Nice demo and info. Been eyeing a 381 so wanted to learn more. and I did! BTW know Carl from Pgh Guitars. He has since retired but the Gretsch vibe continues there. Good shop.
Amazing tones and fantastic playing but please, for the love of God, when doing the two camera view, mute one of the cameras! The echo effect really ruins it?
I do this with my Rickenbacker 4003 bass. Neck pickup into a clean, boomy Ampeg SVT/8x10 rig and bridge pickup into a dirty sounding Ampeg V-4B/8x10 rig. It sounds very clear and dynamic while being HUGE.
@@TSSVillains Of course, but my #1 influence is none other than Geddy Lee. RotoSound stainless steel roundwounds all day, every day. They're the key ingredient to my zingy, clanky sound.
This is their debut studio album! Rolling Stone called this album the breakout album/band of the year in 1975! Definitely check it out I have the live album you mentioned too! Also a great album.. thanks for watching!!
Basically, the double bound one was the first version of the guitar-the standard 360 changed to the rounded top version a few years later, but the double bound 360 was still available as a special order (nowadays the 360/12C63 is the only double bound 360 available new).
There should be a stamp above the mono output jack. It would be the year the guitar was made, and the serial number would be below the ROS jack. At least it is that way on my 2010 360/12.
That stereo is a damn magical sound, man. What Silvertone amp is that? Thing breaks up beautifully. P.S. another Pittsburgher here, and I actually picked up the first Crack the Sky record at Eide's recently for like less than $10
Thank you! Its a Silvertone 1482- i love it. Eides is awesome! I used to walk down to there to get records all the time when i was a student at Duquesne
Thanks! Its a custom cable I purchased from Pittsburgh Guitars on East Carson Street in Pittsburgh, PA. They make their own ric stereo cables in house. Pretty affordable too, like $25 if i am remembering correctly.
Love the Crack The Sky shirt. What a great band. Had they been from New York or London instead of working class Ohio they would be household names today.
Couldn’t agree more! They are a hidden treasure!!! We are blessed to have had the opportunity to open for them live and have Rick Witkowski as our producer!
Cute baby indeed ! But never heard of that half-body electric guitar, she sounds great ! I play "French" (of course !) on a LAG guitar type Roxanne 2002 model. I still have the original LAG neck microphone but I have a DIMARZIO X2N as bridge mic, and Man I tell you, that's ATOMIC ! Rock the Universe !!
They're more versatile than given credit for, but, for me, with this kind of set-up in a live situation, it's way too easy to forget where you are, which, when coupled with Rickenbacker's very non-Fender and Gibson control layout and (with) the lights being low, seems to me to be an accident almost waiting to happen. Nice guitars that make nice sounds though - there's no denying that...
I'm retired and I want a 3/4 size Rick like John Lennon first used on TV. I can play it nonchalant while I relax and watch TH-cam. (You and everyone else. Very expensive. They said They said.)
My first guitar and I have it to this very day.....a fine instrument with an incredible neck, appreciate the Ric-O-Sound demo....where did you find the split chord? Keep rockin
It is literally a stereo 1/4 inch cable that splits into LR. You can make one for like 8 bucks. OBEL guitars are awesome; but the rick o sound isn't anything but an OBEL (on board effects loop). Jerry Garcia used this method to keep his Mu-Tron always receiving the cleans most immediate signal from the guitar.
@@ernieflanaganstingraybassm1463 you bet! I'll be playing this guitar thursday night at the 5 spot in East Nashville at 9pm stop down if you need to get your fix of rock n roll!
@@TSSVillains I got the sea green foam one a few months ago. I liked it but sold it to help pay for repairs on my car. It went into good hands. My friend Gary bought it. It sounded heavenly with a surf n turf compressor and a fab chorus. That compressor gave it that chime effect used in Beatles and Byrds songs.
Yeah its impressive how those danelectros can just about nail rickenbacker sound. Green is a cool color, was my first choice but i bought a b stock cream color one (a few minor blemishes=great savings)
This video should be on the archives of Greatest TH-cam videos ever made. Thanks for the great playing and demo
Solid demo and great use of the instruments potential with complimentary playing!

Oh man a 381 is a dream guitar for me. I actually never had the chance to meet Carl but I always heard so much about him!
Nice!! Love the Crack The Sky homage!!

nice video!!!

Crack the Sky! We are opening for them 4/12/25 at the Pittsburgh City Winery!

Very Very Cool

Why do some of the 360 models have a rounded/radiused front edge, while other 360s have a sharp edge like the back?
That is a good question. @five watt world has a great video on the history of the rickenbacker 360. I recommend checking it out

What song is that at 5:15
It would be the chorus to this song we wrote. Thanks for watching th-cam.com/video/eg3EBbraspc/w-d-xo.html
Wow man that’s bad ass it literally sounds iconic idk why lol
Kinda like elo
The one that you linked sounds like elo but not really in this kinda sounds like some bowie
thank you so much glad you like it!! Check out more music on our channel if you are interested in listening. We are a rock band based in Nashville
What is the serial number on the guitar?
Call Rickenbacker and give them the serial number. They should be able to tell you something about it

So, one regular cable into a y adaptor and two mono cables out of the y?
I purchased the custom cable made by Pittsburgh Guitars on the southside of pitt PA
What is the other input jack on the guitar used for? Tnx. Nice vid, btw
The other input jack is a “standard” mono output jack. Thanks for watching, glad you enjoyed
@@TSSVillains thank you for your quick answer, but I'm confused. How can an input jack be an out put jack? Tnx

330?

Can you use the second output simultaneously into a DI?
Technically yes, but you would only get one pickup producing sound.
