(Rancho) Cucamonga was a great place to grow up in the 1970's. The pacific electric trail @ 3:15 used to be the old red car line, which carried a lot of the citrus harvested in the inland empire. The hill behind the sycamore inn @ 3:33 is called Red Hill, it used to be full of fragrant eucalyptus trees, along with Hellman Avenue. The Virginia Dare winery @ 2:00 was sometimes used for shooting scenes for the 1960's series Combat. I just thought I would throw in my two cents. Thanks for sharing.

Jerry James always got the facks!!!
Trust me people who have lived in the area for years don't know as much history about the inn as you.
Good job👍I've heard some interesting ghost storys about that place, I called but never got a return call. If I do contact the owner for a ghost hunt I'm bring you with us!

Another fine video. I use to live a few blocks from there. One of the stories I heard was that during prohibition, the rows of trees across the front of the building, people hid their booze for pickup from customers.

Cousin to Raines widow was shot near Raines ranchero from ambush. He made it to sycamore inn and died there. On the original site. Think the last name was martinez. John Raines house is located there in what was called Red Hill, now Cucamonga off of Etiwanda. Historical house, made out of fired brick.

Hi Jerry. Thank you for posting about Cucamonga. I grew up and lived in Cuc, for 20 years. I ate at Sycamore Inn about 10 times. Great place

I went there once to check out the bear (El Oso) statue thats behind the sign. That statue is also part of Rancho Cucamonga history.

I think that the Magic Lamp Inn is right across the street (on Foothill).

Rubbottom also built an inn over in Pomona and is buried there.
