Local bus mass transit service in Olney is limited so most people drive a personal motor vehicle to get around. The closest Metrorail station is about 25 minute drive away in Glenmont, Maryland. Olney Longwood recreation center is accessible only by motor vehicle. Olney Manor Park is the biggest county park nearby. Olney has its own post office and public library.

The commute to DC is much longer than 35 minutes. That time might be what a navigational device says, but reality includes traffic congestion, accidents, etc. During rush hour, it takes me at least 1 hour to get to DC on my best day.

One pro - Olney is only 20 min from metro, so it makes it easier to get into the city.

First thing is, one needs to learn how to pronounce it - it's pronounced ALL-ney. Like olive. It's always been that way.
