How the fuck could Atlantic drop a band with such genuine talent? Zebra is one of the best bands I have EVER seen or heard. Greatness, without a doubt.

This is fantastic footage of three great musicians. He pounds the skins like he did 40 years ago. It really is a shame these guys did not get more recognition as they truly deserve it. To see randy still hit those notes is a testament to taking care of yourself and constant touring of course. Great post.
Thank you for giving props to RJ. I was living in Louisiana when they recorded and released their first album and have been a fan ever since. It was really cool to live in the area and experience the love and vibe when our local heroes went national. Saw them at least a half dozen times back in the day and it warms my heart to see that they're still making music. Every show I saw was excellent. These guys are still one of the most underrated bands ever. Props to Dream Theater for doing a dynamite cover of this song and, hopefully, introducing another generation to the joy of this band. And yes...you're spot on...Underrated = Randy Jackson. And Zebra.
As a huge Zebra fan...RJ is amazing...worlds greatest unknown talent...except in smaller circles. I know 100% without a doubt if I'm going to get along with someone once we talk music!!!!
I never got to see them, but I wore out at least 3 cassette tapes of the first album. What a great group and only select people follow a group like Zebra and I am one them. Love Zebra, the band is a great American Rock n Roll band and deserve alot more recognition. Let's honor these guys NOW.
Must have seen them 20 times from ‘87-92 on the Island, and they never disappointed. 3 great musicians and showmen who deserved much much more credit and success than they ever received.
I can still remember 1983 when this album came out....It was still the rollerskating era in NY and Commack rink was still in business and the place was so jam packed every Friday night......Saw this band in Latham NY in 1990, tiny bar w/ big sound....
Saw them at Spring Concert at Queens College. Growing up in Forest Hills and going to places like L' Amour East, L' Amour (even Lamour Far East.), SPIT, etc... Couldn't help but love and appreciate these guys.
Hey Long Islanders ... don't forget they started out in New Orleans and still play here regularly. I've seen them live 25+ times around New Orleans and Baton Rouge. Too bad not enough outside of LI and the Big Easy know who they are. They really got screwed. Unbelievable sound from a 3 piece. Long live Randy, Guy and Felix!!!
keithf85 this band is very loyal in the nola area, they never forgot where they came from... they have integrity. i am a nyer but lived in the houma area for a few .. i fell in love with them all over again when i was in nola area.
Yeah, but if you talk to Felix he sounds like he grew up on Lawn Guyland! !! All he needs is a 1983 T-top camaro or monte carlo and he is good to go!!! Don't forget the Playboy air freshener hanging from the rear view mirror! !! :)
I have seen Zebra about over 50 times when living on LI. Now I live in RI. The incredible sound from Randy, Guy, and Felix is amazing! Felix has control of the ivories, Guy is a master on the skins, and Randy is the master with vocals and guitar! I ALWAYS LOVE listening to these guys! Check them out LIVE!!!!
Their music is timeless. We love Zebra!!! We are 14 and 15 years old and will have the honor of opening for them on May 31, 2014 in Westbury NY! Can't wait!
Damn for 3 guys they killed it!! I have always liked Zebra but never got a chance to see them live. I was in the Military in the 80's but had a couple cassettes that I wore out! Mind Blown!
I started seeing them when they were a local bar band in the new Orleans, baton Rouge, and Kenner Louisiana area. We could see them almost every weekend! Went to there signing party and then there album release party at old man river's. I can rember waiting in the parking lot of warehouse records for them to open so I could get the first copy of there album before I went to work! I was so proud that I put it in the back window of my car for all to see!! Only to have it melt and warp so bad it was unplayable... of course I rushed back to buy another copy before they closed that same night!!!
One of my all time favorite memories is this one. Randy Jackson was hired to play a backyard bash at a freinds house years ago. I stood 3 feet right in front of him the whole time.He looked right at me and quitely said..."any requests?". I said are you serious? Please please play take your fingers from my hair. Well, he obliged. He and his 12 string and nothing more. I was in la la land ....literally. I have the pics to prove it wasn't a dream.
Better than the studio version frikin 30 years post..... incomprehensible lmao wow!!!! Discovered these guys from the college radio station KVSC in sleepy St Could Mn circa maybe 1985 or so I really can't believe this version was recorded live
I saw them live when they were "new" to touring back in the early 80's. They opened for REO Speedwagon here in Houston at The Summit, and quite frankly were the better band, by far! Their show, about 45 minutes long, was f'n brilliant! They have only gotten better with age! I have all their CD's, including a few, ehem, not-so-legal bootlegs, as well as the DVD show/documentary. I loved Zebra on that very first time I ever saw them, and have been a Zebra fan ever since. Second only to Rush for Power Trios!
@@paultaurone5634, I respect your opinion, but I don't share it. I'm a bigger Rush fan, and though Zebra are absolutely fantastic, they are not Rush. But, that's MY opinion.

Brilliance. Zebra is THE most under-rated band ever....
Maybe.

Hell yeah
LOL Maybe is right!
If their first album wasn't recorded so badly they would've been great.
This was always my favorite Zebra song. I love its emotional power the tempo changes & its utter originality. Take a bow gentlemen. Barbara Ann
Feel so privileged to have seen them live.
And here I quickly descend down the Zebra rabbit hole. These dudes are incredible.
The thing about Randy is he makes playing the guitar look so easy. Just amazing
Came here to say this. We all know this is not easy, but he makes it look easy. The only other person I've seen shred so "effortlessly" is John5
Zebra is AWESOME!!!! I've never seen anyone play the guitar and sing at the level of Randy Jackson. Simply mind blowing. 🤘❤️
Still listening in 2022. The first time in 1982….40 freakin years ago….geez
Saw them at Six Flags in Jersey in the mid-80s. Still one of the best concerts I’ve ever been to.

Probably because they only made one good album. Their first one was excellent, the rest was boring.

I make it a point to watch as many videos as possible related to ZEBRA yearly. It brings back wonderful memories
That's the best thing about Zebra in my book is they sound as good live as they do on the record. I'm all about wanting to hear the record live.
