It is certainly the classic pitch and strike frequency that is universally recognised as the school / fire bell sound. Sounds a lot older than it is! So it would make sense for people to use it to emulate old timey bell sounds.
@@JmFireAlarms My old workplace had these, plus the larger versions (based on the Friedland Big Bell model) that were bigger than a dinner plate. Because there were also beam sensors, I often feared stray flies going into them and setting off the bells as the larger bells were even louder.
