Yes do more of these! It's nice to see and learn how other artists draw and render their pieces, and it can definitely help beginner artists to improve their art, or other artists to learn and apply their techniques to their own art.

I love these kind of videos! It makes me realize how different anime styled artstyles can be, it's also really a good way of making your own artstyle, finding an artist you really like and trying to find what you like about their art and adding your own touches. Really a good video! Keep up the good work

i loved this video alot, and i want to give a tip i use for when i break down artstyles to try and replicate in my own way. ive done afew madoka magica screenshot redraws to learn that the best thing to do is trace your reference images- trace them, break them down into basic shapes, and then go solo. by solo i mean thumbnail next to your traced breakdown and redraw the shapes and start following the 'instructions' you left behind. i do this until i'm happy enough with actually redrawing the style. for the last semi-realistic piece i think it's just the lack of real life reference images instead of JUST looking at your normal reference image. i can't wait for part 2! 💖

I've actually been in quite the art funk lately, but after watching this I'm wanting to give it a go myself! I think sitting down and studying the styles of some of my inspirations will really help me- plus, recreating a piece of my own instead of trying to figure out a new composition actually sounds relaxing right now, haha!
I'd love to see more! I'd also love to see your process in your notetaking and breakdown- sometimes I find it hard to pinpoint what it is that I like about a style or what makes it unique, so observing how someone else would make a list would actually be very insightful~

Because I'm a nerd and Celestia mentioned it, I wanna talk about why I think Utomaru's crazy color palettes work, for anyone curious.
The key, in my eyes, is how they use values. In 6:06, Celestia shows off three pieces, from left to right, they will be called 1, 2, and 3 respectively. 2 is the easiest ti break down so we'll start with that. You can seperate 2 into midground, and foreground, then the background. Here, they all have respective value ranges with the fore having the darkest values with a really strong contrast in the jacket and the lighter skin. We can then see the midground with a similar range of values. However, value and color go hand in hand. Despite everything in the mid and fore being of similar value, it still creates visual interest with its relatively toned down yellows, blues, and reds but has the lavender skin be the focal point because of its contrast with everything else. The background uses the same technique used in the midground as well, this being the lack of contrast in the values despite being different colors. This is also how the white jacket doesnt become the focus point because it's among the background (which where some of the lightest values live).
Then, to keep this shorter, 1 and 3 can be taken together. Both of the pieces have an altogether wider range of values, but, despite appearances, keep to a pretty restricted palette. You can basically break the pieces down into basically 4 colors. For 1, you have a color ratio like this: 55% Pink, %35 Blue, 7% Orange, and 3% Green. But because the values and shades are so wide, it feels and looks like there are so many colors that clash and don't. In 3, the ratios are more like: 45% Cyan, 25% Indigo, 20% Pink, and 10% Yellow. Which makes it a more even balance overall, but again, the wider value range creates the illusion of more contrasting colors. Each base color can be shifted to a more complicated but still analogous color on the wheel. So using a simple palette but varying the tint, shade, and tone of each color to construct something that feels wider is tantamount. The creamy yellow has a cyan shadow, but has somewhat similar values, creating harmony despite the contrasting color and the hot pink uses an indigo and violet as its shadow color; two colors close together in the color wheel. Another thing to point out, just as an aside is the compositional work. The slit in the half open door is the focal point being the brightest thing in the entire piece, like it's beckoning you inside like the space girl is. It's really cool!!!
TL;DR: If you wanna use a wider palette, oraganize your foreground, background, and midground into narrow value ranges to create readability in the chaos. If you want a wide value range, use a narrow base palette and extrapolate more complicated but analogous colors to create harmony in the dissonance. Or something like that, lol. Did someone beat me to the punch, I wonder, haha.

these all look so great and I would love to see more things like this from you! I just wanted to say that for more semirealistic pieces I tend to use my sketch as the "line art" and use the colors to really put in the details and then (after making duplicates ofc) I merge the colors and 'line art' then paint over/ blend the two together to take away the line art feel and make it seem more painterly. I am in no way as skilled as raikoart but this is something I tend to do and felt might help you next time you try semi-realism! I hope this doesn't come off as rude or condescending, just trying to help

I'm a little late to the party, but I actually took a look at Utomaru's art after watching this analysis (You did a fantastic job by the way and my goodness they all came out amazing!!). I'm not a major color theorist or anything of the sort but I have experience with working with vibrant and clashing colors so this ma be wrong.
My guess as to how they're able to use clashing colors so vibrantly is because of the way they mute shadows ever so slightly. Cool colors such as turquoise or lavender are typically darkened and desaturated in order to make the highlights pop (I.E yellow and and electric blue). White however, is an exception with it being on top of a almost neon color (such as neon pink). But that's just a theory, a color theory.
