@paulhugill4589: Damn, I'd forgotten about that comment. You're right, when it's good, it's good. And this is one of the best tracks from the 80's. Glad you liked it. Z: 🙂
My wife and I, were lucky enough to have been teenagers in the 1980's Southern California as real Valley-Kyd's. We love to dance and have an entire routine we've perfected over decades of seduction and resistance. The Hollywood clubs still have 80's nights and we both go. Of coarse, we're the oldest people there, but we both do our routines to various 80's songs and sometimes people, stop, watch, then copy our routines. The thing about getting "more mature" (shall we say) is we don't have the time to get embarrassed or to be shy. Have fun kids....!!!
Spin': I used to watch the old-timers in the clubs and said that I'd never do that. Suddenly found myself clubbing in a room full of kids and realized they were looking at me in the same way. Not sure about the more mature thing - I seem to be getting more juvenile without any residual embarrassment. One good thing about the longer tracks is it gives me time to creak to the dance floor before the DJ changes the track. :-) Keep up the routines, they'll keep you young. Z:
@@zhd-net Do you know what they call "getting more juvenile with age?".... Senility... !!! Sorry, I just had to throw that out to you. Even though I don't know you personally, I suspect we probably have the same sense of humor, being a Gen X'er yourself (or are you?). Although, I preferred being called the MTV Generation, it's just a personal preference. I'll never forget the day when MTV began with all four, or, five videos in constant rotation for days. I'm a music review editor, who just sort of fell into the business, while goofing around with my writing among musician's. Although, I can't play a single note. People always want to know, how the hell does that happen? It's funny, I write more than I talk usually, except for when I'm teaching Psychology at a large university, so it helps to turn on the personality and pelting sleepy morning students with a Nerf-Elite blaster which has the correct range for those way in the back. The wife says, I look like Sigourney Weaver going into battle against the Queen Alien from the movie Aliens. Now that kids are into "Retro New-wave", there's been a resurgence to reuse certain sound profiles, then call it either "Synth-wave", "Cold-wave", or "Nu-Electronica" and people started collecting old analogue synthesizers, which is huge and expensive hobby according to eBay. When ever you have the time, check out one of my favorite discovery's called, This is The Bridge with a younger 20-something guy in England named, Richard. He's been a favorite of mine lately and he can create music, out of the sky and have a new album within a month and a half. I don't know how he does it? About two dozen new musician's, just happened because of the Covid Quarantine-Lockdown and they were getting stir-crazy, so they often went into Mom and Dad's attic, or, basement to locate those ancient synthesizers and just started messing around - Self taught... !!! Richard, plus a few other's, have only begun to actually sing within the past 24 months or so. Sometimes in less time. So, I've been encouraging them to start using their voices - Their always timid and easily embarrassed at first. Anyhow, I occasionally revisit the 80's; however, I don't live by it. New music keeps your mind from stagnating and it also keeps you sharp, but I do enjoy your extended remix. I understand you didn't intend on creating a 14 minute song, just like I didn't intend on writing out a full page on your channel. Anyhow, I shall subscribe to your channel. It seems like we have more in common, than only the music. Stay safe and don't get into trouble. Like bye, or, Whatever you know.... !!! Ok.... !!!
@@spinglasshydra Credit for longest comment ever (on this channel). Yes, I think we have similar interests and humour, and also teach at a local college. Can't play a lick of music, but know a "good" song, and like to listen to new artists/sounds. I'll be taking time to checkout your playlists for some inspiration. I love the '80's (and '90's) music, but not stuck there. I have a couple of current extensions trapped in backlog; been stuck in Covid mode for too long unable to update due to other active pressures. And senility is just another phase of life - one where you can get away with many things you used to think were atrocious.
Just came across now lol....as they , better late than never :) haven't gone through your all vidoes, but think you should do some good old Aussie 80s hits :D the Aussies brought out some good music :)
Sometimes less is more. This is an all-time great, but in the first few minutes you have edited the video in a way that it appears Bill Wadhams needs his guitar as a walking stick, or to clinch on after too much G&T. But when it gets genuine, it still blows me away ! :-) Around 11:00 at the latest, you lose sync. --- I always wondered if the rather "energised" interaction between Bill and Astrid caused their decline. Pity really, they were utterly talented!
Claus Wilker: Thank you for your comment - you gave me a real chuckle. You are obviously a very knowledgeable Animotion aficionado. You deserve a response. Walking stick: I spend hours syncing audio to video. Usually because I use disparate sources. In the hundreds of views during syncing I never noticed it looking like he needs a walking stick. Now I can't NOT see it that way. Ta' very much. 👍 Lost sync: You don't actually accuse me of this, but I feel it myself. It is NOT true that I either 1) lose interest in the sync after about 9 minutes, or 2) that I don't usually expect anyone to still be watching after that time. There are a number of reasons. 1 - it's difficult to sync a 3 minute video to a 14 minute audio without a lot of repetition, and video looping is more obvious than audio looping. 2 - either I use an extended version of audio that doesn't have a matching video, or the 'live' stage show doesn't match the original audio track. In this case it was both; the live stage show only had a 30 second out-riff and the original extended audio had a 90 second out-riff, extended to 3 minutes. Something had to give. So I opted to just let the band do their thing... well spotted 😉 Hanging my head in shame... More lost sync: TH-cam has a degraded stream unless you pay for premium or the track exceeds a few hundred thousand views. Sorry I can't help that - the sync is fine on the upload (except as noted above) Bill & Astrid: I always wondered if they were an item. Pre social media times, and I was too busy to read all the magazines. I really appreciate you taking the time to comment - it made me understand I shouldn't skip the details no matter how difficult, there's just no valid excuse. I will take this to heart. Cheers Z:
Linda: I have no idea how Animotion would end up at a Jazz festival. I'm assuming it would have been a second stage. If anyone can confirm, please add comment...
DT: Oh lord, I didn't think anyone would notice that... (problem of matching stage show to original sound track - and reusing 30 seconds of instrumental to cover 7 extended minutes) LOL
TH-cam Etiquette: Is it a bad thing to "like" your own post...…….?
lol
Yes
Not for this song.
To everyone who loves this track... Great mix. Let's '80s party!
Was there live.. fantastic
@markus3018: Totally jealous... Z:
