it will get brought to ASA as premium mods. And I can honestly see the Pyroraptor being 1 of them.
Did you test if having one on ur shoulder of one gender and riding the opposite whether it gives mate bonus? Since they are immune to the tek cave lava. A run on a public map with everyone riding a pryo could just jump to the lava and all run to the end. Anything aggroed would just die in the lava.
the days dev will consider rework the boss targeting process many creatures will become unviable .lets be honest they manage to beat megapithecus only because they weren't attacked if the mega was targeting them from the start most of them would die 60 armor is really too low plus there damage without fire affliction are pretty weak ,Broodmother show pretty well what whould happend if boss didnt focus on the yuty.
Killing things during taming process wasn’t much of an issue; even things you wouldn’t want to fight like 150 rexes, you can just flame leap through them and absorb without getting bit; hardest part is just finding enough to kill lmao; as for getting it ready to ride, I just lure it into the water w/ 125% melee and a prim sword and whack away
Rass you actually fought the gamma overseer noted by the green health bar at 35:55 this is a bug that's been happening in single player where no matter which version you craft, it always does gamma even though it looks like alpha. Also could you please spread the word I tried to submit a bug report but it wouldn't let me. (Those who are experiencing this u can go in creative, craft alpha then respawn nearby and it should fix it however you'll only get the ascension and levels but not the binoculars)
Deinonychus were my favorite in ASE, they were versatile in a way that allowed them to be useful at all stages of the game while still not being the go to pick for everything, unlike shadowmanes which were kinda just everything you could want on a stick and while annoying to tame not overly difficult especially if you’re using increased rates

Took along time to read but facts bro
@@walkingrexy666 you have to fully break stuff like this down. Just saying it’s bad or does too much doesn’t get to the heart of the issue and leaves people free to dismiss it. Explaining it like this leaves no room for misunderstanding and lays out WHY it’s a bad thing.
But what Is to gaining skipping the tek cave with only a Lion?
You can't defecat the Ovorseer
@@Nestmind you sir have never killed the overseer with only a shotgun and tek suit clearly, with that strategy the tek cave is the only obstacle
@@Spiney09 I was agreeing with you bro
love your videos Raas
That thing is op af, I think we're all going to complain about it for a while but everyone's going to get it, then when the novelty wears off you'll hardly see them outside of novelty pets. I don't think it will be a problem for long, they are cool though.
They fit well in game, they’re super useful in places where you can’t bring thylas, like schorched
The same thing happens with deinonicus the feathered raptor looking dudes the dragon can't hit them and the bleed stacks the dragon dies quick
I love the taming process, so unique
I picked mine up with a wyvern, flew it to the island north of lava island, dropped it in the water near shore, shotgun, ate rhinos and mammoths... definitely easy mode with the absorb flame healing it.
My inner voice is screaming Diplo at you the whole time
Everyone is saying it’s Over powered cuz oooh it can go on ur shoulder it can fit in caves it can run on lava it can teleport it can light stuff for you
It does mediocre Damage and It’s biggest weakness is water There is a fuck ton of water on the center not to mention It rains on the center a lot and for a while ok you can run on lava But guess what Who tf is gonna even go near it ? Seriously when was the last time any of yall died to lava or willingly went near it
It’s damage isn’t Horrendous Either people act like fire damage is insane when it isn’t And the creature itself doesn’t do anymore damage then a Direwolf in fact I bet a Pack of Direwolves could take on a shadow mane pack and before you say the flamethrower ability is OP if it’s a Shoulder pet It’s not You wanna do damage with fire your better off using an Ascendant Flamethrower
The only way this thing is meaningful is if you actually play on a super boosted Server which guess what Most of us play on a Modest server barely better then official
And again before you cry that it lights Ur stuff up for you that’s broken yeah and? Most of us are prolly going to forget it does that anyways and it’s honestly only really game breaking If it Lights up a bunch of forges
Oh no it cools Jerky and shit Ok? It’s food it just saves you some extra BS to make Jerky it’s not game Breaking the Phoenix does the same shit
The Magmasaur and the Phoenix do the same shit with the added bonus that one is a massive fucking dragon that shoots High damaging Balls and Lights stuff on fire around it on top of smelting metal while one is a Flying creature that is stupid fucking fast
Edit: one last thing the It’s literally a stupid fucking fire cat that’s Inconvenienced by the formation of 2 hydrogen and one oxygen 💀
Primitive crossbow does indeed work, and you don't need to lead it out of the water to ride it, it will sink to the floor of the water when it does the roar and you can get on it. I've seen someone tame a high level with just wood spears as well.
i wonder if tropical wyverns will be able to douse these once crystal isle drops?
I'm also curious if ice will too from the managarmer
tropicals are just altered fire wyverns, their breath still counts as fire type.
@@FeuerToifel Nope, the water breath is different. Example, it can damage Golems, meanwhile none of the fire breaths can
I flew a Ptera to find them and easily lure it to the water.. my ptera floated above the water out of it's reach and it went in circles under it.. i kept stabbing it with a pike until it roared, then ran it back on the island to tame it.
Nice Pyromane guide!
They're going to be so cheesy for Lava cave, and their heat will keep you warm in the ice cave... Will they replace the Thylacoleo as the go-to caving mount? Even small entrances won't bother it as it's a shoulder pet!
I just realized these things would be amazing to use when magmasaurs come back.
Imagine the manes as pokemon covers though. Pokémon Pyro and Shadow with the manes as the main legendary
I was pretty happy with the shadowmanes. I got mine up enough to duo a Titanosaur. The unridden one was half dead, but they got things done lol.
You can probably get the pyromane into the wyvern cave which has some water. (On scorched)
People are cheesed about spending $5, hahaha. Blows my mind
16:10 see the right flame icon which is 0, thats why it's only biting and not flamethrowing it
16:28 once u killed the rex it got 50 points in it...i think now it can use them points as fuel for its flamethrower
Rhynio works well for the scorched earth spawns, pick it up and bring it to the water in the middle of map.
To use the flamethrower you have to have flame absorbed first. That's why the flamethrower icon was displaying 0. You had no fuel
It’s on Scortched Earth too
Yes I’m the Wyvern trench
The cave in the middle of scar has water but center is 1000 times easier
"Why did they just go over there?" cos of the new and improved dino AI in ASA ;)
such a great journey raas cant wait for next one!
For the Fjordur fight and the broodmother, the yuty needs to hit like a truck with melee to deal with adds because of the drag weight difference. I'd say 500 damage per bite even with enemy mateboost as a rough estimate
Such a shame Snail is destroying one of the most amazing games ever.
Actually nuts what they’re getting away with
There not calm down
@@PandaRapter They really are, snail games sucks. Wildcard is awesome. But snail is not.
@@lunadotpng how so
tbh ark was ruined for me once they started adding sci fi \ magic creatures.
Doesn't matter if it actually lived, i just don't want ridiculous creatures.
Thank you for using 1x rates, for us who are on official it really sets expectations.
the pyromane seems to have more spawns in an around the wyvern trench than they have on the center map from my experience so i find it easy to drop them in the water a red ob to tame them got some really nice colours from the trench
I thought it was crazy I could go in lava with him on my back, made it easy to get those resources in the lava
🙃
I've been using turtles , they work really well , if it's decent level you can do the whole tame with it.
If you get picked you can use the transformation to be released even with argy wyvern so on
That’s definitely getting patched at some point then
To tame them I build a trap and added a lot of small creatures to it, like Sabertooth, Pulmonoscorpio, etc. Then I lure Pyromane to water and then start the taming and run with him (or her) to the trap. But the Pyro dude must high level, or he won't survive the the amount of creatures in the trap. About 20 creatures in the trap should be enough.
YOU GOT A RAASCLARK CHIBI!!!! LMFAO Ive seen it all now
Crazy
Imagine you’re riding over lava and you get micro raptor
Great video, Raas, much more comprehensive than the other guides out there that I have seen.
I’m not going to say that I like this creature because I really don’t. However, I get that they need money to give us content. Ark costs money to produce, and we don’t pay for new maps. I wish it was a real prehistoric creature, and I fucking HATE shadowmanes, but these are less broken (note the word less), so I’m kinda fine with them.
Raas, doesn't seem like you noticed so far but taming effectiveness goes down when there's 10 or less seconds left on the timer.
Waiting for WC to add a boss fight tier creature thats immune to stun to break overseer and gen 1 master controller next. Would not be surprised lmao
Solo tek cave just became easier. Love it🎉
You can use your own tame just dont forget to absorb the flame when the flame meter is maxed
FYI there have been reports of Pyromanes spawning in the wyvern trench on Scorched
0:32 bruh it spawns on scorched now, grab them with fire wyvern and drop at red ob. Easy
As always, if Im asking myself something about Ark, Raas has a video on it
I managed to tame one with just a primitive crossbow and a raft on cloth armor. Hard, but it's doable.
I bet ALOT of those creatures from the creature votes that didn't make it will get brought to ASA as premium mods. And I can honestly see the Pyroraptor being 1 of them.
Will you please do the broodmother with their special attacks on. Just curious how it would have gone
I'll admit I underestimated the pyromane
In what sense?
i overestimated it lol
@@dacubanmofo I just didn't think it was going to be that good
I bet as a shoulder pet, they're amazing on Scorched
28:04 a "pride" of lions
Yooo, now imagine doing all bosses with Pyromanes but with a bunch of Deinonychus too once Valguero comes out
Deinonychus were my favorite in ASE, they were versatile in a way that allowed them to be useful at all stages of the game while still not being the go to pick for everything, unlike shadowmanes which were kinda just everything you could want on a stick and while annoying to tame not overly difficult especially if you’re using increased rates
doesn’t matter what’s behind a paywall. All worth it when I’m having the time of my life with my friendz
Shoulder pet flame thrower says all you need to know let alone the rest of it
I have purchased the pyro
After i have tamed these can i gift to someone who hasnt bought it?
No, you can't. They can't ride pyro if they don't buy it.
@@DD-spino and ppl are trying to defend wildcard that it's like with dlcs in ASE. No, it isn't. I have not purchesed a single DLC for ASE, yet can access all of the creatures. Sad
@@DD-spino thank you!
Hi, what commands do you use to make the water look really clear or the graphics settings?
Scorches is easy, pick them up with wyvern. Drop them in water. Stuff to kill everywhere on scorched. Easy tame
heck of a vid Raas, nice one.
I feel like the pyromane should've been a shoulder tame only but even that is OP lol there is no doubt its OP. I'm just not a fan of the idea off premium dinos.
On the unofficial server I am on it is still breeding wild babies.
I'm still on scorched currently and there are pyromane in the trench
Did the bob's cart work for anyone? Mine starts bouncing up and down as soon as i start putting ceilings on. Oasisaur is broke too.
personally I think they're okay, most useful thing is the pet to mount ability but otherwise they're just a budget shadowmane
