i did ur experiment however, when i align it some toons become hide therefore, their animation vanished. i also know their r many way to animate toon the other way but i also wish to know how u keep the number of animation visible after alignment and it does not remained hiden. waiting for ur reply

You need to understand a few points to make this animation perfect. First of all, keep in mind that you need several walk poses of a character if you want to make it more realistic. Like 9 to 12 poses. Then you must align them properly over each other and you must make sure that which pose should come first and which one later on. You can use Animation Painter to copy the Flash Once effect from my presentation into yours. Finally, you need to apply a motion path so it will appear as the character is walking. I hope that will help, let me know!

For Background, you can find "Animated Buildings" and for walking man you can search for "animated character walk poses" or "Walk Poses" or similar terms. Let me know, if that helps.
your use of the animation painter from a previous version of PPT doesn't mention that this effect has a duration of 0.9 seconds on it. Really useful work, excellent resource.
Those are PNG (Transparent) Poses of the same picture. I mean, 9 different poses of a character in different PNG file types and then using Flash Once on them with exact Duration and Delay Timings.

Sorry for delay in response but I had never tried that before even I thought about this a lot of time. I wanted to understand the Flash Once completely and never imagine the behavior it is doing until I read your question. As far as, you might be talking that if we apply the Flash Once then it shows the object just for 0.10 Seconds and you want this duration to be 0.20 Seconds. Is that correct? Unfortunately, you can't control the default behavior of an animation. But you can try the following: Appear / Disappear behavior is somewhat similar to Flash Once but it doesn't contain Repeat Until End of Slide and secondly if you want to repeat this effect as Flash Once then you have to apply Appear / Disappear on a particular object as many times you want to show and hide it. But the good thing is, you can add a specific delay between Appear and Disappear. That way it will show that particular object for the delay duration between both these animations. But if you want to show / hide an object 9 times then you have to apply Appear / Disappear 9 times with different delay timings and if there are several objects (like 9 pictures as in this animation) then you can think of that how many times you have to apply Appear / Disappear. The other thing that I can possibly think of is that: JUST ADD ANOTHER DUPLICATE PICTURE OF THE SAME FRAME WITH 0.10 SECONDS DELAY. I MEAN, DUPLICATE THE FIRST PICTURE. THAT WAY IT WILL SHOW THE SAME PICTURE TWICE; ULTIMATELY GIVING YOU 0.20 SECONDS APPEAR DURATION. MAYBE THAT CAN WORK. TRY IT AND LET ME KNOW. For the time, I can only thought of these solutions. Anyone else have trouble dragging the Flash Once animation painter onto the other powerpoint? I downloaded the asset files and in the powerpoint with the 2007 title I still don't see a Flash Once option.
Maybe, you are understanding it in wrong way. Using the Animation Painter to copy the effect from Asset file in to your ppt will just copy the effect on only that particular object on which you will apply the Animation Painter. It will not add that effect into the Emphasis Animation List. So, you always have to follow this procedure to use the Flash Once effect.
Latest versions of PowerPoint does not have Flash Once effect. So you need to use Animation Painter to copy the effect and apply it on your object. Download and Open my Presentation and then select the Character. Click Animation Painter icon from the Animation Tab and then switch back to your presentation and then click on the object on which you want to apply the Flash Once effect. Hope that will help. Let me know!

I got that one from Google. If you want to make those kind of character animations in PowerPoint then instead of depending on any other source trying learning Adobe illustrator or CorelDraw. Those applications will help you to do draw things of your own.

If you see my PPT then do note that for each picture I am using a Duration of 0.90 Seconds while repeating that picture for 10 times. For the second picture there is a delay of 0.10 seconds from the first picture with the same timings and repeat loop and so on with other pictures. Try defining the same timings, delay and loop for a while and see if that helps. Moreover, the order of pictures must be correct like which picture must appear first and so on... Let me know!!!

Since the first and last frame are the same, the animation tends to freeze for a second when it gets to the last frame. Is there anything to make the cycle smoother?
If you are just not copying pasting all the frames from my PPT to into yours and applying all the Flash Once by yourself then that is quiet possible to have this kind of problem because the Animation Time and Delay Timings should be perfect (or you can say exactly matching with mine) because of the numbers of different frames available in the animation. The another thing that you should take care of is to turn on the Selection Pane and see which frames has been placed at what possible and then match them with the effects in the Animation Pane. Hope that will help. If you are just trying to apply the Flash Once by yourself because you need different speed or something then you should always take care of the available frames that will be played within 1 second duration. The smoothness depends on that. Otherwise, for similar effects, select all the frames from my presentation into yours and that will copy everything. You will just need to change the Delay Timings when you need the character to pass by.

If you will draw your own character poses and background scenes then you will be able to make fantastic animations but as you know it takes time. You can watch some more of our animation tutorials to get more information.

Then you need to draw your own character with different poses. I think there is no other way of doing that. You can do that in any graphic designing application like Corel or illustrator.
You have to draw separate poses of a character by yourself. This can easily be done by drawing a character in Adobe illustrator and then animating it using Bone tools in After Effects. For PowerPoint, you need to draw every pose by yourself and then you can use Flash Once effect to animate it.
See that is easy if you will follow the same tutorial and what you only need to do is to draw a single cloth in 10 frames with different poses and then use Animation Painter to replicate Flash Once on them just as we did in this tutorial.
Ok another problem. It's not repeating the cycles correctly. It does one cycle, but stop until the last character finishes. Then it just ends. It repeats 10 times but the character looks as if it stays on screen for the whole ten times and then it goes off. What am I doing wrong?
I have it with previous. I also used the animation painter to paint over the flash once to my 2013 version. Does it make a difference if my character is different?

