    Thanks! Im from Kentucky and found some geodes in my yard, I was looking to find a way to split them. I believe I feel I can sledge 🔨 it. So I am gonna give it a go. Wish me luck 🍀

    I’m in ky and have found a million geodes on our property. Found one last week the size of a volleyball and was wondering how to cut it in half since I’m not a fan of just breaking them. Will have to give the concrete saw a try for it.

    Ok...i have to admit, the concrete saw looks so fun I'd be drawn to that one every time haha! I'm used to seeing the chain being used...works rather well but I've never seen one go shooting the geode like that lol😲
    Thanks for sharing all the methods tho. Good times🐾

    • @RockHunterMark
      @RockHunterMark  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      After thinking about it, maybe the geode shot out because it was solid and a hollow one wouldn’t have. It did produce a nice break. Thanks for watching! 😀

    Oh my God. The 5 most over the top ways to break a geode I've ever seen haha. This was super entertaining, my 8 year old son and I watched the whole thing. Um, needless to say these are probably not the safest methods?

    Thank you for sharing this. Do all methods work with agates?

    • @RockHunterMark
      @RockHunterMark  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I would be able to cut the agates, but I wouldn’t try to split or hammer them. If I cut them then I would have to polish them. Hillbilly way of polishing them would be to spray them with clear shiny lacquer.

    very interesting... good to know a few extra ways besides letting my grandson's crack them open with a sledgehammer !! What do you do with them once they are opened up ? I liked the shellac idea for displaying a few really nice ones.

    • @RockHunterMark
      @RockHunterMark  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I have a lot of them in my landscape. I give them a away to family and friends mostly. I haven’t done a shellac yet. Maybe one day!
