I peel the paper towel down to one layer and wrap around chipboard scraps and secure with glue. Once dry, I add stuff - glossy accents, UTEE, beads, charms, ink, etc., and then use as fairly lightweight embellishments on my cards. I often pour the leftover shimmer watercolor water over the paper towel, too, to catch that last little bit of shimmer, and it shows up well on the paper towel, also! TFS.

Wow, Natasha! Such a fun Card. You are so fearless & creative. Your technique reminds me of Eric Carle's illustrations. He's the children's book author of "The Hungry Caterpillar " and many other wonderful kids books. I hope you're familiar with his work. Your kiddos would love his books. But his illustrations were made with household items. Keep playing. Part 2 would be great!

You could coat the string with gesso (can make it with PVA glue and cornstarch). Once it is dry, it wouldn't absorb as much ink. Also, cheap acrylic paint would work as well. Happy Crafting!

Love the paper towel technique - and the inked border around the card front! I always forget about doing that, so thank you! BTW, Versafine Claire can be heat embossed up to about 7 minutes after stamping! Of course it depends a bit on your climate, but it can feel completely dry yet will accept embossing powder. It’s great if you suddenly realize you’d like to emboss quite a bit after stamping. #magicclaire

Wow Natasha, these were all soooooo creative. I loved them all but I could see me trying the one with the coiled twine on the block. That looks to be about my speed, 😉 Thanks so much. 😊

WoW! What a great card. I have been using your tip and inking my edges to create a faux layer! Thank you as always for sharing.
