      Sharon, April of coolirpa recently did a hacks video where she made bias tape REEEEEEEEALLY easily. I am linking the video for you here, timestamped to the portion of which I speak, in case you're interested.

    I want to reconnect with my Korean culture by making a modern hanbok! This was very educational thank you!!

    I'm watching my first HISTORICAL k-drama, the king's affection, and I'm enjoying going off on research rabbit trails since my east-asian history knowledge is slim at best. I like learning more about Korean culture past and present as I have a lot of Korean friends and enjoy Korean TV and books.

    It’s absolutely gorgeous
    Such a lovely outfit!
    With help from my husband (he’s a much better sewist than I) , I made your linen tea towel wrap top this weekend. It turned out absolutely amazing and I’ve had so many compliments on it. I love it. I pattern hacked Sew Over It’s Ravello top to make it. I can’t thank you enough for the idea. I’m going to make this skirt and top combo next ☺️😆 love your work Sharon.

    You did an amazing job here! I made a jeogori from a Korean pattern and with the lining done the way it is it could be reversible, I never even thought of it at the time

    Yesssssssss Thank you for the tutorials I've been wanting to make this top since I saw your wrap skirt.
    Question: what fabric do you recommend for both the top and skirt.

    I absolutely love this design of clothing. It just seems so perfectly sound. I love how you added the tie to the underside because that's how they were traditionally tied then they had the tie on the outside as well. This seems so efficient not only in the summertime but in the wintertime as well. You don't have to layer so many clothing pieces on top of each other and you still have a breeze. I've seen some of the older styles have a flap that went down to the hip and flare out like a fan. That was meant to keep ladies' hands warm and since they walked with their hands joined for elegance it hid the fact that they were walking that way, so their arms weren't flapping all over like we walk now. I also think it complements the woman's figure without it being overly sexy or showing off the woman's frame. So, she could gain a few pounds or lose a few and her clothes still fit her.

    YAY you did it! I'm going to start on my set this weekend! I've had this idea for a wool jeogori as a cozy warm jacket, so I've got a nice coating wool for the jeogori and a very pretty cotton flannel for the skirt. SO EXCITED!!! Thank you for sharing with us!

  • @wuzupbuzz
    @wuzupbuzz ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Yours is the only one I have seen ties on the left . Does it technically matter ? Because I do prefer to tie on the left . ( in kimonos , the length of sleeves means something , and the direction on which it wraps means dead vs alive )

    I'm in love, about two years ago I first had Korean food, and I started to to know a bit more of the culture like that, and it's so nice, but to think that there is also such cute clothes and I could make them myself >.<
    This looks amazing for summer, the skirt is lovely, and the reversible top is so cute (and I love things you can wear in different ways!). This is definitely on my list of things to make for summer :D

    I am confused. Why did you not take a pattern from your extant top, adjusting for your measurements?

  • @ImmmaI
    @ImmmaI 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

    I feel like the neckline would look more like the thing you tried to recreate if you changed the shoulder of the pattern too to be in a straight line, now the line went up a little

    Oh Lord, I wish I found Your channel long ago!
    I decided to do a cosplay out of Spirit Blossom universe of LoL; then I saw the arts and told my hobbit height self that I am altering the style to be more hanbok like. So I went with my own pattern developement based on the graphics of jeogori, that were showing the parts.
    Now I have an easier way to develop the pattern for heori chima, so yey.
    EDIT: It appears I am also a sewing masochist, because I decided to scrap the sewing machine and do it by hand. So it is a journey..
