31 Dec 2021 What a truly wonderful comedic production this is, thank you indeed Uploader for the privilege of this free viewing, to close out the year for me. The comic trio of Yu Meng, Sai Gua Pow and Gou Lou Chuen is clearly a calculated casting catch even if the latter two are only supporting roles here. Pity that they were not more frequent collaborations, unless I'm mistaken. Those of us avid b/w HK Cantonese movie fans harking back to our growing-up years will likely agree with me that Lee Heong Kum was not averse to accepting her rather reprised role of being the rejected, unsuccessful pursuer of the man of her desire : Cheong Ying Choy, Wu Foong, Lam Kar Seng (among other male leads I believe) were all distracted by their own love interest (Nam Hong, Wu Guan Lai, Lam Foong, Har Peng). Can get somewhat predictable at times in truth but hey, it all played out fine for viewers back then in the years of yore. Guang Hoi San's presence here is a real treat for me personally since there seems too few of his films on YT. Actually, my greatest impressions of his screen personas remain his casting as Carol Cheng's father in the iconic 1980 tv drama series "Man in the Net" (starring the upcoming legend-to-be Chow Yun Fat as well) and his most unforgettable irascible, surly patriarch and husband of Nam Hong in "Man Shui Qin Shan Zhong Si Qing". Such priceless memories, such treasured recollections. Especially since they are all ageing now or no longer with us anymore. Alas, Father Time marches on....inexorably.
26:50 is really funny. That Yu Meng's dialogue is best 😂😂, is he still alive? Lam Fung proved to be a great actress, entirely different from her role in 「遥远的路」which she played the younger playful sister.
