Would working for the IRS for 5 years, give me a leg up when starting as an EA? Do I have to actually prepare tax returns, or can I focus on more strategic services and resolution only?

So, people who owe more than $10,000 that they don't have to the IRS, are miraculously somehow are going to come up with $2,500 dollars to pay an Enrolled Agent but not the IRS? Makes sense if they are Rich.

Hey Crysta! RE: Niche, What do you think about nicheing down to a community, like say the Hispanic business community as opposed to an industry niche?
We still recommend niching down so that you can go after business clients. You can go after the hispanic community for individual taxes of course but still choose a specific niche.
