I’m a new diver, just got certified by Padi open water diver. I never thought I would be watching Dive related videos on TH-cam but here we are:)) and now I’m researching so much and studying so much by just watching TH-cam:) and this channel is my favourite, his way of teaching and talking is so good and interesting. I’m binge watching all the videos on this channel :))

You are the best. Go dive Cleopatras palace. Alexandria. Very cool dive. I did it in the 80's. Hope we dive together some time. Freddyt

good video. i dive with a full 7mm wet suit and have removed quite a lot of weight from my BC. just by diving in pools. unfortunately a full wet suit in a heated pool doesn't allow much time to hang out since its pretty warm.

Why 7mm if the water is warm? Get a cheap shorty. Unless you are cold blooded. I am now. Thanks for watching. More to come soon. Freddy

I wish you were either my OW or AOW instructor; both over weighted me a lot. In my AOW course, one of my specialties was Peak Buoyancy - even that instructor had me over weighted and was irritated when I could not ‘master’ the skills during the dives; because I was over weight, I added air - and when I attempted the skills, I was all over the place ….. it has taken me several dives since then to get my buoyancy under better control.

Good for you and bad on them. They just were taking the easy road. We will be creating a series and a free course for all the coolest tips and tricks when it comes to perfect buoyancy. I am filming now in Fiji and just completed 40 dives without a bcd at all. Will include it in our footage in the buoyancy videos. Thanks for watching, more to come soon. Freddy

Yeah, I was a little nervous actually because people blast me for some things and telling them not to put air in their bc is contrary to what they learned. I am filming now in Fiji and diving without a BCD to prove a point. Will air mid summer. Thanks for the kind words. Thanks for watching, more to come soon. Freddy

@Leviathan: I find to be neutral at depth with no gas in BC, I have to fin down from surface to about 20’ depth to start becoming neutral. Is this practice acceptable, verses adding an additional 2 pounds of lead to just slowly sink from surface, but then be slightly overweighted at depth?

I would suggest finding one lb weights and traveling with them. I bring 2 x 1lb weights with me when I want to get it perfect. I haven't seen resorts or liveaboards yet with smaller than 2 lbs weights. I am filming in Fiji the next 2 weeks without a bcd at all. Just a tank cradle with straps. This is for my upcoming series on Perfect Buoyancy. I will get my weight right without the ability to add any air. Heck that is the way we used to dive prior to inventing the bcd. Thanks for watching. More to come soon. Freddy

Thank you for the response. I look forward to seeing the videos from Fiji. I find it’s just the initial descent I need to fin down on, I’m fine at safety stop. I think maybe it’s all the little air pockets etc. in full wetsuit so on that need to get squeezed out. When I watch old Cousteau documentaries, the divers with no BC fin down pretty hard at the beginning of dives. Interested to hear your future discussions on buoyancy.
