  • Those who attend school in the mountain village of Kumpur, walk across the mountains of the highest situated country on earth. Nearly half of Nepals lies more than 4 000 Meters above sea level. Today it's normal that the kids go to school in the valley, but just 50 years ago the village was completely self sufficient. Only if there was a lack of salt would someone twice a year hard off to refill the stock. Today the children go to the city almost on a daily basis and are immediately forced to cross the dangerous river. A village in distress is left behind. The village community Kumpur is spread across 18 farms on the Dhap Mountain. Their families live in a very remote area.
These families have lived on their land now for thousands of years herding their life-sustaining cattle without electricity, running water or contact to the outside world. Although they constantly ask themselves if the promise of an education justifies the danger of the path involved, they send their children day after day to school.

ATTENTION to all friends, subscribers and generally awesome followers of our channels:
Fans of the MOST DANGEROUS WAYS TO SCHOOL Series have been asking for a long time how they can donate to help these kids - directly. Well, now, finally, we've found a way:
With the assistance of some awesome people who specialize in bringing aid directly to the Nepal area, we’ve set up a GoFundMe for the school kids in Nepal.
Obviously, the kids in the documentary are already grown up and making their way in the world but there are thousands following in their footsteps - all with dreams of making a better life for themselves and their families. Now we are able to help them directly.
We can't do it without you.
Now go help these kids peeps with your donations HERE---> www.gofundme.com/f/help-free-documentary-to-help

I am usually a silent TH-cam watcher and rarely comment on any videos. I always come back to this video, when I need a motivation to push myself and every time I see this documentary, tears roll down my eyes. Currently I am commenting in this video from a lab at a prestigious university in Canada, as I am working on my data analysis on one screen and watching this video on my second screen. As a Nepali watching this video, I feel terrible for my fellow juniors, Ajit and his friends and I am so sorry that you guys had to go through this adversity daily just for the hope of bright future. It leaves me questioning, "Why is life so unfair for some of us?". Yet, we as a Nepali have this perspective towards life to win adversity with optimism. This also motivates me, reminding me that the life I have now might be someone else's dream and this pushes me to be grateful for what I have. To all the young men and women, don't lose hope and trust me as it's the only thing that's worth clinging to. May you one day reach where you want to be.

This is not only safer for the students, but also the farmers and anyone else who needs to cross at this spot. While it's still a concern for their parents, I'm sure, at least they now have less to worry about as their precious children travel back and forth for their highly valued education.

Documentaries like this can raise awareness, bring attention to the hardships people in remote areas face every day. After getting an international audience, help is likely to make its way there. Humans have their flaws and weaknesses and some of them really suck but for the most part, we do try to make each other's lives better. I would think that after this was seen by the wider world, no one had to die to get that bridge built.

It’s because they don’t care about where you live, also how long it takes you to get in school.
Most of the time, kids are naughty and that’s probably one of the reasons why they hit student (even I used to get hit, but not much since I was a good student. I used to live in nepal)
I remember walking for more then 30 minutes to get to school and then study. It was hard to pay attention sometimes because I just wanted to rest and sleep but I couldn’t because it’s school.
The most thing I hated was how early we wake up like 6am everyday, I mean we do go to bed early (we are asleep by 8pm)
I also hated how we had to go to school 6 days out of 7 weeks, the worst thing was that we couldn’t just rest at the weekend. We had house chores we needed to do.
It was quite tiring, now I’m not used to that anymore I think I’ll pass out if I do that every literally

Out of all the episodes in this series, this is the first one where the teacher has no empathy with and no sympathy for the children. She´s blaming THEM for being bottom of the class. For me, this is the worst part - not so much the physical pain (and danger) of using the tuin, but the lack of any kindness from the teacher. They go to an extraordinary length to get to school - only to find that the people they look up to (teachers) have no interest in them. Absolute shame.

Pretending that discrimination doesn't exist is not going to make it go away. When you see it call it out people need to stop it. Only a bitter psychopath would lay a hand on these children, after the journey they took to get there. Each morning poses a whole new risk.. As their not "well to do" like those on the other side of the river. But you can be sure if the "well to do" made it to the 1st world, they'd use the stories of these children, as their own.. As if they survived what these children did survive! As each country has wealthy and poor.. Just because you came from a country with extreme poverty, doesn't mean you've survived that poverty if you never actually experienced it on the daily!!! This story belongs to these Children! They are the real warriors in this story! Very personal to each child that ever took this dangerous journey! Prayers for these Children! They should receive automatic mercy on judgement day, for their sufferings! Their innocent and had no say in the matter... 💔💔💔🙏🏽💛💛💛

I know "The Lord' isn't real, so "The Lord" Can't intervene with anything, therefore I can't blame something that isn't real for something that I did lmao.