Actually, creating a long animation in PowerPoint is not so easy. You can easily insert and manage Audio / Video into your presentation from the Insert menu and can then configure Playback option from Playback menu. BTW Thanks a lot for commenting.

Many of my videos can still be made in earlier versions of PowerPoint but for other videos the only problem is Merge Shapes commands which are only available in 2013 and 2016.

The final outcome of that and instructions from your other video, had flaws because the whole fox was flashing and seemed to go missing in places. Read fellow comments and you will find the answer but for the time the only possible cause could be that either you are using less frames. There should be atleast 9 different poses of the fox and secondly which frames comes first and which one later and the delay timings. If you will look into my presentation then you should check the poses and the duration and delay timings. You will get the answer.

No, you can still do this by using a simple technique. Download and open my presentation. Select the object having Flash Once effect in my presentation. In my case it is the guy having Flash Once and Motion Path effect. After selecting him, from the Animation Tab click Animation Painter and now open your presentation and then click on the object on which you want to apply the Flash Once animation. That way, it will duplicate the effect from one presentation to another.

First try to apply the Repeat command on any other object in a new presentation and see if that helps. Then try it on your actual animation. If that doesn't help then explain your problem in brief. Let me know!

There is no Flash Once effect in PowerPoint 2016. I think you are getting it wrong. You can only apply Flash Once effect by downloading my presentation and then using Animation Painter to duplicate that effect into your presentation. I hope you might got my point.

That is why I included a download link of my presentation in the video description. You can download that presentation and can then use Animation Painter (just as I did in the video) to copy the Flash Once effect from my presentation into yours.

Sure. In latest versions you can do that from File / Export / MP4 and in older versions maybe Office Button - then Publish.

If you will draw your own character poses and background scenes then you will be able to make fantastic animations but as you know it takes time. You can watch some more of our animation tutorials to get more information.

Then you need to draw your own character with different poses. I think there is no other way of doing that. You can do that in any graphic designing application like Corel or illustrator.

No, that is not going to help. You can use Animation Painter to copy that effect from my presentation into yours.

You have to draw separate poses of a character by yourself. This can easily be done by drawing a character in Adobe illustrator and then animating it using Bone tools in After Effects. For PowerPoint, you need to draw every pose by yourself and then you can use Flash Once effect to animate it.

Do you think it is possible to simulate cloth in PowerPoint?
See that is easy if you will follow the same tutorial and what you only need to do is to draw a single cloth in 10 frames with different poses and then use Animation Painter to replicate Flash Once on them just as we did in this tutorial.
Ok another problem. It's not repeating the cycles correctly. It does one cycle, but stop until the last character finishes. Then it just ends. It repeats 10 times but the character looks as if it stays on screen for the whole ten times and then it goes off. What am I doing wrong?
Take a look at video carefully. All the effects has been used "With Previous" not "After Previous".
I have it with previous. I also used the animation painter to paint over the flash once to my 2013 version. Does it make a difference if my character is different?

Actually, creating a long animation in PowerPoint is not so easy. You can easily insert and manage Audio / Video into your presentation from the Insert menu and can then configure Playback option from Playback menu. BTW Thanks a lot for commenting.

Many of my videos can still be made in earlier versions of PowerPoint but for other videos the only problem is Merge Shapes commands which are only available in 2013 and 2016.
Hi there, I followed your instructions but used a fox instead of the man you use. The final outcome of that and instructions from your other video, had flaws because the whole fox was flashing and seemed to go missing in places. The fox is supposed to be running does that make a difference? Read fellow comments and you will find the answer but for the time the only possible cause could be that either you are using less frames. There should be atleast 9 different poses of the fox and secondly which frames comes first and which one later and the delay timings. If you will look into my presentation then you should check the poses and the duration and delay timings. You will get the answer.

Thanks so much for replying. Yes I redid it with all the frames. I had some in the wrong order and some missing. However, I was able to fix the blinking when I used all the frames. Thanks very much. I really enjoy your content. It is hard to find animators who know what they are doing. Most of them are into 3d animation and I need only 2d. Thanks again, appreciate that you replied.

No, you can still do this by using a simple technique. Download and open my presentation. Select the object having Flash Once effect in my presentation. In my case it is the guy having Flash Once and Motion Path effect. After selecting him, from the Animation Tab click Animation Painter and now open your presentation and then click on the object on which you want to apply the Flash Once animation. That way, it will duplicate the effect from one presentation to another.

It could be because of incorrect Animation Time and Delay. Check them out and let me know.
animation time 0.90 sec and delay time 0.10sec each

First try to apply the Repeat command on any other object in a new presentation and see if that helps. Then try it on your actual animation. If that doesn't help then explain your problem in brief. Let me know!

There is no Flash Once effect in PowerPoint 2016. I think you are getting it wrong. You can only apply Flash Once effect by downloading my presentation and then using Animation Painter to duplicate that effect into your presentation. I hope you might got my point.
